I have finished another story on GA called "I hate this town" and the characters remind me of JJ, its a sticky tale about mental illness. Gave insights into anxiety and coping that makes me even more nervous for JJ. I'll be his friend, sharp edges and lacerations taken for granted.

I grew up on an orchard, picking your own from the tree is the best, unless its Granny Smith (Australian invention). Sharp and tart. I can empathise with our hero, was me at high school, dont look, touch or come close to me.

Interesting! My take was that the parents are just unknown people to him against his "real parents". He does want to give up himself, his identity and then be swamped by millions of years of other memories, and when Jacob said "I dont feel any different " and the Great Mother replied " wasn't that the whole point?". Not in the minority at all. In fact we all need to be reminded that JJ is a survivor of sexual predation, mother ( his main support system) lost in 9/11 and is but only 18 years old. Thankfully he is being supported by his fabulous psychologist but I think his family have not been kind and while they all have various issues, JP is the one that I am disappointed with as he has almost no regard for JJ yet Will clearly is the golden child.

In my own family history, my mother in laws father was a Major in the Wehrmacht. (story has it, antihitler, killed Russian front, not allowed to return after being wounded and died of septicaemia.) Thinking about the signet ring, coronet and mantle. Had to come from somewhere? I had that opportunity, my first long term partner was titled as "Graf Victor von Faber-Castell " and was at the time, Aide-De-Camp to the Goveror General of New Zealand, just like Jeremy in his entitlements and snobbery. A small fly in the ointment.. as Sir Francis Calvert has now become an Equerry to the King, his sailing days may be over, or at least suspended for the foreseeable future! I do love that we are all bringing our own psychological input into an imaginary characters who are drawn so well that it speaks to us, and I suspect that we may have actually met a person who has at least some of these attributes JJ exhibits. I had the same thought that the burns might have infected below the dermis layer and was a counter to the poison. We shall have to wait for @mcarss to explain either killing poor (stupid, idiotic who had the opportunity to speak up earlier ) Nathan or finding an unexpected surprise

I have absolutely loved this series and hope that it gets a much wider audience on this site. Eric has enlivened my life and left a warm glow. I did fear for a moment that when he was hanging out the washing and the white shirt that he was going to have a medical incident and die alone in the back yard on a cool windy day. Luckily for me, @northie had other plans. Having been around England, I could imagine with clarity all the homes and gardens and streets. Fountain Abbey a standout monument. i do wonder now that time has passed, how our cast have dealt with covid and what has become of Adams, cantankerous, cowardly, crass and boorishly ill-mannered father. Prison would not be allowed for a person who reflects the judicial system, but embarrassing ones own class (landowners) would certainly leave a lasting effect. Masterful work. 👌👌👌👏👏👏👏
