This a really fun read! Glad to hear there’s another visit with the boys in the future.
-
These two, Jubal more so, are a fascinating combination of timid and bold. The wild horses aren’t the only ones needing to be corralled! Getting to where I’m going to need some ointment for the (slow) burn…

“You daft bat” nearly had coffee coming out of my nose! Really enjoyable getting to know the guys better as they plan for the future. Ahmad, the shopkeeper, Nick and their own impressive score card. Grand holiday!

I’m really tangled up in all the layers of otherness this represents. Emotionally taxing but it should be when a man is dead with no explanation. When a brother wolf is dead for no good reason. I’ll wait over here…

Past and present covered in these two recent chapters. On to the future? Really enjoying the foundation building.

I think you’re killing me with these stopping points.

I never would have guessed the ending at the beginning. Bobby’s story was a great surprise. Feels more lived than imagined. Solid cochlear implant information. Bobby signing stole my breath away. I can picture his ‘yes’ ❤️

Looking up through the floorboards from the darkness <sigh> A poignant and troubling glimpse of life with his birth vessel. It’s already clear she was no ‘mother’ at all. A new reason to love Otis even more ❤️

Antony is a pig and I’m definitely here for it! Excellent taste in tequila too.

If Brian mentioned how much longer he’d be away I missed it though I hope it isn’t long. As a once and former 14 year old guy I know well what a difficult age it can be especially for a lad that’s built a bit differently. I can only imagine the trouble Gay Times is going to cause. Love the letter from Brian!

Heroes survive. Heroes return from their battles, their missions, their adventures to then be recognized as heroes. There would be no Odyssey to read if Odysseus had perished. I would likely agree with whatever character traits are put forth but I propose none matter more than survival.

While I’m extremely curious about Reid I’m more concerned that Lucas and Jubal are going to ruin their boots with all this tiptoeing around each other.

I could offer multiple guess as to what’s going on with James but I won’t. I will check my popcorn supply and wait for the rest of the story and the history lesson. Something seemingly supernatural is afoot and this appears to be a completely different offering than your last novel. Excited to read along.

You have my attention! Your voice, Brian’s voice, is a pleasure to read. I couldn’t help but smile at the word choice and ‘nick’ made me hear my mum’s voice in my head. Thank you for that. Following you so I don’t miss a word. This is great read.

Perhaps there’s going to be a third boy? Is that what’s ‘missing’ around the edges? Calling Alex and Emmett ‘open minded’ seems like an understatement. They are adorable together.

This a whirlwind with a splash of rollercoaster. I enjoyed the fast pace and the sweet love-at-first-sight. If only every gay guy had a family like the Bennetts the world would be a better place.

Mess is exactly what I thinking while I was shaking my head at Travis. Under the jail? I’d expect…

Part Two. Chapter Eight.
Dan South commented on Mrsgnomie's story chapter in Part Two. Chapter Eight.
I’m the youngest but I hear and see you 100%. As an adult I can acknowledge that the adults, parents and others, didn’t know what to do other than to say ‘be quiet’. ‘Be the bigger person’ and variations on that theme. Jed IS amazing and I owe him an apology for thinking otherwise in a comment early on in the story. I deeply appreciate when art imitates life so realistically. That’s one of the talents @Mrsgnomie shares so generously. Apologies to Mrsg but I have to say the same is true of @kbois since she’s close at hand in the comments section ❤️ -
Word Gets Around and Closeness With Brandon
Dan South commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in Word Gets Around and Closeness With Brandon
Appreciate the beach fantasy scene! Morons like Mason rarely give up easily though I hope he does learn some kind of lesson from being knocked out in the parking lot. Great action in this chapter @Lee Wilson -
Every review posted here will let you know this is an epic love story. They are correct, it really is. Read this. Seriously. I am awed by the emphasis on communication. You’ll meet the two central characters as they learn to communicate with each other. Communication is just so key to their healthy relationship and the healing they both need. The happiness they both deserve. I’m posting this review one year and one day after I finished my first reading. I’ll come back again for the comfort, the uncomfortable, the unconditional acceptance that is in here. Read this. Seriously.

Chapter 11 Final Chapter- Anchored

A year and a day later I have to quote you so I can love this twice ❤️ -
Chapter 11 Final Chapter- Anchored
Dan South commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 11 Final Chapter- Anchored
I’ve had enough time to ruminate and feel like I can speak to this last, but not final, chapter. Love + Loss = Life. Been there, done that, have the t-shirt. I think what’s most beautiful about this novel is the re-discovery wrapped in the discovery. They’re parallel and completely overlapping. These guys learn each other in a completely different way. No more platonic love. Please accept this final paragraph as my official request for another modern love story. Maybe Carly … no, never mind. You’re not a killer ❤️ -
Chapter 10 Floating Toward Shore
Dan South commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 10 Floating Toward Shore
My reaction remains the same: ❤️ I’m pretty sure I didn’t comment on first read because there is so much happening in this chapter. Where to start? I am an absolute house whore so I couldn’t love the walkthrough with Alan more. You, dear Author, in another novel, designed a kitchen that I will build one day. COTT, maybe? Another love story, a different old house… Carly appears to be learning how to modulate her venom. Good. Mom is getting her groove on without anyone noticing. Great! A real feel good chapter and a great way to start my day. Thanks Gary❤️ -
Chapter 9 Surfing the Waves
Dan South commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 9 Surfing the Waves
For such a thoughtful guy that was a thoughtless thing for Jared to say about heights. Craig’s reaction, physically and emotionally, is very understandable. Bet that never happens again!
