    Homecoming

Addiction of any kind is a cruel master. My nephew seemed to get addicted to just about anything that came his way. He had to leave Las Vegas for his gambling addiction, and alcohol nearly ruined his life. I sure hope Alex can get himself straightened around.

    Chapter 34

I'm going to miss these boys, too. So many questions running through my head. What was the store manager's reaction when he found out Adam just up and quit? What became of the corrupt Detective Diamond? What was Adam's Ma's reaction when she got to hell and found out Adam wasn't going to be there too?

    Chapter 10

I still maintain that John is socially awkward, lonely, and feels he has to put out to every guy that waves it in his face. That his crush on Sean has not abated is evident, and could lead to him causing trouble. Still, I feel for him. Been there, done that, bought the souvenir T shirt.

    Chapter 29

So nice to see a happy chapter! I know we need the conflict to keep the story going, and I do enjoy the suspense, even though it wears on me. I've come to care a great deal about these people, even though they don't really exist outside of the author's fertile imagination. I look forward to the next installment. Another thought: if Mike was HIV positive, and corrupt Detective Diamond had been having relations with him, then he might be positive, too.

    Chapter 29

Banana muffins, indeed! I feel I'm going to have to whip up a batch for after-church fellowship.

    Chapter 28

Now I'm quivering in my boots (aside from the fact that I'm barefoot). As questions are answered, more arise. The corrupt cop was the last person to come to mind in my speculations; in fact, I'd mostly forgotten about him. Now that Mike is dead, under California law, if not everywhere in the US, all co-defendants in the kidnapping/whipping/shooting can be charged with murder. I await the next chapter with bated breath.
  7. This is a wonderful story. The plotline is flawless, and filled with love between two high school boys. There is pain and anguish, suspense and a sense of family. I've come to really care about the characters, and there are a few that I really hate. Sex occurs, but only incidental to the main story line. Now on to Chapter 28!

    Chapter 27

To coin a phrase, Holy crow! The suspense is killing me. I don't care who did it, I just want Troy to be safe and accounted for.
  9. I have decided immediately that I don't like Alice Adams. She tells two students that their fathers are boors, demands that one bring her lunch, and almost asks the other his sexual orientation right in front of the whole class. "Professor Bitch from Hell?" At least she admits it. Were I one of her students, I'd ask her if she had a return ticket.

I just joined you, so I'm a little late to comment, but I must say I'm intrigued. I'll have to keep reading. No, that's not right . . . I must keep reading.

    Chapter 8

I can't help but give John the benefit of the doubt. He's lonely. I was very much like him in my late teens. I wanted a special someone to call my own so bad I'd blow every guy who would let me, hoping he'd fall in love with me. Sure, it got me lots of 'tang, but I was very much alone.

    Chapter 26

I was going to let you blame it all on her ignorance. Don't spoil it, admit nothing😀. I know most people never noticed that, but Oscar Wilde puts ideas in people's heads. Look what ideas he gave me! No, forget I said that. It was Kip Noll.

    Chapter 26

You'd think that a woman who claims to follow the Bible so closely would get her facts straight before spouting religious vitriol. She called Mrs. C "Salome," as though it were a metaphor for a wanton woman, whereas in reality, Salome was one of the women who went to the tomb to anoint Jesus's body (Mark 16:1) The woman who danced for Herod then demanded John the Baptist's head on a platter was never called by name, just the daughter of Herodias. (Mark 6:21-29) Don't you just hate smartass theologians? 😉
  14. Finn and Lee are so cute! They both know what they want, but are too bashful to go for it. Falling asleep in each others arms in the back seat of big brother's car has got to be one of the most romantic things that could happen.

    Chapter 24

I finally managed to get signed up to the site. I just know that punch is going to cause some serious complications for Adam. I don't see how a punch could hurt his appendix, but then, I'm not a doctor.
