Well I was wrong about that. After all the activity in the previous chapter I was expecting this to be all talk and explanations. Adam certainly had interesting past relationships but Dan coming clean about his secret love affair for his lifelong friend Steven was a really major trust. Loved the humour in the whole date thing; could you be any more obvious? Lol. And of course getting caught in the act by Kyle and Joe. The song selections by Kyle are awesome too. I suspected at the beginning that Steven might have been harbouring the same thoughts for his friend Dan. If so, he's probably jealous of the fun Dan is having with Adam. I'm thinking Lisa may be becoming the third wheel without realising it. Great story I. So much happening. Want more.

Boy that chapter never let up. The close call at the tent, Adam flying off the handle at Dan for implying he needed to be drunk to sleep with him, Joeys faggot remarks and all the shouting scenes that were clearly overheard by the surrounding campers. Adams angry scene fighting with Joey, the breakup and finally the date. This next chapter has a lot to compete with but I'll be happy with just hearing some explanations of what that was all about.

That reactions appeared a pretty realistic depiction for a first timer like Dan. Letting off the brakes a little at first and being so uncertain when to reapply. Brake often and early is not an uncommon approach to begin with. 😉 Adam had obviously misjudged Dan's lack of experience based on how hot he looked. Once Adam realised, he became really caring and sensitive and allowed Dan to go entirely at his own pace with few expectations apart from a kiss and hopefully a cuddle. I can definitely relate to the love at first site. Not sure if it differs to infatuation if it goes both ways.

Sailing...made me laugh. Looks like Dan is over Steven and Lisa already. Nothing like alcohol and recreational drugs to loosen your inhibitions. Almost unmistakable looks from Adam during the singing. But Karl warning Dan to be good to his mate Adam about hits any doubt about their gayness, out of the park. I suppose Joey knows about his older brothers sexuality but how will Steven and Lisa react. That's the real unknown. Interesting tale I.

Oh god. Being a third wheel in this situation sounds dreadful. Having Adam around for company will be a lifesaver even if it's just as friends. Intriguing start I.

So Cade is using his son Nisi as a lab rat to get rich. And there's a frightening unknown werewolf who wants to become the town Alpha donating wolf blood to Cade to make some super drug to heal and strengthen humans. That would likely be the Beta wouldnt it? How can they stop Milan from getting his next shot of poison? Rory has to bite Milan on his birthday in a few weeks.

That was a great ending Gary but only if you really mean it as an ending to Book 1. I'm trying my best to look upon what I have left. I so want to view it as a glass that was once full and not one, that is now empty. So on a positive note, I'm so pleased that I contacted you a while back, based on the comments that you had left, on other stories. A few days earlier I had a hankering to search out a wolf story for some strange reason. I'm not sure why. Then by sheer coincidence I found out that not only were you an author but that the story you had unwittingly recommended to me was a wolf story: this one. Now that was a major coincidence to me, a destiny as big as anything that mother earth has had to offer. 😉 Anyone who reads my chapter 1 response will know just how elated I was from the very beginning. In fact we all were. So much so, there were 3 full pages of comments professing how great this story was. Something I hadn't seen before. The shifter world that you created Gary was so rich in detail and with traditions and features that I had never before seen and it was all so real. What an amazing protagonist you gave us in Kellar. The way you introduced Tobyn and all the other characters that we gradually came to love, held us captive. The mystical ways of mother earth as a caring guardian of her magical Shifter races. All the different roles of Alpha, Keeper, Seer, Healer and Pack Council just added so much more. Then there were the monstrous Hunters and their barbaric attrocities and traditions to contend with. So many mysteries to resolve with a grey wolf that couldn't shift back, interactions with other packs, the uses of silver and copper and so much more. Your intimate love scenes where colors began their inexorable synchronised dance were extraordinarily vivid to imagine and blew me away. But best of all was the utopia that you created, of a caring, understanding race of beings where bigotry and hate were alien concepts held entirely by outsiders. It really is no wonder that so many of your readers want to return to this world Gary. I truly hope that you can take us there again some day.

So the Matriarchs are all important to the lineage of the saviours. Esther would not stop at her two sons. She needed her daughter and Gisla did everything she knew was necessary to fulfil her destiny. I guess Fendral now knows this better than anyone. He can't undo his past mistakes but he can make sure that his wife, daughter and generations of his ancestors are represented as well as they can be in Kellar's grandfather. Time for the final step...

I also just realised that Kellar doesn't need to worry about the responsibilities of being a full time Alpha. Gramps is back to do that for him. Isnt family wonderful 😂

Family and lineage can be such a great thing to behold. The grandfather, grandson exchange is such a fitting part of the conclusion of this tale. I've always loved the line: Your old men will dream dreams. Your young men will see visions. When the cycle of life is respected, both young and old have have a lot to gain from eachother. Young men can gain wisdom from their elders without having to repeat the mistakes of the past. The elderly can share in the younger generation's joy of life and dream for their future. There has always been a major emptiness in Kellar's life. He's missed his entire family and hearing many of those missing stories from his living grandfather would be beyond his wildest dreams. It's an emptiness that is equally matched by Fendral. For so long he has lived with the grief that his wife and children had died in vain. What wonders await him when he awakes and realises that he is able to embrace and talk to his incredible grandson: not only a grandson but a saviour, a healer and an Alpha beyond any. One that is very much alive and very much part of their future. Great chapter Gary. Hope you're recovering too.

Is that wolf blood that is poisonous to humans or wolf blood that has been poisoned? I assume the first.

Sounds like someone is supplying Kiyo with a wolf blood derivative. Feel sorry for the poor kid being locked up like a lab rat. At least Milan gets to live with his family. Kiyo is probaly just self absorbed in his work with no time for social graces. He must have some redeeming qualities that we haven't yet seen otherwise the smart, attractive Llaria would not be with him still. I bet a local werewolf is getting paid handsomely for the blood supplies. Two people from the school including the dark wolf in the chase, possibly?

I'm not so sure the lone black wolf is a killer. It may be just one of a couple of teachers from school tasked with monitoring Chris and Rory after the fight. One of June's security mob perhaps? At last Rory and Milan are getting to spend free time together, to get to know eachother. Funny that Rory can't help himself from running his fingers through Milans dark wavy hair. Milan has got used to it too. Just ducking underneath Rory's hand, without comment, when he's busy air painting or whatever. At long last, Rory gets to kiss Milan. Im sure that there will be one less petal on his wristband in the morning. Only 3 more to go. Its anyones guess what Rory will have to do to earn those 😘

I told you it upset me...my judgement included. Lol. I generally read these chapters through once only or I start to over think things. I'd convinced myself that it was Fendral's son and not daughter that was Kellar's parent. Like my teachers were often fond of reminding me at school: "Shows potential but can do better !!!" 😅

That was probably the saddest chapter in this story. The Hunter's legacy of cruelty is never ending. I'm not sure I would want the gruesome details like Kellar got to hear. And to think there are hundreds more atrocities like this to be told. So Kellar's striking half white and chestnut coat came from his mother's all chestnut and father's all white Wolf coats and his size from his father. Fendral must have known Kellar was his grandson or close relative back at the cabin? He now looks exactly like Fendral's son. If so why did he shy away from him? It can't be that he has lost his mind completely because he is hanging close now as if he has something he wants to share. It's such a Mystery. You upset me heaps with this one G. I think I probably took it worse than Kellar. Hope you're recovering buddy. I'm glad to have you back at the helm

Yeah Chris has had nearly a decade without his mom because of a human. To a kid finding something or someone to blame is an important coping mechanism. In a closed community those prejudices may never really get challenged, as few can see a need to confront them. But as soon as people matching Chris's prejudice come along, it's suddenly time for for Chris to grow and confront his childhood coping mechanisms. They'll all get over this and be a lot stronger for having stuck together. Of course, Milan's family are now going to think the worst of Rory for not coming back to visit Milan. It sure is an uphill struggle for Rory and Milan right now.

No wonder its so difficult for Milan to meet and keep friends. His family are way too overprotective and need to back off and allow Milan to have a life. That's an interesting bracelet his grandmother has given Rory. I guess there are going to be more challenging times ahead for Rory where he will need enormous help against people messing with his mate.

I like the intensity brought about by Rory's barely contained need to surround and protect his mate. He's a powerhouse of a teenager barely in control of his emotions. However, he has met his match in Rowan who is a character i really like. She appears diminutive but boy can she pack a punch with those mystical powers of hers. The only youth who dares put Rory in his place. And he is a little wary of her too. She has definitely seen something of interest in Milan as a friend. That she can taunt Rory with that, is a never ending source of joy for her. I expect they'll all end up really good friends. Jack is turning out to be a great guide for Milan too. Milan has to be pleased with how his first day at the school went. He's got a wild dark haired macho besotted with him and he is already focusing on those eyes. Rory must surely have an insane grin looking at that drawing.

Milan is having a good first day at school, so far. Jack is turning out to be a dependable friend and guide despite being manhandled by Rory. Milan' s personality is winning over Rowen despite her initial dislike for Milan. She must have a thing for Rory and is jealous his attention is focused on the new kid. Milan' s has a strength of character way beyond the frailty of his health. Something that Rory and Rowen will come to admire. I just wonder what all the kids think of Rory and Milan. I assume they know this is their future alpha and his prospective human mate. Jack and his mates didn't seem to be perturbed by Milan not sitting with them so they must understand Rory's right to dominate the lunch hall with his mate. Rory is delighted with Milans cultural proclivity for social kissing. He's going to really get used to that about Milan. I can see Milan having to rebuke Rory loads about invading his personal space; well not too much 😉 Maybe we will see more belligerent attitudes towards Milan in the afternoon.

Kiyo is at the very least, an overly protective control freak that needed to be told how rude he was treating his son's friend. Why the urgency to rush through this experimental treatment which is clearly causing Milan more pain? Rory really needs to witness that Kiyo is acting in good faith or there will need to be some tough choices made to protect Milan. Kiyo may end up getting a dose of his own medicine. Let's hope Milan and Rory get more free talk time at school.

And there goes Marie's chances of becoming the daughter in law.
