I think Casey's only genuine concern is Casey @dboggs9700. I doubt he cares tuppence for Dylan, Jarrad and Levi, but he needs them "protected" to protect himself. I dare say he derived great pleasure watching Matt's beloved Commodore go up in smoke. I just wish there was a way Levi and/or Matt could exact revenge on him. I cannot think of anything at the moment; hopefully @Mark Ponyboy Peters has a dastardly plan for avenging Levi and Matt well hidden, for now, under his saddle.

I have no doubt Casey is at least the "mastermind" behind torching Matt's car. He may not have set fire to it, he well may have demanded Dylan and Jarrad do so, and they being obedient lap dogs would likely have complied with his wishes. Casey is such a cocky bastard. I am certain he believes he has trumped Levi with his remarks: "One word, mate. Evidence! There’s nothing left that can incriminate any of us . . . do you understand that? It’s all gone up in smoke. There’s no record of you or me, or Dylan and Jarrad . . . no DNA, no fingerprints, no scraps of anything left behind, nothing that can link any of us to being in that car." What Casey has failed to take into account though is that Levi is essentially a decent, honest and principled young man, qualities which are alien to Casey. I have no doubt Levi will confess to having taken the car for a joyride and crashing it. I also hope he discloses to Matt his suspicion Casey was responsible for torching it. I doubt Matt will be able to do anything to Casey as they have no evidence he was involved, unless Dylan and Jarrad suddenly develop a conscience, which is about as likely as Casey developing one.

I love the message of the song, respect for animals and the environment, a message which is being ignored in so many nations throughout the world, with greedy, aggressive world leaders hellbent on wholesale slaughter of animals they deem a menace to humanity e.g. wolves, bears. I shall say no more as I can feel my blood beginning to boil and I will reveal just how much I despise certain leaders and wealthy arseholes who think they have the right to fuck everyone over with their filthy lucre. The true scum of the earth.

Thank you @weinerdog and @Mark Ponyboy Peters for your concern. I was unwell all last week and earlier this week, but returned to work on Wednesday. I had to go into the office two days in a row (almost unheard of for me) and collect a new work laptop on the second day. Not surprisingly it had issues, so I have done three long days in a row. I have commented on other stories in the last few days, but I wanted to: Although I am a gold card carrying gay man, even I recognise that Vanessa Williams is one hot babe, and still is. She is a few months older than me, but bitch looks damn fine still. The critics hated this song, sickly sweet syrup they said. I love it, and yes it is sickly sweet, but who cares. He is a disappointing little shit isn't he @VBlew. His spine deserted him in the prior chapter, and decency and manners deserted him in this chapter. He is oh so predictable, not worthy of Richard's time or affection.

I am hoping Nathanial has reached the end of his tether, and that the church he can see from the hollow of his tree is the one he sought refuge in, in chapter 1. He desperately needs help and he won't get it from any of his so-called friends, the only one who really cares is Oli I think.

I thought this was going to be a chapter filled with wallowing misery and doom and gloom. I was not prepared for the liberal sprinkling of humour, starting with: "The library is about five degrees colder than anywhere else on the school grounds, but at least it’s one place that doesn’t smell like lunchboxes or feet. The only person I recognise is Harriet Hayes, but she has her nose in a book and doesn’t see me." What an hilarious image @Richie Tennyson. I cannot recall feet being a predominant unpleasant odour as a teenager, not mine nor any of my friends or fellow students. There were certainly other smells though. "Mum comes home at eight o’clock carrying shopping bags from her favourite boutique. I’m sitting at the kitchen table eating eggs on toast in my dressing gown and slippers". I had an image of Richard as Sandy Stone, one of Barry Humphries characters, an elderly gentleman in a dressing gown and slippers. Certainly not the attire of a 16 year old schoolboy, especially a gay one. "Mum turns on the lights and the central heating, then shows me her new purchases. Most of them look like her nice normal clothes, but I can tell her friend Cheryl has talked her into buying a few things that are not her style at all. There’s a low-cut top – and a dress with a slit up the side." Is Mum about to release her inner cougar? Is Mum's name Demi? If she is a little overweight she will need to starve herself to match hoes half her age to compete for the attention of boys in their late teens/early 20's, unless they like their women well-cushioned. Rosemary and Cheryl amused; one built for comfort the other for speed. Both appear to have a penchant for alcohol, just like their idols Patsy Stone and Edina Monsoon. Stu seemed as interested in them as Vicky was in him. Methinks he might have recognised a kindred spirit in Richard. Vicky, for the most part, acted as a 15 year old going on 3. I was going to label her a millennial princess, but given the quantity and quality of "questionable food" she shovels into her mouth, a millennial heifer seems a more appropriate description. Her rudeness to both her parents was extraordinary, and their lack of admonishment not helping the situation. Neither is divorcing her, although if she continues to behave as she has since the announcement was made that may change. I don't get why she is behaving as she is. Her parents divorcing is not the end of the world.

It seems Dad is not the henpecked husband I thought him to be in the first chapter. He is seemingly a randy rooster who has already got another hen "in the family way". Vicky will not be pleased to hear this as it will take the attention away from her. Nicholas appears to have mislaid his spine, although he may not have had one to begin with. If his new "friendship" with the jocks and the popular kids cools and he attempts to return to being friends with Richard, hopefully Richard has the strength of character to tell him to fuck off.

OMG, Vicky is horrid and tremendously selfish. She is 15 going on 5 and Richard 16 going on 25. Their parents are getting divorced, although Dad seems less keen on the idea than Mum. Mum is an academic and comes across as somewhat cold and bossy, whereas Dad is not as well educated and seems somewhat henpecked. The divorce of her parents is not the end of Vicky's life, she needs a reality check. I don't think I am going to like her. Terrific start @Richie Tennyson. I already don't like Vicky and am not fond of Mum. Richard seems pleasant, if somewhat confused, but he is a 16 year old gay boy so this is to be expected, and Dad is compliant and distant.

I had similar thoughts @LeeSA, which is why I have previously commented he has camera's set up in various boys bathrooms, filming them taking a shower, whilst he pleasures himself. I had not thought of him having ED though, but this might explain his sour disposition. He is jealous of all the boys for their virility and youth, and despises them for their wealth, apart from Bastien whom he adores. He is creepy, just like Rector Reichenau.

Nathanial's descent into hell has begun. He is surrounded by plastic people who don't really give a fuck about him, including the most selfish and conceited bastard of them all, Charlie, and a boyfriend who is using him as a cumdump and a punching bag from the sound of it. My heart bleeds for Nathanial.

I was afraid this was going to happen. Alex's kind, loving persona, a sham, a veneer of respectability. He is a violent, possessive bully, which is why prior relationships, if any, have failed. Better that Nathanial has found out now. Charlie is an inconsiderate, selfish, cowardly arsehole, and Alex is a violent, possessive thug. Nathanial does not seem to be someone who needs sex constantly; maybe he should get a dog instead, or better still a cat. Perhaps he can contact you @chris191070 on getting himself a cat there in the UK.

Did they invite you aboard to travel with them @pvtguy (I just saw your comment on the previous chapter)? Although their wealth is extreme, Joan and Dan do not appear to have been negatively impacted by it. They seem as welcoming, pleasant and unaffected as the average person with a significantly less impressive bank balance. Apart from the use of chicken in the homemade soup, this sounds like quite a tasty and healthy meal which would suit @Summerabbacat well @drsawzall. My eldest cat, Frida, loves chicken soup, so she could eat it whilst I had the rice and veggies. She and I will be there for dinner next week. What time in the evening do you usually dine?

I don't believe Herr Schneider is the drunken old fool the postal worker dismissed him as. He has dirt on Veridien Academy, some of its staff or some of its enrolees. I am intrigued as to what the postal worker was referring to when he said Herr Schneider was waiting for a letter which would never come. I am also intrigued by Lawrence's thought "It looked like Lawrence needed a bit of distance from Veridien for some of Bastien’s spell to lift." Might Lawrence be doubting or reconsidering his feelings for Bastien or questioning Bastien's actions? Might he be thinking his feelings for Bastien are Misplaced Love?

Alex is now very "in tune" with Neil's moods, his lingering self-doubts and feelings of inadequacy and awkwardness. He, Alex, is also becoming quite adept at turning these negative moments of doubt into positive moments, usually with simple solutions and a minimum of fuss. I think Alex has more in common with Mother than he would like to admit. Speaking of Mother, her skills were put to the test with the Charlie/Marcin scenario, but it appears she handled the situation well. I find it amusing Neil calls Charlie "Oaf" and Charlie calls Neil "Big"; usually the words go together. Exercised. Never before have I seen it used to mean upset or worried. This is not the first time you have done this @Robert Hugill; used a word for its lesser known meaning. On this occasion I thought to myself, Robert has used the wrong word, Robert has made an error; I should have known better. Anyroad, there is nowt I can do about it, after all I am from a land Down Under where beer does flow and men chunder, and where Skippy was born and became an international superstar. Forget Elle McPherson, Skippy was Australia's first supermodel.

It is perhaps unfortunate in a situation like this that Martin, Nathan, Simon and Rick are model citizens; if they had some "shady" associates with whom they could arrange for Mark's nieces and nephews to be kidnapped, and for the adults to be torched, it would serve the nieces and nephews well. Truly vile trash who deserve the strongest of condemnation as a minimum. or involuntary euthanasia as the best outcome.

It was not Will Ferrell's character who sings Springtime For Hitler, it was the character, Roger De Bris, played by Gary Beach, a very fine Broadway performer who passed away in 2018 (I just googled his death which I thought was only 2 or 3 years ago, but it was 8 years ago; time is passing so quickly).
