Chapter 26: Godly Guidance
Quixo commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 26: Godly Guidance
Better and better. So perhaps this is how the divinity affinity manifests itself. The gods can slip in and out of a properly symbiotic host. Was Stefan's interest in this because he wanted to try to force something like this for himself, or does he also have the affinity to be a receptor? Hmmm. Could we see a battle between the gods taking place between 2 unconscious receptors? Maybe I'm going too far down this path. Very anxious to see how this plays out. And then there's Kaplan. Poor guy. He just has no idea how much love is already focused on him. So strong as an attorney, but so afraid of his own worth as a person. This is the damage that comes from his first Alpha. I think we will see huge changes in him as he accepts more from those around him, especially Cyrus. This is going to be great! -
Chapter 25: Celestial Circumstances
Quixo commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 25: Celestial Circumstances
Never saw that one coming! WTH! Somewhere I seem to remember That Stefan came to the library looking for information about shadow and divinity affinities. Hmmm. Will this be something that just happens to Vincent, or does this become something he can control? That will be interesting to explore. And what is the reason for such divine intervention? Especially from the god of balance. Never a dull moment with you. Oh yeah, Kaplan coming out to Cyrus was cool too! May he start to know the love he's been so starved for. -
Chapter 24: Pitiless Panda
Quixo commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 24: Pitiless Panda
You manage to cram a lot into each. Chapter. The whole setting up of Shaw, and hooking in Ingle into Stefan's machinations is brilliant. And getting more of Kaplan's story is great. I especially feel for him since I had a good friend who was rather small and gay guys used to hit on him all the time. He was usually flattered and would politely decline. Once, at a party, someone slipped him something in his drink and I had to rescue him. I got him out of there before anything happened, but he was pretty loopy for a while. He cried in my arms for a couple of hours because he felt safe and knew I wouldn't take advantage. I never found out who slipped him the mickey and I'm glad. I would have wanted to zap him through the heart as well. -
Chapter 23: Alpha Arriving
Quixo commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 23: Alpha Arriving
Can a wolf be adorable? Just when I thought I couldn't love Vincent more, his wolf is delightful. His energy is just like puppy (not unusual, considering that he kind of is,) but also so like Vincent, curious, delighted with every new thing, and horny. Looks like there will be some wild times ahead for Vincent and Mace. And there is something about Cyrus that is very affable, even from the beginning. Something tells me that there is a lot more to him that we have yet to learn about. Every chapter is full of surprises. Fantastic reading! -
Chapter 22: Virulent Voices
Quixo commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 22: Virulent Voices
This chapter is like nothing else I've ever read! In any of the past shifter stories, the actual journey, the transition has never been so incredibly described. The whole mental process and the conversation between the wolves is awesome! (And I don't use that word often.) Mind blown! And still through all of it, you have continued to infuse everyone with such deep caring and love. So glad I've found your stories! I look forward to continuing reading the rest of this one and several more beyond. -
Surprised. Not surprised. Shaw trying to be a double agent manipulated by Stefan didn't surprise me. He is obsessed, but he doesn't seem as smart as other literary obsessives like Javert or Chauvelin. He's also not smart enough to understand just how in over his head he is. Do Mason and the rest of the pack really believe Shaw would back down and be repentant that easily? I have my doubts. It seemed too easy and pat for me. I know I don't trust Shaw at all. There is enough hubris in him to put him in for quite a fall. Something that did occur to me from a few chapters back, when the Owensville pack has to face Stefan, they will do it with 3 mages - Vincent, Elaine, and Ty. Something tells me that it will take all three of them. Or is Ty's wanting to retire with his Beta and Enforcer just a ruse? Oooo. You have me thoroughly tangled in the web you've spun. Loving this.

Chapter 18: Sentimental Supper

And dammit! I'm a puddle again. You, sir, are the real magician. -
Chapter 17: Feelings Found
Quixo commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 17: Feelings Found
And now I'm a puddle. The simple everyday moments that are extraordinary because you're doing something ordinary with someone you love. Perfection. And I may be changing my opinion of Kaplan. (Or maybe a very clever writer is making me lower my guard.) -
Chapter 15: Wizardly Waltz

Spectacular in the truest sense of the word! Getting to experience the Mage's Dance was fantastic! I'm falling for all of these characters more and more with every chapter. -
Chapter 14: Magical Meeting
Quixo commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 14: Magical Meeting
AACCKK! I've been waiting to get to this part, but now I have to go to work. I guess I'll have to wait until tonight when I get home. You have the ability to write with such joy and affection. The love throughout, and especially in this chapter, is wonderful. -
Another packed chapter! You certainly covered a lot of ground in this one. Vincent seems to have an inner calm that not even he realizes. Is that part of him being a mage?. Even with his interrogation by Shaw, he kept more of his outward cool than might have been expected. Of course, reading about the magic, and new manifestations of it, is always fascinating. I'm looking forward to what else we get to learn about everyone's abilities. I also just adore Caleb. (Did I mention that before?) His devotion and loyalty are endearing enough, but there is just a bit of the goofy side to him that makes him all the more appealing. Enjoying it all and can't wait to get to more.

You have traced a remarkable journey for Eric. He has made such progress for a person who was so shut up in himself. For someone whose automatic response to anything new or different was"no", at least the protective shell is opening up a little. I'm glad that you didn't write any false cathartic moment for Eric suddenly bursting out of his introversion. He is adapting and evolving slowly, in his own way, with occasional prodding. It has left me every bit as eager to follow his journey. I do hope you realize that you're no where near the end with him. 😉

Chapter 11: Fierce Flames
Quixo commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 11: Fierce Flames
I am loving following as this story unfolds! I am so glad to be introduced to your writing. I am decidedly a fan. On the other hand, maybe I'm suspicious by nature, but I have warning bells going off from the New York contingency. Hope I'm wrong. -
Chapter 10: Shimmering Stars
Quixo commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 10: Shimmering Stars
So wonderful! But I have a sense of trepidation about the upcoming pack meeting. Darkness and fire. Why do I feel an unexpected visit might be in the works? -
Yeah! What Patch 1 said!

Chapter 6: Improper Interrogation
Quixo commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 6: Improper Interrogation
Just gets better and better. Vincent if awfully accepting of everything that is being thrown at him. I guess he really is that smitten. And I think I'm really liking Caleb. -
Chapter 5: Reckless Reveal
Quixo commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 5: Reckless Reveal
Your sense of pacing is excellent. Keeping a fast-paced story moving along without making personal interactions and transitions seem rushed, is quite a feat. I feel myself feeling more for Vincent than Mace at the moment, but that is going to be the way with any characters. Some will draw some readers, and some others. I hope that Mace lives up to his promises to Vincent, I somehow think there are more pieces to all this that he has yet to reveal. -
Chapter 4: Tender Touches
Quixo commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 4: Tender Touches
Ah, nothing like some hot wolf sex! Yeah, I am beginning to see Vincent call hold his own. And as for the last, Mama always knows. -
Wow! Moving really fast. I hope that Vincent can keep up. "Mason placed the engine in park. They were at Beansies, but the wolf needed to calm his little mage. " And Mason's wolf may need some calming down. I don't think Vincent is going to be quite so docile or surrendering if Mace pushes his possessiveness too far or too fast.

Chapter 1: Dark Discoveries
Quixo commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 1: Dark Discoveries
I saw your latest post for the third story of this series and figured I should start at the beginning. You have me hook, line, and sinker. I'm loving this! The characters, the plot lines, the magic, and the humor. I'm very much looking forward to the next chapters. Thank you for luring me in. -

It is hard for me to read about acts of vindictiveness, even when it is inflicted upon such monsters. I understand it. But I don't think I could be a witness to it. It somehow diminishes those carrying out the justice. What price justice?

Eric is slowly being coaxed out of his shell. Rob seems patient yet firm about helping him out. And Rob seems to understand he needs to let Eric set his own pace. I'm glad that you haven't rushed any of this in your writing. Eric's not the kind of person to have any sudden turning point and emerge in full bloom suddenly. There is something so beautifully comfortable about these characters and their own journeys. Thank you.

A lot all coming to a head at once. Even though we all knew it was coming, the when and how where left to your mastery. There are definitely more explosions on the way, but what a great set-up. Will Felicity have the courage and emotional resources to finally make her break from Oliver permanent? How much can Emily get involved without this sucking too much of her energy away from her? What are Adam and Andy going to have to take on in addition to their wedding plans to deal with psycho Oliver? And what of the troubled young man who vandalized Eric's cottage? And why do I have a hunch that Eric may have a moment of assertiveness coming to him by the end of this? Can't wait to read more.

My suspicious mind set off alarms over the whiskey. Don't drink or eat anything you didn't bring in yourself, just in case it's been tampered with. But I guess this time it worked out OK. Still, the Sentinels are dancing around enemy territory. Can't be too cautious.
