  1. Or that your lurking should get quieter.
  2. Spirit of Nicolae Ceaucescu, get out from this goat's body!
  3. Now, now... What's this rule about "we get more votes so we win" and "number of votes counts, number of posts don't count". It seems you Herdians reinvent the rules as things come. Graeme will have to come in again and settle the matter in a fair, unbiased Caprican way.
  4. Are we sure we eventually defined a cliff-hanger? How can one be the king of a realm that has no borders? (Or emperor of an empire without limits, for that matter)
  5. The last chapter was a blatant cliff-hanger. Sorry, but this is a fact. And let's not, LET'S NOT forget the UK contender, Camy, who has some cliff-hangers that rival CJ's AND Shadowgod's. His latest chapter makes it clear. Then, the question is: Is there a cliff-hanger epidemic around here?
  6. Judging from the number of Capricans' posts, I'd say the poll is closed and Capricans won. Let the Herd lurk quietly in the background, building up a new silent majority.
  7. My thoughts are similar to Shadowgod's on this one. Seeing a little hope, or having positive messages can empower people, especially young ones, and let them know they're not freaks. Being on line got me to "witness" some drama, as a talented kid (the one whose art I posted in the laughter thread) first let me know of having found a BF, then got pulled off line by his parents when he came out. It seems some Marvel comic had given him the courage to do so, and he thought that it would turn out just as in the story... Hence a fun-loving, gifted kid is likely to grow bitter, thanks to bigoted parents. So, no, life is not all pink and easy. At the same time, all the information this bot got, and the (hopefully) thoughtful words we exchanged may also help him to get through without being brainwashed. And with positive stories and testimonies, you have to think about long-term consequences, when it will eventually become a non-issue. So yes, we don't have to ignore the problems and discrimination; let's try to voice out a positive message, and then fight for what's right. These go pretty well together.
  8. Well, your fans can already listen to the demo version. The full-fledged one with the whole band should be available within a couple months.
  9. The silence of the Herd people means Capricans win, doesn't it?
  10. I'd say the risk would be higher to use words such as "bitch", or even more colorful ones that I should refrain from quoting, than to read fiction in which ropes are involved. But indeed the metaphors used in sentimental fiction often are those relating to freedom and lack thereof. As Jan pointed out, the section of the sub-forum dedicated to common confusions should be studied by all.
  11. Cheers! Happy Birthday!
  12. Unfortunately, the PIs I sent to Arizona were only able to get this pic: It is supposed to be a baby picture of CJames the year he won First Prize in the State Fair, back in 1971. It cost me a leg and an arm, so I think it's genuine. Look at his eyes. A mystery how they later turned red and he had to hide them behind these infamous sunglasses. Do not walk alone around the halls of the University of Mississippi if that's where he lurks around.
  13. I enjoyed these first two chapters. I hope I find out more about Dennis in future chapters by seeing him doing things on top of reflecting on life etc., as is the case in the second part of the chapter And also that Gerard will take a more important role.
  14. Happy Birthday, Steve!
  15. I'm late, but... Happy Birthday, Ieshwar!
  16. Three votes so far. 33.33333% of the voters seem to be CJames' minions.
  17. Does this mean that the red "cloud" is going to congregate to form a star?

    Blah

Uh Oh... As I got some gastroenteritis last weekend, I can only feel the pain. Get well soon, rest and drink some cola. I wonder whether you've got an official endorsement by 7-11?
  19. No one discussed the strange title yet. My dictionary only gives three words starting with antici: anticipate, anticipatory, and anticipation. So why the suspension marks? This is quite mysterious indeed, and if anyone could make it clearer for me what the trick is, I'd be grateful.
  20. Oops... I should have guessed. I'm a bit less ignorant now. Why do they use the aboriginal name once they've gotten rid of them all, though?
  21. A state famous for its numerous kangaroos in the wild... What about Ayers Rock? There are quite a few helicopters flying around, bringing tourists in, so it wouldn't be too conspicuous. And Ayers Rock could conceal a James Bond-style villain base.
  22. I could concede Shadowgod is the king of THE evil cliff-hanger with chapter 26. But CJ is the king of eeeevil cliff-hangers with too many FTL chapters to quote here. So let everyone get a crown and rejoice in the dark places these two roam around.

    I got an A

Mmmh... Now you're an expert at this, I'll nastily point out any possible its VS. it's stuff I find in your prose... I rejoiced reading the title thinking you got an A in maths. I hope it's the case soon.
  24. The guy was trying to make a point about a serious matter. He did get a lot of attention, and I can only hope they manage to find a political solution there; it's difficult to imagine these provinces gaining independence. This wouldn't make much sense in today's world. And Belgium is indeed a beautiful country. I'd go for the south side myself.
