    Good Intentions

Well, think of who Troy is when he's not under soul-crushing stress. When he's the person in the Journal. He's slowly turning back into that guy. He'll be changed, somewhat, but he won't be in such a reactive frame of mind as he was when we first met him. That said ... nobody likes being tricked. We'll have to see what develops between our guys when it comes out what Grant has done. Thanks for the comment! 🙂

It feels like Grant might have gone just a tiny bit too far, eh? That seems to be the prevailing opinion here. Though a few good things happened. Troy's not homeless anymore, his van is getting fixed - for less than he thought, and Grant gets that inner glow a person feels when they help somebody. Sort of a mixed bag, eh? Thanks for the comment, Chris. 🙂

Thanks, JACC! I'm happy you enjoy the story. It was great fun to write, but it's probably more fun to respond to readers of the work. 🙂 So, thanks for commenting!

If you agreed with the reasoning of every character then that'd be a very boring story. So I'm happy you don't quite agree with Mr. Meddler Grant. Good theory concerning Brian. Time will tell if you're right! Thanks for the comment!

Thanks for taking the time to read back through again, Butcher. I'm glad it's still a fun read to you. Troy is indeed back home. It may not be how he envisioned things, but maybe this is what he needs. We'll see, eh? Thanks, again!

    Good Intentions

Frankly, I'm very glad to hear you are anxious when this story updates. 🙂 In the eyes of almost everybody, yeah ... Grant overstepped in a big way. And from the messaging Grant sent Brian, you're probably right about his friend thinking Troy has his home back! Oh, Grant ... what have you done, you goofy thing? Grant has done a lot for Troy, but all of this stuff ... man. It's adding up. How will Troy take it if he finds out? I suppose that's why you're anxious, eh? 🙂 Thanks for reading!

We can convince ourselves of just about anything if we try hard enough. Grant did exactly that, a few times! lol. It is a bit soapy, isn’t it? Thanks for reading and commenting, droughtquake!
  8. 16 November 2018, Friday 6:40 a.m. A gentle knock on his bedroom door startled Grant awake. He sat up and rubbed his eyes. "Yeah? Hello?" "Hey, Grant? Uh, are you late?" It was Troy's voice on the other side of the door. Grant swung his legs over the edge of the bed and padded across the large area rug over the hardwood floor. The house had been warm when he had gone to bed, so he only wore his briefs. He opened the door a little. "Hey. No, I don't work Fridays." He blinked in the la

Thanks, Tom. I'm not sure what has gotten into both Thorn and me, but chapter seven is ready to go. I'll go through it a few more times though, so it's as pretty as it can be. So, by Sunday I'll be able to tee up a really sweet chapter for everybody. 🙂 Thanks for reading, and for sticking around!
  10. Really cool! I'm impressed you got a picture of it!
  11. At least you know what is going on. Feel better, Kitt.
  12. This song isn't about sex. Instead it's Avi Kaplan's voice that just makes me want to throw myself at him.
  13. These are all very nice and the imagery vivid. Well done, Parker.

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. It means a lot to me that you would. That had to be horrible, and I know your life felt like it was over. But ... what a beautiful thing, to have people with nothing to gain reaching for you. Lifting you. Helping. That's the best face of humanity. I'm sorry for all of the precious things you lost, but I'm really glad people stepped up to help you and those you love. Troy did already let down some of his guard. It took Grant being patient and kind, but it finally happened. It needed to happen! He was hurting in a bad way. And yes, to Grant it just made him happy to help. He's a giver ... and not just because he's finding himself attracted to Troy. It's just who he is. Thanks again for the comment. I'm glad you're enjoying the story.

I'm glad I could make you grin. 😄 Ahhh, I'm so glad you can see how Troy is becoming T again. It gets more apparent down the line, but this is our first glimpse of the real him ... where he's not under so much stress that he's barely holding himself together. Yes, he's a nice guy. He went to help Mr. Burgess without settling on a cost for the work. He just agreed and went. Heh. Troy is acutely aware of what he owes, who he owes it to, and he strives to pay it back as soon as possible. It is rather how his mind works. Funny ... he doesn't really keep tabs on what others owe him the same way. I mean, he tracks money ... but not time, effort, and energy he spends on someone else. I hope that makes sense. Troy didn't feel sorry for himself at all. You're right. Grant is being shown some things about himself, and he's not quite prepared for what he's learning. He has an awareness of some physical attraction, but ... yeah, he's really not ready to actually deal with it. Gavin and who he is will be revealed ... with time. 🙂 And why be nervous? I'm always kind and sweet to my character... eh. Okay, I can see why you might be nervous. Thanks for the great comments. And I'll be sure @Thorn Wilde knows you appreciate him!

Thanks, Parker. Troy is beginning to feel like he has a bit more control over his own life, and yes, he's also feeling more relaxed with Grant. Grant got a bit of a lesson on Troy, and that he is more than his situation. Grant knows that intellectually, but he needed the reminder, and Troy was happy to give it to him. Troy was kind about it, but he's also not willing to remain the man Grant first met. There's a lot more to come for them both. 🙂

Ahhhh, you noticed that, eh? I've added little hints here and there concerning Grant's history and this is just one of them. There was another in chapter five ... when he was making the eggs. There will be more too, so down the line a certain reveal makes more sense. It will still be a few chapters before we get to a full reveal of Grant's history, but it's coming. And when it does it will make sense. Thanks for reading, and for the comment!

Yep, Troy seems very determined to pull his own weight. Yes, he accepted a hand up, but he refuses to let things go without repaying Grant. Well, Mr. Burgess may have tried to put that window in on his own thanks to his previous interaction with Troy. But, yes ... now that Troy came through for him, things seem a lot better. 🙂 Thanks, Chris!

Has someone warned you about the evil Wayne Gray? Would I be so terrible as to warrant such caution? *giggle*

14 November 2018, Wednesday 7:23 p.m. Grant extended his hands. "Here. Let me take those." Troy held a towel around his waist with one hand while the other clutched the filthy clothes he had just removed. Grant couldn't entirely hide his disgust of them, and Troy didn’t blame him. Though it still made Troy ashamed. Regardless, Grant took them, held the wadded ball of clothing at arms-length, and started for the stairs. "Sorry." Troy grimaced. "I can do it." Grant shook his head as he

Thanks, Tom! We'll get to it. Thorn got the edit to me early ... and I may be feeling generous. Maybe. The night is still young.

Yes, no falling off parts allowed! They wouldn't be sex zombies if important bits fell off, now would they? Don't worry, they're "well-equipped" to handle whatever might "come" their way! I'm ashamed of myself, but not enough to avoid posting this.
