    My primary school religious education was indoctrination into Christianity as well. In the later years it got better, one learned about other religions. But generally, this needs to be taught as an overview of different belief systems. Definitely not. Its proponents claiming it being a "theory" only shows how little they understand of the scientific process.

    Yes, I know good religious people, too. Somehow, though, that is not the standard, is it? These seem to be the exception. Religion shapes the world negatively. I once read a good description: most people are "God haunted". Most evil has been done by those believing to do good. But, groping people is incorrect, he knew that. Everyone knows that! So, him thinking he was right is a very weak excuse.

    I think that teaching religion to children amounts to child abuse. It is just traumatizing and unnatural.

    The Germans have a proverb that roughly translates as "A child's mouth speaks truth". As I was just visiting Lisbon on a city tour bus, they passed the waiting time between sites by playing local music. After a while, a little girl was really bored and asked her mum, "When are we there?" "Why?" asked the mother. "The music is bad." I had to stifle a laughter. She was so right. Anyway, take the tour tram, not the tour bus when visiting Lisbon!
