  1. I forking love this comment!!! The trust has begun to build for the new council, and boy, oh boy, they finna be formidable!
  2. Buz! These comments get longer and longer, and I love it! The mage's dance is going to be fire!!! As mentioned, lions are incredibly difficult to tell apart when in their animal form. Wolves tend to have different colors of fur, while lions don't. Elaine, in short, is a badass. She's wise. She's a fierce opponent in a fight. Mason and Vincent are destined to be together, and their bond won't let them stay away from each other for much longer
  3. Oooh! I love rollercoasters too! You weren't the only watery-eyed one, Patch1! Oh, no. Thank you! I've always been one to question my ability to do anything, and it makes me smile to hear someone saying, "Stop that!" Centex, I always appreciate your comments! I greatly appreciated your message from earlier as well.
  4. “Really? I wasn’t expecting such a fast answer! I can arrange something nearer September, if that sounds good. That’ll give us about a month to make travel plans.” Somewhat shaky, Vincent barely nodded. “That sounds fine with me. I think Elaine is set on improving my frost affinity, so that gives me some time to work on that.” “Great! I’ll email my beta to clear my schedule for a few days. Once everything’s in order, I’ll send Mason the info.” Apparently struck by inspiration, a wide-e
  5. I'm sorry, but I'm pro-meme. I can't find it in myself to delete a meme.
  6. Patch1! I'm so happy I leave you wanting more! And I do my best in character development I love, and will always love your comments, Buz! Putting yourself in Tierney's (most likely) Italian leather shoes, he's done it all: leader of the most powerful pack in NA, went in the Marines and traveled the world, and has fought against every magical affinity...until now. His wolf merely wants the experience of fighting something that is spoken of in legends. Ty is a character with neutral-positive morality. He plays the good side of things, but he will want things for his own personal reasons. I'm not saying he commits unlawful deeds to do so, but like with wanting to spar with Vin, he will be giving all the information he can get his hands on about Stefan in order to get his wish. Stefan works in mysterious ways. He does as he pleases, sometimes for his own amusement, or to create drama. In regards to shadow mages in the world...there are more than just Stefan and Vincent ;D I finished this chapter earlier than I expected, and I've created numerous events that will keep our cast of characters occupied for a long time.
  7. Vincent didn't believe his eyes. He wanted to question why the librarian was there, but he knew from his boyfriend's grin the reason was obvious. Miss Elaine is… is Mrs. Wilson? Holy shit! This is crazy! She never mentioned her last name, let alone she had a son. "Miss Elaine? Y-you're Mace's mom?" Elaine smiled as she palmed the porch railing. "Yes, Vincent. I’m happy to see you outside of the library for once! Has Mason been treating you all right?” “Y-yes, ma’am.” A stern

    Chapter 7

I just binged every chapter in 20 minutes. Can't wait for this story to continue!
  9. Always good to see your compliments! I've envisioned a date between the two later in the story when Vincent builds up his stamina a bit. Ya, know...to go sightseeing ;D
  10. I've debated for the past several weeks to start a side flashback chapter to their fight, and I think I'm gonna pencil that in within the next month. I feel with the upcoming sensei/student sparring session, I feel it would be necessary to include it soon, as to showcase what a true mage's duel is all about.
  11. I am so sorry that you read through these chapters so fast! There is so much to come, and I don't see this story ending any time soon. I didn't anticipate keeping this story on this kind of pace! Like, the last several chapters have taken place over less than 24 hours! But I'm totally okay with this pace, as long as y'all are good with it. As much as I want to keep up the fast writing, I think I might take my time with this next chapter. I feel that it will be a crucial chapter, so I need to make sure it's done right. It will definitely be out within two weeks.
  12. Thank you for the comment! Elaine is a pure frost mage with no other affinities. I wanted to create a magical system that was simple, but flexible, mostly to prevent confusion for myself and others, but to leave room to play with. And I can not wait to write their first sparring match! I know it's going to be something special.
  13. This comment gave me the warm and fuzzies, Patch1! So happy you are having a good time with the story!
  14. I'm so happy you enjoyed this chapter! I fought with this one for a day or two, as I assumed it would be a very dry chapter. But I'm glad to wrong about that! In regards to a mage's presence: a mage can be detected by other mages. It becomes apparent by the skill level and affinity mastery. Elaine is, essentially, a frost affinity master. Chapter 3 mentioned she has a cold presence when others pass her by. I believe the next chapter will provide more details, as Vincent begins his training with Elaine.
  15. Caleb beamed. "Yes, Alpha!" Mason dropped the tough guy act and pulled Caleb in for a handshake and embrace. "Good to hear! You know you took this position at a rough time, right?" "I didn't know you were looking for an enforcer. I would have been the first to apply. But whatever comes at us, consider it taken care of, Alpha Wilson." "I'll fill you in on details after the meeting, but Vinnie’s hunting someone, and he just made an appearance in Owensville." A grimace replaced
  16. I used this phrase in the Make Us Laugh #2 forum in Humor, but I find "calf slobber" very amusing. A good southern phrase referring to meringue, preferably on banana pudding.
  17. @Buz You certainly know how to make a comment! I didn't want to put a quote in, since that'll take up a lot of space, but let's see if I can elaborate a bit ;D I agree with you and Mason on the omelettes! But Vincent has been eating like a bird over the years, so him seeing an egg dish the size of his head must have been bonkers! The two of them have 90% come to terms on their bond. 90%. Vincent is still a wee bit timid on being bitten, but he has begun to trust Mason after the early morning incident. And Mason is in disbelief partially due to Vincent not being the type he would normally go after (closeted jocks, per Elaine's description), and likewise for Vincent, since he can't believe Mason, this hot stud, wants the little bookworm. I've been biding my time with the human haters, as I want them to come out at the wrong, but most opportune time in the story. Chapter 7 is almost done. I need a decent ending for it. It's gonna be a somewhat dry chapter, but there will be some additional minor characters introduced, and it will create A LOT of set-up for future chapters. Just need another day, then a day for moderation. I'm so close to being out of the moderation requirement, I can smell it!!!
  18. Hello, hello! Hi! I'm Aaron! I apologize for being fashionably late to this, but better late than never, I suppose! I joined back in June, mostly as a reader, but I was working on the first couple chapters of a book, purely as a hobby. After mentioning the project to my co-workers, they told me to pursue the interest. So here I am: an over-worked grocery store stock crew member, who hasn't had two days off in the same week for over six months, who, somehow has time to crank out a new chapter about every week and a half. I always had an issue of finishing a hobby, since I get bored very quickly. But writing has been a clinger. I'm having fun, which is something that I rarely have, even though I'm a little ball of energy who can't stop smiling. And I don't see myself stopping this hobby any time soon. I think I found a nice little home here with GA. Hope you don't mind me moving in! ~Aaron Stone 🤓
  19. I just finished the first book of RwtP!!! It was soooooo good! I would throw some serious money to have a paperback copy! The other two books in the series are calling to be read, but I really want to focus on my book first. Thank you so much for the comments, guys!!!
  20. Buz! I just woke up, my hair's a mess, and your comment is the first thing I see. My day is already made! I'm always excited to read your comments! And you better get home quick...I've been typing Chapter 7 faster than any other one so far! It might be done by the end of this week...
  21. Always happy to see your approval! I wanted Vincent to have another friendly face around. What better way than to bring in a Boy Scout?
  22. Oh jeez! Thank you so much, Patch1! If you're already throwing out compliments like that, I can't wait to see what you'll be saying by the 30th chapter...
  23. What’s this man thinking? I can't eat all of this! Staring at the plate and what it held, Vincent was full of hunger and trepidation. Mason had made omelets for both of them. The alpha warned him; he only knew how to make them one way. These things are huge! He used ten eggs just for mine! I'll be lucky to eat half… He noticed Mason staring. The glare intensified as Vincent picked up the fork. Is he waiting for me to taste it? With plenty of melted cheddar, bacon crumbles, and seasonin
  24. Thank you, JeffreyL! I'm happy to say that you will see more of Leidolf and Elaine, as they are integral characters for the story. As of typing this, Chapter 6 is in moderation, so get ready!
