    Chapter 9

    Chapter 8

Much to unpack. Fair warning: when I unpack, I unpack like a lady who's moving in with the new boyfriend... and I brought EV-URR-EEE-THANG. Footnote response: phenomenal work. Please see below. Cassie: I see her character inside and out now. She's been Lex's protector for a hot minute, and for good reason. To find her best friend in that state, we see her mind snapping without truly witnessing the scene. She was willing to fire a gun at a human being at the age of fifteen, then lie about it. That doesn't go away, and we as readers, should prepare to see a minor or major breakdown from her character somewhere in the rest of this book. The magnitude of power placed by the author in this character is almost overwhelming, both for the reader and the character. In simple terms: WOW! Lex: the abuse is described perfectly. The pacing is perfect. The telling of the story... perfect. For a dramatic telling of one's haunts, it will never flow perfectly in real life, and you @kbois nailed Lex's imperfectional storytelling. Lex DOES NOT reveal this information on a daily, thus does not have it rehearsed, and the author shows this in the dialogue writing. In simple terms: also WOW! Ian: a confession of love. The L word wasn't used, but Lex has to be an idiot not to correlate the words meaning into the speech. While I admit, the long-winded speech was a bit much, Lex's spontaneous cum-bustion forced me to reread, then contemplate a cold shower. Simply amazing! I am awed at the talent and effort put into this chapter. I was not expecting Lex to tell Ian the scars' tales just yet, but by God if you didn't nail a plane landing with some fancy-pants triple axel spinny roundhouse twirl on ice-skates... I'm applauding you. No emojis needed.
  4. Dirk's recovery is a mystery, and we'll need to keep a close eye on him. I know the author certainly did... Vincent EC work might be beneficial. He'll get to use his magic for regular purpose and not just training when the mood takes him. Using his power practically, it'll become second nature to him.

    Chapter 7

I have an urge to kick and flail my legs with childlike excitement over this dang cliffy! Lex has been outplayed, and I'm not sure if he's willing to be like Ian and break the rules. This might be in my top ten favorite cliffies of all time.

    Chapter 6

<insert fangirl scream> The DOD, and Ian is in bed with Lex! No hugs, kisses, or intention groping. Nah, kbois is skipping all that nonsense! Straight to bed with these lovebirds. This won't totally backfire in any way, right?

    Chapter 5

And so the sessions begin. I'm interested to see how long it will take for Lex to finally give in to date night with the artist. Jarren and Mazen (interesting name choices, btw) are an absolute hoot. If Jarren doesn't get a side story or some love interest in this book, it's a crime! I can imagine the colorful commentary from Mazen...

    Chapter 4

While Lex and Cassie's nicknames are revealed, the author feeds her reader fish some more kibble. Boston. Cassie doesn't like it, and Lex might have been heading there. I can only assume it has to do with the scars. Silly Lex! You won't get to hear more of the sexy artist's voice if you shut down date opportunities.

    Chapter 3

The black Amex is interesting. I'm betting on loaded parents who didn't know how to parent. Poor Ian. He'll be the one needing to take breaks when he starts working on Lex's lower back...

    Chapter 2

So Ian has 50 hours to get in Lex's pants. I think he can do it in 20...
  11. Ah, so I'm not as predictable as I thought I was. My next chapter makes me feel better I thought long and hard about how Dirk's bear would behave and react. Between a human and an animal, I figured the animal would be less emotionally attached. Yes, Sarah was his destined, but Dirk's bear would be able to move on, as many adult male bears would in the wild. There's a big rabbit hole with many problems with that statement, but that was my thought process involving the bear's mindset.
  12. I wasn't expecting a heavy Dirk section to this story... but hey, content! Expect a lot from Owensville new bear in the near future. Who knows what's coming to Owensville and surroundings! Was Sarah even acting on the HA's behalf? Will we even find out? All depends on that forensics guy. Vin working for the EC? I wonder if this was the choice time to get Mace's opinion after two of his pack members were shot at... I'm willing to pay for information on how y'all keep getting in my dang Google Drive. $5 per route found. I hate to be the guy... but Dirk had some karma coming from picking on Vincent during their first meeting. Dirk is a mess, but can we blame him. He was given his perfect soulmate, but it seems Aliz got the packages mixed up in the mail. The bigger cities are more susceptible. Doesn't mean small towns are off the table. We also don't know if Sarah was even sent to Owensville. More details are needed. This is very funny! I might add a small detail in a future chapter.
  13. The red and blue lights glowed. The passing bodies were nothing but blurs. The concrete curb he sat on was cold as ice. His entire body numb. As was his mind. Dirk swallowed, then winced. Performing the action was intense and difficult. He wanted to hurl, but he knew there was nothing left in his stomach. Finding the strength, he looked up and saw the ambulance’s red strobe light. Then the blood splatter on the wall again flashed in his mind. Falling over on his knees, he dry-he

    Chapter 1

Pfft. Noah would shoot his shot too. I like going places, and I like whacky bee-atches too!

    Chapter 1

I do enjoy a good drifter character. Lex has oodles of secrets, and I can't wait to see them revealed. Miss Helen! I love a mystic lady! Jarren's not meant for Lex? That's fine, I'll go after the prissy-booted working man. Sounds delicious.
  16. Lovers of the shifter genre will fall for this wonderful tale. The author claims she's new to this world of supernatural writing, but expertly crafts this story with guideline-bending alterations from the everyday shifter fiction. With new classifications of these beings, it brings a breath of fresh air for those who desire originality. The story includes twists and turns that will have your current or future heart doctor questioning you at the next appointment. There's also passionate scenes that will have readers flocking to take a cold shower. Beneath this is a plot so heart-wrenching and devastating. A warning: one particular chapter left every hair standing. I like a good binge-read, but I had no choice but to disregard that chapter's comment section and immediately proceed to the next chapter. A breath-hitching work of art that must be read by all lovers of shifter-creatures. Thanks go to the author, editor, and beta-reader for their efforts.

    Chapter 26

A magical and riveting tale. My review will go into more detail. Through the uncertainty of tacklingbthe supernatural world, you've created a unique world that bends the standard shifter genre guidelines, and it is awesome! Wonderful work, @kbois!

    Chapter 17

Feel free to message me anytime. I have a teeny tiny amount of free time.
  19. astone2292

    Chapter 25

The calm. No more storms. In North America at least. Wonderful. Although I'll be repeating myself in my review, this story reaches a new height for the shifter genre. The introduction to Kappa and Lambda classes makes this tale distinguished. I'll be looking forward to the epilogue after a nap.

    Chapter 83

I wasn't told otherwise, so the reader's perspective takes priority. Besides it'll be fun to assume there'll be some Bouncin' Ases in the future.

    Chapter 24

Purely speechless. Phenomenal writing, excellent storytelling. Caleb could be listed as a rogue, or at least be prohibited from leading a pack ever again, but death is not an option for him. His redemption arc will be through raising his son (potential spin off story, perhaps in the form of a journal?).
  22. astone2292

    Chapter 23

Bloody and brilliant battle! Very well written. Caleb... Ooooooh there better be a good explanation for this'n! Please tell me Sandi slaps the literal dogs**t out of him.
  23. astone2292

    Chapter 22

Straight-up skipping the comment section. Every hair is standing, and I can't bother with typing a witty analysis. NEXT CHAPTER AHOY!!!
  24. astone2292

    Chapter 21

I've been staring at this phone for a hot minute, and you know what? Caleb makes sense for being the secret doofus mastermind. Walking in the diner, examining his pack as if the missing pups weren't the top priority just came to mind. Sure, he mentioned the issue and had his little sighs and whimpers about the subject... but anyone can act. Nevertheless, I am so upset with this news! Onward to an appropriate ass-kicking!!!

    Chapter 19

This cliffie reminds me of a jack-in-a-box (the toy, not the restaurant). After all the doo-de-doodly-doos, instead of "Pop, goes the weasel," We get "Here comes the chloroform!" 🎶
