This story (and that of Mitch and Will) didn’t disappoint. I’ve been meaning to read a cowboy’s story and was ready if it’ll end like it did in Brokeback Mountain. Was curious with the title though, why ‘Sidewinder’?

Still frustrating though that to Rusty it was all an experiment, a game. Jonathan probably saw that too. He was compensating the two “That means you two had fun.” An acknowledgment from Matty and Rusty’s beaming face were priceless.

Matty deserved that definitely. I’m not entirely sure if Rusty had expected Matty to ask for his ass. Almost as if he couldn’t say no, not after what Matty had done, not to someone who’s important to him. While it seemed Matty saw the ‘opportunity’, I supposed the set was just perfect. He claimed what’s his finally 😬 I was surprised that Rusty sort of told Jonathan literally that he had bottomed for Matty. A guess Jonathan was a little shocked as well. And Zoey as usual just too happy for her best friend 😬 Understanding and appreciate Jonathan with his ‘carrot and stick’ rules, am a little pissed that the boys didn’t get to tease Rusty 😂

Matty chuckled, that same sound that made Rusty feel weak in the knees. In all his life, he had only heard Jonathan laughing like that, but Matty was even better. He seemed so harmless to the outside world, and yet, man, what a man. I find it interesting that Rusty have thought that about Jonathan and was comparing the two. And in the previous chapter Rusty mentioned about longing for a bromance? even laid traps for Maddox? And was he really successful with Dex? 😬 Rusty had more than what he bargained for with Matty and probably would trigger his true feelings whatever that is 😅😬 to neutralise Matty’s guilt.

Definitely unexpected but am glad it happened and about time. High five Matty! 🍻 Rusty was probably in his most vulnerable state ever after the birthday party and Matty must have seen it and took the chance at hand. Rusty was thankful and ready to fulfil Marty’s wish. However even with the last two paragraphs I still feel there wasn’t a connection there. I mean how can there be any? Can Matty continue to play along? Or will guilt consume him even more?

This is my second and this time I read the interludes first. Jesse’s was my favourite. I can’t wait for his story to be told and I actually choked almost in tears when Danny had found him in, “CJ, I found him sleeping in that little orange grove by the lake.” “You mean the one we used to…” Jesse was meant to be theirs. Almost as if Danny gave birth to him 😂 (sorry that was a bit corny).

“If a guy doesn’t excel at something, it’s like he’s worthless in his eyes.” “Is that why you’re the king of Sunny Hill?” “What?” Matty looked away. The question had come to him unbidden, like it was a logical conclusion that Rusty was trying to impress his dad in his own way. Spending one afternoon, Matty seemed to know the right answers, asking the on spot question already. I wonder if Maddox has already gone through all these questions with Rusty.

I have mixed feelings for this chapter. For some reasons it felt sadness is the main theme this time. That laughing would be somewhat cruel. Am glad Rusty feels that Matty is an ‘important’ person in his life enough to invite him to the birthday party. To let him be himself around Matty for he can’t afford not to, not in front of his dad. If he can be himself then and on the way back, there is hope that he can always be true to himself around Matty. August could be a threat to that possibility though. I hope not.

When had been the last time he had seen Roy Parker smile like that? Matty felt Mr. Parker’s hand on his shoulder, heavy and warm, and he wondered when the last time was Rusty had been spoiled on his birthday by his father. When he was five? Or seven? Bet Superman can knock some sense into Roy’s thick head.

Is there Book2 Gary? 😬 I finished the book last night and it was an easy and fast read for me. Warren surprised me and he’s one of me fav characters. I wasn’t normally drawn to fantasy, I rather watch than read them. I’m glad I stopped by. Your comments on one of Parker’s story brought me here. I really enjoyed reading your comments on each story in there. Thanks man!

This is a well written story and a must read for all even if you’re not a fan of shifter stories. It has all the ingredients of a great piece but the one that really stood up for me was the many twists upto the end of it. I thought they were presented quite subtly.

It’s hard to explain but it did feels raw, dark yet innocent. Funny yet sad. It was beautifully written definitely.

That was short and sweet. I like it I never thought what was it like to love someone nor like someone. I had crushes perhaps more like a celebrity crush. It was Ryan O’neal (love story) first then Bo Derek (on bikini on the beach) and pretty sure they were few more along the way. Nothing sexual though. But what took me by surprise or rather confused me was when one of my friends said a girl liked me, admired me. I was 11 going 12 that time. Forgive my rant it just came to mind

Currently the lawyer is all we have to hope that Brooklands isn’t a bad person. I do suspect the two has some kind of a relationship, probably intimate. I hate to see the family falls apart and hope the Duke will take the initiative again to admit his mistakes. Freddie isn’t much a threat and can easily be tamed a suppose. It’s the bitch Davina that’s poisoning the family. if the King would intervened further a hope it’s because he was pleased with the family, maybe give due titles where necessary and who knows little Alexander will get something as well.

It had to be done. In a way am glad it happened. Scott needed to get through the whole process.
