let's be realistic about this: First, Luc barfed immediately upon ingesting the Tylenol, that means that some of it came up. Second, he received medical assistance within what? An hour. Even if we assume that the Tylenol he ingested was from a full bottle of extra strength, he probably would eliminate most of it naturally and the subsequent treatment by the poison control center with stomach lavage and dosage with N-acetylcysteine would start the curative process within one hour. I believe he will be quite ill for a few days and be sent home within the week. He will require extensive psychological counseling however and reparative surgery on his wrists. Not a pleasant outlook.

Ingesting an entire bottle of Tylenol followed by vomiting with medical care in a short time span (less than one hour) with N-acetylcysteine follow up. Luc is going to be alright. Sick for a while, but able to leave the hospital in three-five days, and he is going to need psychological counseling and a lot of support from his friends. Tylenol is a poison, but its effects are either slow or delayed. Liver damage is the long-term effect of Tylenol poisoning. Barfing as happened here is the short-term treatment. One of the biggest problems Luc faces is the plastic surgery to repair muscle and tendon damage to his left wrist. Opening a vein in the wrist is not a very efficient way to commit suicide as it is seldom effective if medical assistance is available as it was here. The counseling is the most important part of the treatment he is facing. Good luck and God bless.

How can I express the beauty of your writing? The little icon of the thumbs up is so inadequate to tell you how you affect me. You are beautiful, not necessarily in appearance, I do not know what you look like, but in heart -- you have a beautiful heart to be able to write about human pain so well

Josh is such a good partner -- a lover in every sense of the word. Superior craftsmanship, on Duncan's part.
-
What is wrong with Luc -- I think nothing -- he is fearful and just needs time to learn more about Josh's love for him. He has been hurt and is afraid of being hurt again. Wonderful writing... I'm enthralled.
-
'A way with words' is a gross understatement. The magic of a moment comes down through your fingers onto the keys. I am aware that this story was first published over seven years ago, so the author will probably not ever see my comments, but my opinion is important to me -- you are a magician.
-
And I am impressed with Josh. He is indeed a friend of a friend in need. Excellent characterization.

I don't cry at stories, but this time... This story drew me in. Yes, it was bitter-sweet, and oh so well done. I'm hooked at just the first chapter. 😥

Hey, I don't have anything to bitch about on this chapter. Good show. I still love the story and enjoy reading. Will H

Troll Alert: let’s go you wreak of a good time. Whee, I love it when I am able to help an author...the word you are looking for here is reek. Wreak is a verb and means cause a lot of damage. Reek means 'smell'. You have a wonderful sense of humor, Bindy! There is something in every chapter that makes me smile or giggle. Will H.

OK, I am confused. I tried to find out a little background info on you and find only that you are hidden beneath multiple layers of I guess it is Danish crap. What gives? Your stories are so great, a fantastic sense of humor and good timing, but a secret personality! Are you in the closet or something. Whoops, I didn't mean that Danish is crap. Just that you are hiding, that is crap because I cannot bug you properly unless I know more about you. Will H.

Troll Alert: "I’m doing my best to reign in my mouth Dad," the word reign means the rule of a king or queen. The word you should use here is 'rein', which is a leather strap used to control a horse. I downloaded chapter 1 of William's Love, but I didn't read it yet. I am holding that story in reserve for my next long stint. I think you must have a terrific sense of humor Bandy, hardly a paragraph goes by without a smile from down here in Brazil. Thanks!

I have decided that I do not want to read William's Love until after I finish Ian's side story. Too much information crossing over. Solution to your problem, teach your dog to type! And I understand cats are very good at editing, so between the two of them keeping busy with the labors of story writing, you should be able to catch a nap, but not too long please, This story (I am reading for the second time) really grabs and holds one's interest. You do such a good job of characterization the confusion created in a reader by the introduction of a comment by a different character is taken care of automatically.

OK, I have figured out that "strawberry guy" Is some sort of a cop and was called away because of a breach of the peace of some type. Getting him together with Ian is turning into a real problem, but that is just the sort of thing that happens in real life. I probably should put this story on the shelf and read William's Love. It seems that all the rest of your fans have already done so. But for the moment I am going to stick with this. If I get too confused, I will read William's Love.

Good God Grandma -- she is a total kick. Somehow I think we better plan on a trip to New England at Christmas time for sure! It's good to see Ian and Pat becoming a family. They need one another and Pat needs Strawberry guy, but I am sure you will work that out. Congrats on your characterizations. Sometimes an author makes his people behave in such a similar manner that a reader who is unfamiliar with them gets lost, especially when he chooses names like Rick and Dick for their names. By having characters with distinct personalities as you have, it makes the storyline easier to follow. You go, girl!
-
Hey Bendy, love your sense of humor, and your characterizations are spot on and cute. Do it, gurl!
-
I had so much joy from your other story, "November Falls", I downloaded your stories from the net and selected this one to read next. So far I have not been disappointed. Go, Go, Go. I am going to start calling you "Bendy". If that is not OK, respond with an acceptable name.

"2.5 kids: does that mean two youths and a 'bun in the oven', or two youths and a friendly shepherd dog? Don't forget the 'white picket fence' As far as the 'bro' code is concerned, if you are struggling for an expression how about 'bro and sis' code?

Troll alert: "nobodies even blinking an eye", this is a contraction of 'nobody is' and would be spelled 'nobody's'. Unexpected changes in the attitude of characters: I feel that a change of attitude in a character should be presaged by a denouement and a period of adjustment, but should not replace progress in characterization by being too long or complex. People do change their attitudes, but usually they require evidence of change in others.

It seems to me that many of your commenters do not realize the restrictions placed on the length of chapters and number of chapters submitted each week by the bosses at GA, Authors frequently have several chapters in reserve, but GA does not permit unlimited posts. I am sure the repeated requests for more and faster (which in this case apply to something different from the usual!) cannot be responded to because of restrictions placed on postings by GA. 😀 On the other hand, I am sure an author loves to hear them because it means that someone out here in reader land is enjoying his work and that is the only pay an author gets.

“I don't care what the newspapers say about me as long as they spell my name right.” PT Barnum. The reactions to you story vary all over the place. Remember what Barnum said and keep up the good work you are doing.
-
Do you think there is a little passion between these two? This is a little bit more of a greeting than one might expect in the break room! Superior writing. You certainly know how to grab a reader's interest! Will H.

At my current age of 85, I probably will not have to face the Rainbow Bridge for Braunen, she is healthy and a happy companion. She did pull a trick on me -- bearing nine puppies so even after I am gone, there will be a family joining me at the end of the rainbow bridge.

Some of the Muslim punishments for 'deviant behavior' are a little more severe than the Christian ones. I have not heard of anyone being stoned to death in the Christian churches for sleeping with a boyfriend, and in some of the Christian denominations, gay marriage is, while not approved, at least tolerated.

Compelling chapter, indeed. You lead us on beautifully, DK. Looking forward to the next one. Will H.
