I can honestly say that I was emotional as this was written. Benjamin is a good boy with a good heart and he needs some good luck before his circumstances adversely change him. Can his new friends be that good luck? We will find out soon.

A nicely written and intriguing whodunnit thriller. I can't tell you whodunnit or Chris would have me clapped in handcuffs, so you will just have to read and find out. I promise you will enjoy it. A great read that is worthy of the five-star rating.

I'm definitely not a good detective, I may worked out who the murderer was in the end but I lost too many victims. That damn woman! Nice job Chris I enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to Ken's next case.

Could it be Norm's jealous, rage-filled wife? Being a cop's wife she would know a lot about police procedure and may have a police scanner to listen in to police broadcasts. 🤔

You are right Chris, this is a sad and heartwarming chapter. Benjamin chose people who could not resist the puppy-dog eyes that fixed on them.

There are some Boot stories that are not so good but I try to keep them locked up, one did escape in the form of The Busker. Who knows, maybe more of those stories will escape. I'm happy that you felt the warmth of the welcome for Benjamin. I wonder what he will do now?

When good people come together they try to do good things. Down on his luck, Benjamin has happened on these good people. They recognise a good person who needs some help and offer that help to Benjamin.

Not enough info to speculate yet. It's possible that the crimes have been committed by an unknown outsider hiding in the house and it's also possible that one of our investigators is responsible. We need more info, but my guess is we'll get another body first.

The day following their arrival was a quiet one. Everyone enjoyed an early morning stroll on the sandy beach steps away from their house before the temperature rose to unbearable levels. Leaving the beach, they relaxed in the air-conditioned house until the hottest part of the day passed. It is looking good for the plans, isn't it? Hopefully, everything will come together as intended. I like the reference to 'The A-Team', I'm hoping this plan comes together. 🤞 Jacob and his team are an elite team, quick response is second nature. It also got the pancakes for breakfast, lol. Haifa is an interesting city with plenty of attractions and distractions for them to enjoy. -
Well, you have my attention. The slow and gentle start went up a notch when Ken arrived at the party, and then we got the shock factor at the end of the chapter with a dead body tied to the door handle! I'm looking forward to more of this skilful writing.

Hopefully, this marks the beginning of a new chapter for Joseph. The love, patience, and sense of family he will experience with Ian and Kevin will be instrumental in this process. With the right professional support, Joseph has a good chance of replacing his bad memories with good ones and coming out of this in good shape. Several drafts were consigned to the bin as I considered them too dramatic and traumatic. I settled on this version as felt it described events without creating too much of a shock and it does not glorify the violence that Joseph was subjected to.

Thank you @Flip-Flop for this comment. I did wonder if I should expand on the treatment Joseph received, but I decided that 'less is more' and kept it brief and to the point. your comment justifies that decision.
