  1. Happy Birthday!
  2. One question: by blowing up the sheriff's house, did Chris destroy some important incriminating evidence? The meth lab theory seems to have been swept aside by CJames, but it's his job to mislead people who're on to something. See the positive side for Eric: his broken nose will give him a tough guy look that will prove useful in jail.
  3. Agreed, exactly my view on this chapter. As for the title, it made me think of the Clash song Guns of Brixton. "When they kick out your front door How you gonna come? With your hands on your head Or on the trigger of your gun When the law break in How you gonna go? Shot down on the pavement Or waiting in death row"
  4. Darn! Coming in late... Happy Birthday!
  5. What we might have suspected or guessed was right. A happy ending, with a great scene of family drama in the church. Very Capra-like, I loved it! Very good dialogues. I really enjoyed this story a lot.
  6. Well, if he's not his ex, who is he? Santa Claus in disguise? Canada's PM undercover? And we all know you're quite heartless and evil, but you wouldn't pull a cliff-hanger CJ style on your readers like this, would you?
  7. First ones popping to my mind: Nostalgia, by the Buzzcocks I always used to dream of the past But like they say yesterday never comes Sometimes there's a song in my brain And I feel that my heart knows the refrain I guess it's just the music that brings on nostalgia for an age yet to come Ah nostalgia for an age yet to come Nostalgia for an age yet to come About the future I only can reminisce For what I've had is what I'll never get And although this may sound strange My future and my past are presently disarranged And I'm surfing on a wave of nostalgia for an age yet to come I look I only see what I don't know All that was strong invincible is slain Takes more than sunshine to make everything fine And I feel like I'm trapped in the middle of time With this constant feeling of nostalgia for an age yet to come Ah nostalgia for an age yet to come About the future I only can reminisce For what I've had is what I'll never get And although this may sound strange My future and my past are presently disarranged And I'm surfing on a wave of nostalgia for an age yet to come I look I only see what I don't know All that was strong invincible is slain Takes more than sunshine to make everything fine And I feel like I'm caught in the middle of time And this constant feeling of nostalgia for an age yet to come Ah nostalgia for an age yet to come
  8. I already wondered where you got this info from when you posted in the other thread, but after a little research, I found that though Bulgaria tightened a bit their traffic laws hence complying with UE guidelines, you get charges pressed in Bulgaria once you go over 1.5. Which is pretty high. And no country in the European Union has a death penalty sentence, especially not enforced by traffic cops. As for the topic, who's Paris Hilton? (Just kidding!)
  9. Happy Birthday!
  10. Wow! Talk about a high budget for this story, with vans, Range Rovers, helicopters and missiles. And a cliff-hanger promising to yield some horrible news in the next episode. Now I have to reread the last three instalments for a few details are a bit far away in my memory. A darker chapter, guys, so sensitive souls be warned!
  11. OK, maybe doing the police's job is what you've got to do in the Rural West (are wa gonna get a showdown at High Noon in Mainstreet?), but then you may think it over and have some backup. Playing the meddlesome snoop against people who steal parts and pile up carburetors can be dangerous. Betty, who's still a kick-butt character, is as guilty of dumbness as the boys. And nothing has been planned for a retreat or in case anything goes wrong. So will Eric, the non-adopted poor misunderstood little worthless pile of crap save his brother's boyfriend? Stop using drugs? Stop cussing all the time? Go to jail and stay there?
  12. Though I disliked it, it adds to the realism, and makes Aaron a true hero. So many people run away from a loved one who's ill that I admire him for keeping in love. Much less unpleasant, BTW, than the Jetta about to crash anyway.
  13. Come on guys, play nice!
  14. Travel light! There's no need carrying bricks around with you, I assure you.
  15. Same here. Another kid who's in for some problem ahead with his folks. Hope he grows to like flowers.
  16. Nice tourism chapter (photowhoring! lol). We learn quite a few things about Canadians, the fact that they live underground in Montr
  17. And now, Conner, you understand the need for the 12-person crew behind CJames' writing. Of course, we're not even referring to the salt block caterer, the horn sharpener, the hooves trimmer, without whom all of this wouldn't be possible. And Jack, I'm wondering if there is any possible innuendo in your comment about CJames' cranial capacity.
  18. We launched our TugStories site on Tuesday. It's intended for all ages, so no explicit content. Tie-up games, adventures and escape artistry, kidnapping and rescue, weird secret societies... If this appeals to you, drop by!
  19. I hope CJames will have lived through chapter 23 without any trouble, because we're given some more details about Brian's unpleasant problems. The birthday party is nice. Same problems I had at the beginning of the story with A&B with Corey and Jamal though. Thus discussing one's sex life in public wouldn't be cute, IMO, regardless of your orientation but disrecpectful of others. This couple does add to the "all-gay" cast feeling of the story, though. As for what you added above, Altimexis, I see your point in going further and having Brian go through a series of setbacks, but I'm wondering how long you can stretch the whole thing adding some more "educational information" and keeping the whole story exciting as it has been so far. We'll see and come down harshly if it gets boring...
  20. Don't know about Raul being liable for his misdeeds as 'just' a hired goon, but fodder for disaster, mayhem or chaos, yes!
  21. Way to go Jeremy! Lots of "bumping and grinding". Kind of a transitional chapter with Jeremy's quiet eighteenth birthday, then this (soft) initiation rite with the Barecats. A nice read, not much more in the sentimental area, though lots of small hints about Charlie, Robert. And the coffee's still conspicuously missing.
  22. OK, if some characters have to suffer in this story, I propose ("and the nominates for Being Meanly Dispatched are...") Richard, Catherine and Raul. Let the others in peace.
  23. A nice tale of frustrations at last unleashed. I have to agree that the writing makes the story fresh and attractive. And there's definitely an ascending move throughout the story, this eventual question being a nice climax (in the literary meaning).
  24. OK, OK! I take this back! Make it cute and cuddly egg-laying mammal with spines from the southern hemisphere. Rejoice for having the undisputed number one give you praise! As for the living in the desert par, I agree with Jack that it is well told here and there. Though my experience of deserts is small, lots of habits of our locals seem to be fairly embedded in their way of life.
