Chapter 25: Eerie Employment
astone2292 commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 25: Eerie Employment
Ty's EC package was such fun. I wonder if he'll ever get revenge on that pesky shadow mage for trespassing. I'm sure Stacy's thinking about it. Gotta give a girl some time to contemplate about getting bit in the neck. Vin's power is something to be jealous of. I wonder if Fort Knox is protected from shadow magic... I'm in the same boat as Carlos. @Kitt, your comments are welcome. I look at it as potential advertisement. If one of Carlos' followers sees him commenting here, it could get me a potential reader or four. With the subject of politics, as long as everything is kept professional, I'm perfectly fine with it. No bickering, finger-pointing, or calling anyone a moron. -
Nope. West Virginia. Traffic still stucks.

Zev meeting Ben was better than any sappy Hallmark movie director could concoct. Read that moment several times. Couldn't stop smiling at,"Mate!" Not going to lie, I would have spewed my Sprite if Caleb scolded Ben for his grrrrrrrr!

Ha! I'm on a 10+ hour drive to vacation and the husband's driving! Good luck keeping up with me today. If Zev is Ben's mate, I'm telling him you called his true love an ogre!

Chapter 24: Regret Recognized
astone2292 commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 24: Regret Recognized
I love a good mischief-maker. Keep your eyes peeled anytime Terik makes an appearance! He may be a dink, but put a little faith in Wagner. Cyrus is, so that's gotta mean something, right? -
Ben is that dude! He told Sandi to hold his dishrag and call the alpha! Completely willing to out himself to save his friends. You go!!! I take back my initial comment about him. So much is gonna happen at this dinner, and I'm here for it all.

Jesus! And here I am thinking I'm evil for making one of my characters shoot his destined mate in the head... I absolutely adore your humor, both the sprinkle or two in this story and the scoops in the comment section. I'm officially on vacation, so I have plenty of time to read.

Chapter 6: Intractable Instincts

Thank you so much for reading this evil author's creation! -
Chapter 23: Mastering Manipulation
astone2292 commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 23: Mastering Manipulation
I don't know what it is, but Remis brings out the humor in me. He's such a pleasure to write for. I'll make a canonical comment: the only magic Mace has is Vincent's bond. We won't see him with an affinity in the whole series. On the flipside, Mason gets a warming statement from Yakob. He might be on the sidelines now, but it's keeping Vincent sane. -
Chapter 22: Irishman Incoming
astone2292 commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 22: Irishman Incoming
I love Cyrus, but I could write McCabe for years! Wily, abrupt, uncanny, and so intellectual. My lips are sealed involving Cyrus' plots... -
Chapter 21: Phony People
astone2292 commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 21: Phony People
Stuerm is such a snot. I both loved and hated writing for him. Such a fake, fake person. Maybe Cyrus will send some EC goons his way. -
Chapter 20: Introductory Interview
astone2292 commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 20: Introductory Interview
Babysitting Lowe has come and gone. I wonder if it will happen again in the series at some point. Uh oh. Yakob's ready to get down to the nitty gritty... -
Completely skipping the story and the comments: Who the F#%^ is Ben?! Nothing's worse than being left on a cliffy than ignoring the cliffy had ever happened. Dastardly, but a brilliant move @kbois. I'm penciling that in my own playbook to be used at a later time. Now that I've read the chapter: I like Ben! He's so innocent and lovable! Silas and Caleb instantly see something in him, but the old man's soul-reading is interesting to me. Is Silas an elderly alpha? Are Silas and Caleb related? Am I putting two and two together from the previous chapter how an alpha's gaze is somewhat significant? It's beyond obvious that Zev is Ben's destined. What is begging to be obvious is the fact Silas and Caleb know what Ben knows. "Looky here. A human with a shifter's eyes? He might come in handy for the author's intended plot," Brilliant writing, but I'll be picking this up after some shut-eye. Loving it! Also: If I wasn't married...

Oh... Okay. I now know the author's standard for a cliffhanger. I will now look at my own cliffhangers dejectedly. It's about three hours past my bedtime, husband's sleeping peacefully, and I am contemplating a cold shower, which would wake him. That was the hottest scene I've ever read. Hands down. No ifs, ands, buts, or butts. And this little piggy's going in my favorites folder...

An interesting mark for abuse: creating such torture that can be deemed as such, without going over the cliff of disbelief. Unfortunately for him, our cast member is a shapeshifter with the ability to heal. A truly traumatizing scene you've crafted. Losing count at fifty-eight is a very important detail that I will not be forgetting. Yes, the abuse was already cringe-worthy, but for Ry to be able to accurately remember the number he lost count on... Well damn. That number could have been anything less, and I would have been equally impressed. Anything more would have pushed it. Fifty-eight. Powerful writing. Absolutely remarkable work! If this ending is what you call a hill, I'm terrified to see what an actual cliffhanger looks like to you. You're dangling two livelihoods above your reader's screens, and you call that "a hill you can roll down without getting too dizzy?" I feel outclassed here, and Valkyrie gave my cliffies their own special title... By the way, I'm hooked, suckered, and addicted to this story. Expect lots of reaction notifications okay bye!!!!!!!

I can see it now. A brick. Seb's next bodily function once he sees Ry for the second time in his life. What shape will it be in? I'll be paying attention On second thought, no I won't. Travlbug mentions something important. If the Kappa would be considered valuable, the fact Ry's father, an alpha, chose to subject Ry to this kind of life is very interesting. If a Kappa is a 100% guaranteed mate to an alpha, one would think to treasure that, and if Ry's father didn't care for his Kappa son, then sell him and make some money. Too evil? Probably, but hey... Ry's father was bad with money according to the prologue...

I was beginning to wonder what my next reading adventure would be. I'm sold! Some descriptions were on point and put me in the scene, particularly Sebastian's entrance. The power oozing from that man... Oh, *cough* excuse me. I smell a binge-read... Also... Unlike dear ol' Doc here, I don't like cliffie limitations. If there isn't one in every three chapters minimum, there's not enough excitement going on! As long as my future heart doctor doesn't ask too many questions, bring on the cliffies!

Chapter 24: Pitiless Panda
astone2292 commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 24: Pitiless Panda
Long chapters mean plenty of topics to cram them with. I learned my lesson in the sequels. I empathize with your friend. As a short guy myself, I had to deal with stereotyping with my height and high-pitched tone in a Bible-belted community. Hiding behind khaki cargo shorts and tube socks, I learned to deflect any insinuations of my homosexuality in order to prevent ass-whoopin's. I resonate with Kaplan with this. To hide your true self due to powers beyond your control is a fickle nightmare. -
Chapter 19: Lowe's Lair
astone2292 commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 19: Lowe's Lair
A lingering thought I've had is a continuation to this series. It would be set about 15-18 years after this series is done, but Lowe the Lipard (you said Liger, that's if Caleb and Morrine did the nasty...) is the MC. What the plot would be, that'll be kept a secret. Lowe is a hoot! Boogers, steak things... It reminds me I need to bring him back into the picture in the current book. -
Chapter 23: Alpha Arriving
astone2292 commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 23: Alpha Arriving
Wolves are adorable. Deadly, but adorable. Vincent's wolf spirit is still in puppy mode, and it's hilariously cute. Cyrus is almost indescribable. Stoic, humorous, capable, and a showman. I can't wait for you to see more of him. -
Chapter 6: Intractable Instincts

Teehee! Not everyone expected Sarah to be a baddie. Lot's of pain coming from this chapter. Ingle got shot, and Dirk might be emotionally scarred for life. What kind of damage did he cause? Tune in for the next chapter! -
Chapter 18: Final Fulfillment
astone2292 commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 18: Final Fulfillment
Vincent's living the high life, isn't he? Sleep, play, eat, sex, then more sleep. The meeting was interesting, to say the least. Snyder's a doofus for thinking a random stranger's the best person to talk smack with. And of course Wagner's in on it! Oy vey... -
Chapter 17: Instant Interest
astone2292 commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 17: Instant Interest
Panda's got it real bad! Cy's fallen head over heels for Kap. Won't be long now until that purple mark on Kap's neck becomes all mangled... I loved introducing the interviewing characters. They're all so different! I can't wait for you to meet them. I think you mean Henry's hiring Dirk. -
Chapter 16: Professional Partnership

The internal dialogue is so much fun. Like you said, it adds complexity. If there was a second voice in my head and had a slight behavior difference than my own, I might be more outgoing -
Chapter 15: Disturbing Decree
astone2292 commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 15: Disturbing Decree
The EC might've seen this as an emergency, so they sent Bylus ASAP. Your options are valid, but put yourself in Vin's shoes. All you wanted to do was save your friends. Now you own (and have to manage) a very large city.
