Why, thank you, young Albert! You've just made an old man very happy! You say the nicest things. 0:)
-
No.... But your profile picture looks like you might be standing next to water...
-
I am indeed, Albert! Thanks for asking.
-
Excellent!
-
Looks like you misunderstood me, Bob. The strawberries were home grown, but the dairy ice cream was store bought. Sowwie!
-
Hey, young Albert Hope all's well with you, my friend.

I keep forgetting about all the time differences between us all. Well, I hope you had a great day, then!
-
Not yet. We might go out later and chase some light. Otherwise, I've a walk planned around a small lough in the Ox Mountains tomorrow. TN will be with me for that and, assuming the light behaves itself, I'm expecting to he'll prove his worth. You anything exciting planned for the day?

G'day, Bucket

I enjoyed this story the first time round, and will continue to do so. The interesting thing was that Nick originally intended the first chapter to be a stand alone chapter. The readers were that enthralled by it that they begged him to continue the story of Andrew and Ian's blossoming relationship. I don't think anyone was disappointed when Nick decided to do just that.

Morning, all! A bit more cloudy than yesterday here in the West of Ireland. But still dry and currently a pleasant 15°C/59°F, which will probably rise 3 or 4 degrees C before the end of the day. Hope everyone's well.

After worrying that the strawberries were going to stay green forever, the current very welcome spell of sunny weather has them all ripening at once. If you lived closer you would be welcome to some of them. As it is, I may just finish up having to make jam with the excess. 🍓 🍓 🍓 🍓 🍓 🍓 🍓 🍓 🍓 🍓 🍓 🍓 🍓 🍓 🍓 🍓 🍓 🍓 🍓 🍓 🍓 🍓 🍓 🍓 🍓 🍓 🍓 🍓 🍓 🍓 🍓 🍓 🍓 🍓 🍓 🍓 🍓 🍓 🍓 🍓

It's currently coming up to 10:20 pm here in the West of Ireland. The sun's not long since set, so I'm sitting outside in the gathering dusk. The temperature's a balmy 15°C (59°F) and there's a lovely red glow on the horizon, marking the sunset. Tucking in to a bowl of strawberries (from my own plants) and real dairy vanilla ice cream. 🍓 Heaven on earth!

Good evening, Gary! Well it doesn't seem as though you were that busy that you tired him out. Hope he didn't make you do all the lifting.

The usual problem with transplants is trying to prevent the host body from rejecting the transplanted donor organ. In this case, though, there's a distinct possibility that the donated brain would reject the host body it had been transplanted into...

No you're not. You're stereotyping!

It's been happening to me occasionally for the past few weeks. Not all the time, but probably more often than not. It's not just with story comments that it's happening, but also for forum comments. The annoying thing is that if I don't spot it when it happens, and then try to make comments to other posts in the same forum, I find the comment box has my previous comment still in it, and even if I delete it out, I can't post a new comment. The Submit Reply button isn't available, instead the Editor still claims that it is trying to save the comment. The only solution seems to be to refresh my browser, as a few other posters have already said in this thread. I'm using Google Chrome [Version 75.0.3770.100 (Official Build) (64-bit)] on Windows 8.1 [with all available security updates installed]. Below is a screenshot I took last Sunday showing an example of this problem. As can be seen, my comment has already been posted, but the comment is still shown as being saved in the Editor box.

I do not even begin to consider the fact that I may occasionally scratch my head to be a problem. 😛

*Gulp!* That so did not go as I expected. I feel bad about Brendan. The only good thing about the manner of his death was that he actually saved Lane from whatever that thing was that Phil had become. Hopefully Lane can get to Aldermore Cove before Vanessa succumbs to her cancer. And hopefully she will have some answers for him. Looking forward to the second episode.

I think his doctors need to check they're giving him the correct meds...

Well, I certainly didn't see that coming! I'm just wondering how much of the last month Brendan has to live is now left for him to try to help Lane. Assuming he can actually help him... (Oh! And I've only just noticed the zombie tag in the story description. I don't normally bother reading zombie stories, so I'm actually glad I didn't spot it earlier, as I'm actually enjoying this story.) As an aside: I was glad to see you starting to use italics for people's thoughts in this chapter, @ValentineDavis21. They certainly make things easier to follow.

Curiouser and curiouser... So it seems like Charlie only exists inside the dark recesses of Lane's mind. Or is it that the memory of him only exists there? I also get the feeling that there is something more about the relationship between Lane and his adoptive mother than we are being told (of course, I could be completely wrong there). And just who is Vanessa, how did she now so much about Lane, and can she really do anything to help him. The fact that she says she lives in Aldermore Cove is probably going to be of significance anyway (if only because of the actual title of this story). We were told in chapter one that Brendan had only a month left to live. I certainly don't want him to die. And if he does have to die, I would rather it be from natural causes rather than at Lane's hands. Or am I missing something Will there be a new unexpected twist to this tale?

I'm wondering about the significance of the tattoos as well. Particularly the Grim Reaper one on his back. Twice in this chapter Lane seems to have a 'memory' of having his head being forced under water. In his dream whoever/whatever was doing it to him seems not to be human. I've a feeling this is important to the plot. I'm also wondering if the fact that Lane was adopted may be of significance... Yep, @ValentineDavis21, you've drawn me into this story!

I'm really glad to hear that, Albert.

G'day, Drew-pi-doo Nice day here in the West of Ireland. Drop of rain overnight, and a very light breeze today; making the day feel not so humid as the past few have been.
