The Boot World - The Boot & The Lost Souls Series
Mancunian replied to Mancunian's topic in Stories Discussion Forum
New story update - It isn't so much an update it is more to let you know that the story is still being written and edited. It has not been forgotten and will be posted when it is complete. Question - Are there any stories that anyone thinks should be told as part of either The Boot or Lost Soul series? If anyone thinks there are stories they think should be told, I'd be more than happy to consider them.- 73 replies

Aloha Albert I'm having a great day thank you. My meetings have been going well and have been very productive. I've just finished another chapter and sent it to my friend for his input and I've been enjoying the attention of a very nice guy. 😃 I hope your day is going just as good or better

When you joined GA you didn't just join a website, you joined a community and extended family. Like all families, we do have our disagreements and squabbles, but we are a welcoming, supportive and accepting bunch who are there for each other. Carlos was an important part of the GA family who will be sorely missed, as will others who have also passed away and we try to pay tribute to them by continuing as they would want us to. We are fortunate to have the founder and group of admin that we have, they work hard to keep GA working for all of us. I believe that you have expressed what many of us feel but couldn't put into words and I thank you for that.

That was someone else's idea and I'm more than happy for them to take the lead. There will be four leaseholder associations in total which will have a better impact if we sue and hopefully, more clout in negotiations with an alternative management company. 😀

Such a beautiful picture. Your Mom is very talented and I easily understand why you treasure it.

Well, that was an interesting meeting with three other leaseholder associations. It appears that we are all having very similar problems with the same building management company. They even threatened to evict a leaseholder from one building! This both angered me and made me laugh as they cannot evict a leaseholder and they are the employees of the leaseholders. We also had a 'whistleblower' attend who gave us some very interesting information regarding the new owners of the building management company. It appears they are syphoning money from our fees to prop up the company after an unsuccessful project and the buyout instead of managing the buildings as agreed. We have all agreed to consult with our individual associations regarding sacking the present company and contracting a new company. This has already been agreed in principle, we now need the signatures to make it official. Everything should be resolved within the next two months and we may take legal action against them. The 'whistleblower' is a former employee who we all know and have confidence in. I'm hoping they will be part of this move forward for the leaseholders and intend to use whatever influence I have to facilitate that. The future of our building management is looking a lot better. Sorry for the rant guys, I needed to get it off my chest.

You are doing the same for your Mom as I did for my Dad, I believe they do know and that it brings them some comfort. It is what we do for the parents we love, you are doing the right thing for your Mom. I hope it will give you some comfort when you reach the end of the road you are travelling. I feel for you, you are not alone, we are all here when you want or need us.

Hiya Terry, work-wise things are starting to ease up which I'm happy about. But life has its ways of creating blips along the way, lol. My meeting tomorrow evening should be interesting. I have been getting on with some writing and nearly finished another chapter, another day or so should do it. After reading Bearpaw I'm considering if I should take up fishing, lol, but there is no fishing in my story or shooting baddies, my characters prefer to go the way of the dragon, lol

Given the circumstances, I can understand Jubal's feelings of trepidation on meeting the sheriff, but the man has to do his job and appears to have done it fairly while getting all the details needed. Jubal is now in a better position than when he met Lucas, but I'm sure Jubal would have preferred for none of it to have happened. I was hoping that there would be rewards for the thieves and I wasn't disappointed, this will also benefit Lucas which I'm sure he will be thankful for. It looks like there may be something between Lucas and the sheriff, I hope it doesn't cause problems for, or disappoint, Jubal. Thank you for another great chapter, I look forward to Bearpaw Mondays. I've never been keen on fishing, maybe I should rethink if it helps with getting to know good-looking lawmen

I've just had a very interesting phone call from the chairman of the leaseholders association in the building next to the one I live in. Apparently, he is meeting with two other chairmen of leaseholder associations that are near to us. They all use the same building management company as we do and are having similar problems. As chairman of our leaseholder association, I have been invited to their meeting next Tuesday, I have accepted as it could be very interesting, I'll let you know what happens.

We have to use the intercom to ask a neighbour to let us in remotely. It is easy enough to do but very inconvenient and not what we pay for. As each lease-holder owns a part of the freehold we engage a property management company to maintain the security and entry systems and provide a cleaning and maintenance service for the communal areas. They have always been good, but about twelve months ago they were bought out by another company. Since then, the service has deteriorated and is no longer acceptable, which means the leaseholders must meet and agree to any action. That in itself is a time-consuming process.

Everything will work out, it will just take time. It is just so damned annoying.
-
The entry system for the apartments that I live in broke down when building management got it repaired we discovered that now resident's fobs to gain entry no longer work and we have been told that it will be at least a week before it is resolved. Our complaints are falling on deaf ears which is not good, we pay a high service charge to the building management company for a service which they are not providing. This is just latest fiasco that we have experienced. If we can get enough lease-holders to agree we will sack them and find a different building services management company.
-
Aloha Albert, I hope you're having a better day than I'm experiencing

Hola Spike, hi everyone. It's one of those days where it could be better, but I have had much worse. But if had access to a gun I'd put the building management team in front of a firing squad, lol

I haven't tried it yet, but I will after I do my next shop as I have to buy a couple of the ingredients. I'm looking forward to trying it as it is a different variety of bread which I like.
