Yes, there will be multiple logistical problems for their next trip, and I for one am eager to see how they overcome them.
-
That's all very true, and I'm not sure about how the rest of you feel, but I'm even more excited about their future prospects than I was about this trip. At least now they have a starting point and the prospects for a more fruitful trip the next time.
-
Absolutely. They're obviously not giving up on the idea of finding the treasure, just delaying the prospect for a while longer.
-
No golden treasure for now, but the experience may have been treasure enough, along with the experience on a private jet.

It jmight be cool and exciting to be on an adventure like this, but you're correct. Not everyone would have the same ease in living and hunting as a wolf. No questions are annoying, just a learning experience. Being a human to begin with, I suspect they have a greater brain capacity than a wolf, yet all of the wolf's instincts. That's how they were able to escape the uncomfortable experience of having trespassed on the other pack's territory without a battle. It's not always brain size that wins the battle, but also knowing those lessons that Pops taught him when they were on the Navajo reservation.

Yes, the treasure hunt didn't go as well as planned, but it was a valuable life lesson. Nothing of this nature comes easily, but there is always hope for the future.

Chapter 18 - The Old Ozark Treasure Cave – After dark, Gramps found a safe place for us to spend the night, and then we all transitioned into our own bodies so we could chat briefly. As soon as we were in our human forms, Pops began to speak. “Basically the only thing we’ve done so far was to move closer to the spot where we’ll begin our search, because Jacob wasn’t able to find an acceptable parking spot that was closer. Although we haven’t been seriously looking for any caves on

I believe a lot of that has to do with corporate greedflation and shrinkflation.

Could you be giddy because the rain in making the snow finally disappear from the frozen Canadian soil where you live. After all, May showers bring June flowers up there, doesn't they?

Bit coins seemed to burgeoned onto the market overnight. Many flowers appear to be burgeoning into view in the spring.

malapropism - Word of the Day - Sun May 19, 2024

That was back when Justin was still cute and humble, although maybe a little dumb... but that was funny. -
You might see cold-blooded animals, such as alligators, snakes, and lizards, apricating in the sunlight in order to raise their body temperature. That's because they can't regulate their body temperature internally as warm-blooded animals do, such as mammals.

Ah, yes, cannabis does give one the munchies.

A couple of the tarantulas were very unique looking - you might even say attractive, but deadly, since their venom was listed as strong. There were a couple of others that were even worse though. .

rhinoceros - Word of the Day - Fri May 24, 2024
Bill W commented on Myr's blog entry in Writing World
There are five species of rhinos in the world and rhinos can weigh over 3 tons (US) or tonnes (UK). Black and white rhinos are both actually grey in color, and males rhinos are called bulls, and the females cows. Rhino horns are made of keratin, just like our fingernails, and their horns never stop growing. Rhinos have poor vison and communicate using growls, trumpet calls (honks), snorts, sneezes, and screams, as well as through the smell of their urine and feces. Rhinos also love mud. -

The plural of rhinoceros is rhinoceroses. -

anthropomorphize - Word of the Day - Thu May 23, 2024
Bill W commented on Myr's blog entry in Writing World
Think of how dull our world would be if there was no such thing as anthropomorphizing. We would have no Winnie the Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet, Kanga, or Roo. There would be no Mickey or Minnie Mouse, Donald or Daisy Duck, Uncle Scrooge, or Hewey, Dewey, or Louie, let alone Goofy. And we wouldn't have had Buzz Lightyear or Woody either. Thank God for anthropomorphizing. -
Ah, those explain a lot. I was envisioning a furniture stand, possibly a small round top stand placed next to a desk. Man, was I far off. lol

The Romans were great writers as well. They would write on papyrus (most commonly used); thin, flat, rectangular sheets of wood; or parchment (animal skin). They would do this using black ink made from root ater (Latin for 'black'); lampblack suspended in a solution of gum arabic or glue; or iron vitriol (the same thing used by shoemakers to dye leather black). They sometimes also used red ink made from red lead or red ocra. Their writing utensils (pens) might be made from reeds, wood, or even metal, and their inkwells were usually made from metal or pottery and were generally small enough to fit in the palm of their hand. sometimes with a lid, so the scribe could carry it around.
-
Yes, in Ancient Egypt scribes used stones with rounded holes in them to hold the ink that they could dip their reed reed writing tool (pen) in.

That doesn't sound practical for an educational setting. Would work ok for private or professional use, but when large number of people are involved I can see accidents in the making.

FYI: William, We have exciting news to share: Just last month, eight Red Wolf pups were born in Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge, in eastern North Carolina! This is the third year in a row that Red Wolves have successfully given birth to a litter in this area. Without our persistent advocacy over the last decade, these successes would not have been possible. Congratulations are also in order to the Fish and Wildlife Service team for their dedication to these recovery efforts. This is a tremendous boost for endangered Red Wolves, whose numbers are still critically low. Every pup born in the wild brings us closer to recovery for these incredible animals.

Aye, that appears closer to what this treasure hunt is all about, but you still have to wait to learn how it turns out. Thought ya put one over on the ol' man, didn't ya?

Gold fever reigns supreme, and if you scurvy rascals want to find out what happens, ye best continue checking out the upcoming chapters as they're posted, matey. You didn't think this ol' pirate was going to just tell you, did you? lol Wait, they're looking for Aztec gold the was being sought by the conquistadors, not pirate gold. By the way, the big lump of gold in the center of the box looks like a huge walnut.
