  1. You are a romantic. Let's see whether I disappoint you.
  2. I am impressed. Think about Jamie's past experiences (I hope the orgy bit did not drown out all the rest )...
  3. Thank you! Yes, the comments are fantastic, thank you, dear readers! @Mikiesboy, I have just decided that there will be a longer pause between chapters 19 and 20... this will be a riot
  4. Nothing to add, really... I see you will not vote Conservative, will you?
  5. That seems very likely. RMW went through quite a lot of effort to organise this.
  6. Keep these thoughts!
  7. Thank you! I can only say: stay with me.
  8. Thx! So, I hope my comment to wait makes sense now. As to good or bad, nothing in life is ever that clear cut, is it? Both of them have goals and motivations and will act accordingly, Interesting ... (I need a white cat to stroke right now...) Hm... This is quite a thing that was loaded onto Jamie who seems to understand the potential repercussions very well. He has known Mike for three, maybe four months. Would he really share that secret? Would you?
  9. Yes, but to what particular aspect of my cruelty are you referring?
  10. Is that not how it usually is? 3 months of training...
  11. Oh, I love it! Shows that you are invested in the characters! I doubt RMW cares much about the details of Jamie's private life, especially when being in danger: “Jamie, somebody is out to get me, and I do not have any time to waste.”
  12. Cu then!
  13. Well, I hope you will like the rest!
  14. Yes, I am quite cured from writing for this year. Other stuff piled up and there is still "work". Good luck!
  15. Not necessarily. The main issue is the secrecy involved. Imagine the fallout if there were indeed "mutants". It would be an instant "us vs. them" situation. We already have that with queer people. Just extrapolate from queer soldiers and the debate around that to "mutant" soldiers. If its to be kept secret. First of all, how would one find any such soldiers? Second, one cannot tell anybody that they have such a weapon. Third, one cannot reasonably use it because it would become known. So why bother with the restrictions when a company of regular soldiers could achieve the same job? For dictators, the military is the substitution for their penis length aka "mine is bigger than yours". For politicians in democracies only one thing counts: reelection. So, keeping such a secret is too much of a potential bombshell. First, what is the legal power to do that? I doubt there is a "mutants act"... Terrorism charges could work, that is a "kill-my-enemies-in-one-go" legislation, if read by the letter. It just depends on what the ruling politician defines as "terrorism". The first time,. I read the terrorism act, I asked a trainer. "So, I can remove my shoulder numbers and name tag (no need to identify yourself), can go to the prime minister, arrest him under the suspicion of terrorism (it is just a suspicion, does not need to be true!!!) and hold him in a cell for up two months without the need for him to see a lawyer or being told why they are there? Wow! We all know what the law is good for and what it was intended to do, but honestly, it depends on other stakeholders to do their job right e.g. the custody sergeant throwing me out if I came with the prime minister. As written, the Terrorism Act can easily be used by the government to silence opposition. Opposition to the government just needs to be declared as terrorism, like in Russia.
  16. LOL. That reminds me of a true story. Because the time of being able to hold a suspect was running out, they did indeed need to get paperwork from Central London quickly. So, they sent a unit on immediate to Central London to pick up the papers and run back. However, on the way back the car broke down, so they sent a new unit to meet on the motorway to get the paperwork handed over to bring it to the stations. I was told they had ten minutes to spare when the paperwork arrived and the clock reset. So, yes, that may be a job!
  17. The radio blared in my ear. “Sierra X-ray to all mobiles, observation message to follow.” My crewmate for this shift was Special Constable Constance “Connie” Palmer. Maybe it was Mike’s influence, but since he’d transferred to my station and began posting stuff on this Special’s Group of his, my shift had become quite popular with our station’s Specials. I was usually the one being crewed with them. Not that I complained. I liked working with Specials. It was just slightly odd. All of
  18. Thank you so much! High praise!
  19. Dear all, I am very humbly surprised at the positive reaction and the attention to detail that people invest when reading. That means a lot! Thank you all! Law P.S. We spoke about red herrings and red tape and such, didn't we?
  20. Guilty as charged.
  21. Thank you! What do you think "it" is? That is no criticism at all! Yes, RMW is a stark opposite to Jamie and that is intended. Let's have this discussion after the next chapter.
  22. Excellent! What made you google the term? I had wanted something alien (no pun intended) and played with different languages in Google Translate. It offered Klingon, so I tried. I could even "mispronounce" it better than the alternatives I had. Hence, Klingon.
  23. Yes, come all to see the fighter he so quick nobody can see him I think nobody would want to fight him, that would be a career quickly over... Honestly, I have spend weeks trying to find a use for a runner. I just cannot find any nowadays!
  24. You will love the upcoming chapters, I am sure.
  25. Good! The question is: what did the ghost see? It might only have seen "power" not necessarily how it is manifested.
