  1. I have given this one plenty of thought. As a person who can't spell worth a hill of beans I vote for using then both. The more aceptable spellings there are for a word the less likely I am to make a mistake. That won't solve all my problems. Once I remember my father reading something I wrote and remarking that I spelled color/colour wrong. I said "but there are two ways to spell that word." He said, "I know. You just invented a third way." I think I spelled it "colur."
  2. Another great chapter! I think the big secret is something along the lines of their story being front page news. They will probably want Brandon to take a prominent spot in the photo or maybe be by himself. Considering how nervouse he is about his appearance they probably want to keep him from spending the evening doing situps. The pictures were great. They were not needed for understanding the story but who doesn't like ilustrations? When it comes to Jerry, I'm sure he has a purpose if CJ spent several paragraphs on him. Maybe he will be the one to get Chase and Brandon to open up to each other. ...anything to get them to realize their mutual feelings.
  3. I know exactly what you are talking about. Until I started reading stories on GA I never saw "hehehe" anywhere in anyone's writing. At first it seemed like a cute local thing. A few long stories later I was perfectly anoyed. We all have our bad habbits but I think that one might be contagious since it happens on GA more than anywhere else. Thanks for pointing it out. Now that it has been talked about maybe people will do it less.
  4. The syringes are by far the worst since they go past your skin and sometimes directly into the blood stream. They are one of the things that should really be used once only. The other medical equipment (and restaurant equipment) is a little less hazardous but still worth paying atention to. Its not much better to touch a syringe with a dirty hand and then use it. Touching money and then handeling food is quite bad too. I am not a clean freak. Honestly I believe that some exposure to pathogens is good for the immune system but there are a few areas where I would some standards!
  5. They are right to protect their culture. I don't know why imigrants so often have no respect for the country they move to. My grandmother was this way. She wanted all of America to learn her language and celebrate her holidays. She used to drive me nuts when she started complaining. This sort of behavior is unfortunately quite common here in California. We border on Mexico and anyone who wants to come to the USA seems to come through Mexico (legaly or otherwise). Its becoming quite a sore issue.
  6. I have noticed something a little disturbing about medical professionals and their gloves. Is it just be or do they put their gloved hands everywhere? I was having blood drawn today and noticed the nurs put on a pair of gloves. Then he decided the trash can was in an inconvinient spot. He moved it before proceding to disinfect my arm. I know the disinfestant should kill any germs that got on the gloves and he never actualy touched the puncture wound but it still seems unsanitary. I have seen several nurses and dentists do this. Has this happend to anyone else? Does it bother you?
  7. Now that I think about it the issue of Brandon being too perfect may have less to do with him being infinitly smart and more with him doing what we want to see him do. He is quite clueless but in a very cute apealing way. The action of chasing a desperate criminal is not smart but we would not be so happy with him if he just stood there. He has his flaws but they are presented in such a way that we like them. In a way it is similar to listening to a proud parent talking about their child. Bad qualities get passed off as cute. Anyway, its hard to comlain when we haven't seen the whole story. It may look different in context.
  8. Great chapter! Brandon seems a little too perfect though but then again many people seem perfect until you get to know them. I would like to see him loose his cool at some point. Maybe he could have some little phobia. By the way, did anyone notice the airline adds that atached themselves to the bottom of the page?
  9. Brandon and Chase seem to be taking their time in making anything happen. Maybe some king of compromise would work...goat cheese anyone?
  10. Happy Birthday!!!!!
  11. Well, we did get a kiss...It was not entirely unexpected from a goat who likes to write cliff hangers and do other devious things. I don't mind that so much but with all the changing of cloths couldn't someone have gotten mooned? (I'm being a pest of course.) Great chapter! As always I'm looking forward to the next one. What will you call the chapter where they finally do kiss?
  12. Happy Birthday!
  13. Sorry to hear it. I hope he is doing better now.
  14. Happy birthday! I hope its a good one.
  15. I tend not to reread things but the one collection of stories I keep coming back to is the Shrelock Holmes mysteries. The original stories were written by Sir Conan Arthur Doyle but there were many imitators and many of them good.
  16. Ok forget the tar & feathers. I would like to see a kiss....and then there's also the other interpertation of T&F. Just kidding. Some how the characters don't strike me as the S&M types.
  17. Great story! I don't have much of an idea as to what's going to happen except some gay love followed by a rock band saving the world from a neuclear disaster. That's enough to keep me reading. By the way I'm noticing an interest in angry lesbians. First Betty in For the Love and now Helen. Does helen have a shot gun? Does she tar and feather goats? The chickens.... let's see, if you first sheer the goat then pluck the chickens you can then tar and feather the goat and tar and fur the chickens. Net result: goat with feathers and furry chickens.
  18. So did I. Even if there was something real behind it the way it is written is just silly. Sorry to ruin your blog entry. I have to agree that there may well be a comercial intrest behind it. As far as the real science goes, there is still much debate over soy's interaction with human hormones. The whole issue has to do with molecules called phitoestogens (may not be spelled right) or plant estrogen. They have a similar structure to estrogrn so the question is weather or not they can interfere with human sex hormones. There are two competing ideas about it. One hypothesis is that the plant estrogen may act exacly like human estrogen and may interfere with fertility sexual function etc. The other idea is that the plant estrogen may bind to estrogen receptors in the body blocking the body's ability to use estrogen. In one case the person would become more feminine. In the other the person would become more masculine. Obviosly the effect is small if it exists at all. For a time soy was thought to help with menopause induced hot flashes but the effect was not impresive. By the way, the same plant estrogen is found in other foods as well. Personaly, I don't worry about it. I am an omnivore in the truest sense. I will eat anything, including soy. So far no food has induced a change of sexual orientation or genital shape or size. (As beens go I think soy are a little less gassy :nuke: than most.)
  19. Hi Dalmatia, I am from the USA, specificaly from the state of California. I love it here. I can not speak for the rest of the country but in my area the weather is great. Its almost always warm (desert climate). There is plenty to do and see where I live. My home is Los Angeles county but not in the middle of the city. It is on the edge of the suburbs. That makes for quiet nights and my neighbors are not party animals so its almost to peacefull sometimes. I am a short drive from the famous/infamous Hollywood. The ocean is not far away either. In some mountain areas there is also snow in the winter. In all I would not want to live anywhere else.
  20. This was published last year. Its the craziest explanation for homosexuality I have seen yet. http://www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=53327 Take it with a BIG grain of salt.
  21. Happy Birthday!
  22. I think it's a no for me. If all goes as planned I will have someone visiting me from Australia. Hopefully this will become a tradition and I can go next time.
  23. Here's one thing that I keep wondering about: where are the hostages? Are they realy at the site? Does the sherif have all of them? Only one of them could be heard screaming over the phone. Could one of them have gotten free and released Chris? The idea that Eric shot the sherif is plausible. He could have seen his people digging themseves deeper and deeper and decided to switch sides. I'm sure he only cares about himself but saving Steve could have served a purpose. What that could be I'm not sure yet. Anyway, he is a selfish SOB.
  24. That's such a wonderful thing to do! There are so many pets that need someone to take care of them. It may not be a huge deal to you but to the poor cats and dogs you saved it was probably a matter of life and death. My family has taken in a few animals over the years. One was a lost dog which the owners never tried to find or just left to wander the streets. He was being chased by a much larger dog when my mother's friend saved him. She had too many pets of her own so we took him. The other was also a dog. He was one of a large litter and needed a home. They both turned out to be good pets.
  25. Wow! 4200 people is alot. We could not only go to the/a moon but colonize it as well! Can't you just see one of Saturn's moons with a big rainbow flag planted in it? Seriously, its not the first time the idea has crossed my mind and I'm sure the same holds true for other members too. It would be fun to meet you all in person.
