  1. Mason tumbled to the ground and clutched his chest. The pain was intense as blood seeped through his fingers. His mate had attacked him! Before Mason could stand, Vincent tackled him once again. Both hybrids scratched and bit, one more intensely than the other. Need space! At the first opportunity, he kicked Vincent’s midsection. The white wolf flew a few yards and landed hard. Slow, warned Mason’s animal. Preparing for another wild charge, he took preemptive action. Guilt riddled Mas
  2. Love the reference to the 9-5 world, and it made me think of so many more options I could have used in the entry! If you need your car looked at, gotta be during the day! Bank? Day. Doctor? Day. DMV? Day. Court? Day. Job interview? Day. Then you got the concept of drinking alcohol! Oh, boy! Noah gets on to me for coming home at 6:30am and fixing a rum and Coke. Plus, I can wake up at eight in the evening, start drinking, and I won't be judged at all! (Now, that's a sign for a fun night!) Nonsense about soap boxing! It's a ranting journal. We're ranting, and the floor is open! Write an essay in the comments, bud! We want feedback and ideas on topics for retail horse-hockey that happens in the world.
  3. When in the hybrid form, either mind can be in control. Well, as far as Vincent's problem...me thinks next chapter will explain a plenty. But I believe it is safe to say that our hero has no control or say in his hybrid's actions at the moment.
  4. Ooof, he's throwing private education shade, now? Y'all see what I put up with? I'm kidding! He's alright… But as I sit here in this barber shop while Noah gets himself together, I wanted to chat about my overnight life. Everyone in my life finds it...different. Been on the third shift for almost a year now, and my mom still struggles with it for a variety of reasons. The big one that I combat on a regular is the stereotyping. A lot of people see overnight workers as the denizens of the
  5. Always appreciate kind words! Happy to bring an entertaining read for ya! I tried to keep the characters simple, but give them their distinct personalities that everyone can understand. You're right to assume! Nailed it on the head, sir! Update coming within the week!
  6. Both Vincent and his wolf share a subconscious within his head, allowing each one to take control of Vincent's body as they want/need. But after toying with the mysterious barrier and causing it to break, the minds had to come together, or face losing each other. But as it stands now, neither Vincent or his wolf are in control! Whether this is a third mind, or just the animal instincts taking control, our heroes have come across a fearsome challenge. (the hybrid doesn't have a mind that can compute thoughts into a voice, like Vincent and his wolf, it's just pure instinct) I hope you had a Happy New Year as well! And the next chapter will be worked on this evening when I'm on break at work, promise! I'm sorry...but I'm dyin' here! The abominable Hybrid SnowWolf Alpha Mage Mate!!! This...this made my day! Like...I'm struggling to focus on responding to the rest of this comment! HA! Poor Mason and Cyrus. They just wanted to get some sleep. And now they need to fight an Alpha Hybrid that's acting on pure animal instinct. They couldn't even get a cup of coffee! But I hope that the seriousness has set in for the readers. Imagine a hybrid wolf...now combine that with Vincent's powers. As my husband would say, "OOOOOOHH! This finna be lit!"
  7. Ha! I definitely needed a cigarette when I posted the chapter! Well, now I have to admit that I wouldn't mind tracing my finger over Cyrus' arm tats...huh...oh, right...answering comments... Your words of praise always lift my spirit, Patch! I wouldn't go and say third conscious though...more of just pure animal instinct coming to life! And we know it's bad since Vincent's wolf went, "Uh-oh...". Mason and Cyrus just might be in for the fight of their lives. And as long as you say I have a talent, then I'll keep writing! Trying to wrap up the next entry for DGS, and then it'll be bedtime. Thanks for your words, Patch. Really means a lot to me, bud!
  8. Arriving home, Vincent shook his head, trying to clear the echoes of the whistling wind. Ride fun! Like hunt. Mason exited the truck’s cab and reached for him. “How was your first trip in the back, Pup?” Licking the outstretched hand, Vincent enjoyed the playful rubs and scratches on his head. Mason broke off the affectionate petting, rounded the vehicle, and lowered the tailgate. “Hang on, let me bring you down. You jump and land on gravel, you’ll be in a world of pain.” Gratef
  9. Thank you so much! I love when I watch readers binge the heck out of this story. I felt there was a need to individualize the human and animal in the shifter relationship. And it turned out so great!!! I've been away from the phone since it's the husband's birthday and whatnot, but I'm about to head back to the hotel and hammer away on Chapter 30!!!
  10. Dear Grocery Shoppers, My name is Noah Fields (Hi Noah), I’m twenty-eight, and I’m the husband of your favorite author, Aaron Stone. (OMG he really exists!) And before I get into a story of my own, let me just do a quick introduction of myself. I work in retail, just as my husband has stated on the last episode of DGS. Where I work currently, I’m one of the managers and despite my fancy job title (Senior Fashion Coordinator), all it really means is key holder and in charge of all department

    Discoveries 5

AHHHH! I FORKING KNEW IT!!! Leo and August, sitting in a tree! Eff-you-see-kay- eye-enn-gee! I saw this coming from several chapters ago and I'm squealing like a school girl!!! Love the storyline, the potential plot exploration, the characters, the...everything!!! I'm gonna get caught up on this story in two day, calling it.
  12. I am both so sorry, and so happy I made you cry!!!
  13. <dark mental demon voice> No! Keep reading! Was about to comment on the last chapter and say whatchuu mean slow reader... so... "Whatchuu mean, slow reader???" Gurl, you zoomin'! You bout to hit my favorite chapter!!!
  14. Vincent's already a competent fighter at this point. Remember from Chapter 1? He debated on calling for Dave to take Mason down? Debated. I tried to string out the details. Even writing Chapter 30, I'm still building the world! I view it important to leave crumbs along the trail. And maybe one day, Mason will look into expansion...one day... Thanks for reading! I'm blowing past your story at a ridiculous pace! It's very well laid out, just needs some editing when it's all done. Feel free to reach out if you need help with it since you have a bajillion chapters
  15. Karens are just all fun and games, until they lock onto you. I always just stood there and took it it until a manager arrives. I'm confident I could handle it as a manager (plenty of experience, I just get paid more at the moment to stock groceries), but I don't get paid enough. "Hey, Buz? Ya like fish sticks?" "Yeah, I like fish sticks." "AHHH! Buz likes fish dicks!!!" Oh no...when the cuties attack! That's gotta be the worst. I've seen a hot hunky handsome firefighter come in and get super mad at the self checkouts. Oh no...yous might be abusive...now I have to not find you sexy...but your sexy... Always love to see you, Buz!!
  16. Just plowed through so many chapters, but this one...has captured my attention. We have a strange pendant with similar features to our hero's dreams, and is given to Chris for answering a riddle in a language he had never spoken before. As the newest conspiracy theorist on the block, allow me to point some fingers. First: Chris is a seer of some sort. He has dreams, absorbing information from the tower's books, and caused an attraction from Victor. Second: Chris is gonna need his boyfriend on this, pronto! I won't just take being called 'lord' by a street vendor and handed some pendant. Nope. "Hey, Mister 260-year old vampire hunk? Whatcha know 'bout this thing?" Excellent storytelling. I'm addicted. You've set up numerous story plot points, and I'm taking notes!

    Encounters 1

Interesting introduction! We have a good look at the main character, a peek at some hot guys, and the great father-son relationship that Chris has. I've been looking for a long book to stick my nose in...
  18. And I'm happy right withcha! And oof, if ya like this cliffie, gotta keep reading! Looking forward to more comments, and thanks for reading!
  19. Oh my...I get a double helping of @Patch1?! Both here AND LitS?! This is the life. I feel as if I've made it. I...would pay top dollar to be able to get away with telling a shopper that we'd be open! That shizz wouldn't fly at any store I had ever worked for. ...they...they can get worse? Oh, dear. This is unexpected news. Now someone can make a better journal and mine would be obsolete... Oh well, I'm already invested in DGS. And daaaang! 25 years?! I've been doing it for 12-ish and already have the mentality of a drunken 45 year old Dr. Spencer Reid (Criminal Minds reference). The hubbs (he just finished the next installment, so get ready to meet Noah Fields!) says thanks for the b-day wishes and...he recommends staying away from doing all three...that just doesn't sound fun. As Patch said, some occupations attract even worse customers/consumers, and now that I think on it, I'll gladly take the dinks who struggle to find a meat department in a grocery store. Just imagining a hospital with people coming in, needing help with squeamish-inducing issues...Excuse me, sir, the meat department is over this way. I've also read little Tumblr stories on cashier horror stories and they just make me giggle. They're about terrible things, like old men ogling over teenage female cashiers, but...like I said, I'm a terrible person and find a lot of things funny. I've ways been a fan of comedy (Anthony Jeselnik and John Mulaney are my heroes and muse), so bringing it to work to use as a tool, like a box cutter, is already second nature, and I won't be forgetting it...like I do my box cutter.
  20. Of course! It's been either black ankle socks or wacky dress socks since then! We don't mention those ungodly things in my house anymore...
  21. Hi! And welcome to our journal! This is a little project my husband and I wanted to start, and we had the desire to share this adventure with you, the GA community. Just as a little heads up to you, the reader: this is a very unprofessional and one-sided journal of our personal views as we encounter strange, funny, or just plain rude experiences at our retail workplaces. My name is Aaron Stone, and I am a 27-year old overnight grocery stocker. I was raised in a log grocery store in southern
  22. Dear, Grocery Shoppers is a journal kept by Aaron Stone and his husband, Noah Fields. Here they speak about nuances, moments of self-reflection, and just silly experiences that these two men can't help but make fun of. No matter the cost to their morality and reputation, Aaron and Noah love to turn anything and everything into a laughable moment. As they work in common retail jobs, they are here to instruct the masses on proper store etiquette through comedy. There will be consumer stupidity, nonsense from co-workers, and, worst of all...Karens.
  23. That first paragraph was spun so beautifully!!! I just read that one paragraph, like...5 times. I think Stefan realized that it's not just Vincent's new wolf that's the problem... just leaving a cup of tea there... ;D It's Vincent's Turning Day! Let him do what he wants! Someone go buy the biggest dog bone they can find! He's so friggen adorable!!! Ha! It was a good day to celebrate! I can't get over Tierney just blowing past Lei, pretty much saying, "Bud, gonna really borrow the guest bedroom..." Fun on a run? Is that the PG-13 version of a soap on a rope? Dave and Dirk need mates, huh? Well what if I need content for future books, bud? Cyrus' bear is so...tame, but needy. I imagined a more playful and less harmful version of Caesar when it came to wanting things: he wants it, so he shall have it. Cock-a...doodle...do...have we fallen off the deep end, Buz? So many comments, and he's begun to lose his mind... To all y'all commenting, Hapoy New Years to you too! The hubb's pretty deep in the bottle of gin, but he's beyond happy for the birthday wishes! He's 28, and I'm 27, and he won't let it go that he's my elder. Gonna a post Dear, Grocery Shoppers here in a bit, so keep an eye on that!
  24. Oh, jeez, that's a lot of comments! Love this revelation. Imagine being reborn into a new body and being forced to discover your set of senses again. Always brilliant, sir! Not gonna lie, I struggle-bused on the hunting scene. I have never gone hunting. What? Aaron, the country gay Boy Scout boy has never gone hunting?! It's true. As much as I want to shine a spotlight on Vincentz and how this is really his wolf's birthday, I cant help but showcase other characters! Husband says, "AYYYYY, what's up Patchy Patch!" (He opened the gin he gave me for Christmas...)
  25. Oh, thank goodness! I thought this would be a Buz-less chapter comment section. Vincent's wolf, or anyone's animal for that matter, is so much fun! Cyrus has that flip switch attitude, and Kap's former Alpha found out the hard way! I'm right there with ya, bud. I wanna give Cyrus the biggest of hugs...then run my fingers along those arm tats! Woof. Buz, I think we are too stinkin' similar. I forkin' hate pain! It's painful to think about pain! Ewwwyablergh!!!! I'll see ya over on 29 then!
