  1. @Paya. Ugh.... just ugh!!!!!! I'm going to try to avoid reading these comments because they'll just make me furious. Im having a hard time keeping my tears back from watching the news. Didnt America drop two ****ing atomic bombs on Japan? Is it necessary to make such a comparison now? Is it ok to blame the present Japanese for something that happened years ago? It's totally irrelevant.
  2. That's horrible. I didn't read about that until my mum told me about it. :-( More than 200 people are dead. My heart goes out to those who have lost their loved ones. Thankfully, my maternal grandmother lives in Osaka.

In A Flat Spin めまいがして 混乱して Jovian How much damage could a spinning bottle in a game cause? ---- Special thanks and big hugs to Beastkid and Yap for beta-reading and editing  You guys are awesome! ---- Dedicated to Brian Rhoades, Marcus Hirabayashi and Lynne Chen for motivating me to weather a personal storm. **** “Daijoubu (Are you OK)?” A gentle voice was heard. Opening his bruised eyes, Toshihiro winced. A pungent odor from the canisters beside was nauseating. Co
  5. What is the sum of two and two?
  6. THE SUM OF TWO AND TWO Before you read this short play in two acts, it is crucial for you to understand that this play has no plot. Why? It is an absurdist play. To be precise, it is the theatre of the absurd. (Theatre of the Absurd: Plays stressing on the illogical aspects of modern life, usually to show that modern life is pointless.) However, to think that there is no meaning in this play is shallow. This play is like a picture. You analyze the picture by reading the characters’ acti
  7. The Little Girl with the Steel bowl by Jovian W What is the price of innocence in a war-torn country? **Dedicated to David McLeod for being a wonderful editor and, more importantly, a trustworthy friend ** -- “Have you seen the little girl with the steel bowl?” “No.” “Are you sure?” -- In Hong Kong, money defined everything – from fashion to law and to religion. Without money, society would fail; however, that idea was incomprehensible in Afghanistan.

  13. OK, dont deny! I'm sure you sing in the shower!! What do you sing when you're showering? Unless I need to cheer myself up, I don't usually sing when I'm showering because my parents would think me weird. But I would mostly sing some hillsongs or some oldies

  18. Omg, my exbf was totally into this book. He told me he had cried at least seven times reading it He gave me the book before he left for China and I have it sitting in my bookcase. I dont really have the time to read it now because I've so many other books to read. Perhaps one day.<br>
  19. The best things that had happened to me this year were: meeting a guy named Ed, being in a relationship with him, and having my heart broken when he moved to China to teach English. I felt a kind of love I had never felt before and a kind of lost that I had never experienced. I call that one of the best things because, I guess, it has instilled upon me a sense of hope. Being together with him, or simply knowing him on a level other than a simple friendship means that I could be loved. He has since found himself another bf, but we're still good friends . I hope our lives cross again in the future...
  20. Get well soon Lacey! I'm sure everything will turn out all right !!

  23. All Dogs go to Heaven I loved that film! Personally, my favorite childhood film (and it still resonates heavily with me today) would be Hotaru no haka (Grave of the fireflies). Yep, I was exposed to such tragic films when I was little Mum and I used to watch that film together on VCR once every few months
  24. To wear shoes/sneakers into a Japanese household (or Chinese/ Korean) is a HUGE no no! Your shoes will be left on a genkan (at the entrance). You'll be provided with slippers. But, even with the tatami mats on the floor, you can't walk on them with slippers . So most, if not ALL of the time, you're either wearing socks or going barefooted.
  25. I cannot articulate how greatly I am affected by this. This is really shocking. I'll be saying a prayer for you and your little brother tonight. I'll keep him in my thoughts as well. May he find Heaven a more blissful place than Earth. *hugs tightly*
