Davin wanted Joel to say it. The way Davin acts it’s like he’s much more observant than anyone else in the room and knows it but he’s almost smug about it. But I don’t think he’s being malicious at all. I think he’s actually interested in Joel and I’d go so far as to bet attracted to him. I think he’s aware SOMETHING happened. He’s got to notice how jumpy Joel is. He’s got to know there’s a reason for it. I think he’s giving Joel a chance to move at his own pace without scaring him off. It’s dicey, daring even. But I Davin is very smart

BUHAHAHA the boy is a bit tense. Perhaps that girlfriend isn’t doing much for him

Sigh. Well I think we all kind of saw this coming but maybe not to the rapid extent so quickly. Johnny being there wasn’t a surprise which also means Roy would be there too. Joel tagging Johnny was going to happen at some point at the falls. Johnny is such an asshole he can’t help himself. Roy is…curiously perceptive. This makes him interested in the Joel’s story. The fact he’s been shut down twice by Joel and now his brother too is only going to make him more curious. But his curiosity seems more out concern more than anything. I have a feeling he might become more of an interceding friend between Joel and whatever happens with his old school. At least this way Joel can keep informed. As for Colt, he’s a bit of a typical teen with a girlfriend. His going to push back where he can some. The fight isn’t going to make matters there any better. Colt was tasked to keep Joel drama free and he chose to ignore him. I have a feeling Colt is going to catch hell about that at home. Joel will defend him on that though and it’ll frustrate Colt more because Joel shouldn’t have to. The conversation between them will be heated but air clearing and in so I think Colt will keep his secret from others but not before Davin and Joel resume their conversation. Davin is 💯 interested in Joel and has figured out the story. So at least there’s a few allies for Joel.

Worry about Monday on Monday. Today has enough trouble of its own.

An Answer in a Question
SilentandBroken commented on Jeff Burton's story chapter in An Answer in a Question
Eli is a treasure who is clearly not naive and inexperienced in the world and streets. Yet he’s still not corrupted and he’s still as sweet as ever to Simon. Great chapter -
Noah is a predator. Perhaps not a full blown narcissist yet but he’s close
-
Of course what I meant in this is that Jack cherishes Nick and the one they’ve created. Alerting authorities would likely pull Jack out of school permanently and away from Nick
-
The emotion in Jack’s plea to “not ruin this” would keep me from saying anything for now because it would only pull Jack away and back to California and possibly for good. It would crush both boys. Jonah deserves a huge kiss on the cheek for standing up for Nicky. That said, HE needs to snatch up Danny asap. As for Noah, give him time. He’ll screw up again

If something does happen I’d hope the twins at least have Joel’s back. I think there’s a certain level of attraction there on both sides. Maybe something will come of that while at the falls.
-
Ok I get it. I was wondering if that was his thing. I experienced that at my worst but I wasn’t sure if there was more to it
-
I’d be very anxious going to the falls if my classmates and friends were known to be there often like Colt said. Speaking of Joel’s general anxiety, why is he so jumpy?
-
This Colt resistance dynamic is gnawing at me. Sure he doesn’t know the why. He may or may not know teens from Joel’s school. It does still seem kind of too early in summer to start the panic at Joel’s school where he’s been etc as it’s been discussed in previous chapter commentary. I wonder if Colt views Joel as a threat or the enemy in a rival sort of way. But I don’t really think that’s it either. Colt is really outwardly argumentative towards his parents save that one spat between him and between him and his mother. Is Colt a closet case and suddenly having to deal with this boy making him all the more frustrated and feeling like he can’t be out? Does or has he messed around with the twins? Maybe that’s why the twins did that joke about the meat. Speaking of them, they seem to be very accepting.

Guess I did. Oops

Whiskey in the Water
SilentandBroken commented on Jeff Burton's story chapter in Whiskey in the Water
I got the vibe of Chevelle, particularly this track reading this first chapter. -
Ok caught up. Time to bring this great story off long term hold. Must. Have. More.

Wondered when this would happen
-
Maybe it’s just me but I feel like Ezra isn’t done yet. I hope so but I feel he isn’t
-
I’m already suspecting he has a pretty powerful story himself
-
I felt Simon’s battle and I felt Eli’s grief. I felt the girl’s frustration and hurt. Had me teary eyed
-
Omg..I’ve been there before myself..well, chapter 1 but not to the point of the drugs. Just the alcohol and hating myself to the point of not caring if I died. Feeling like nobody cares..nobody’d notice. I just want to hug you so hard. Eli is so sweet. I have longed for someone like that my whole life. You have a way with your words that just..sigh. I don’t know how else to express it. So many one liners that are absolutely perfect. They’re weighted and heavy and perfectly powerful.

Dizzy continues to surprise me with how great a partner he’s becoming to Artie. Glad Artie told his father to go pound sand back to Dallas
-
Sigh Artie doesn’t get it. He’s going to get hurt. His response will hurt him and Dizzy most.
-
Ok wait a second.. Artie…dafuq kid? Did you just invite your biased narrow minded Texas father to a “BBQ” in San Francisco? Oh this’ll go over so well. Now that said, dude, take the rose colored glasses off.look at your FAMILY and FRIENDS. None of them have even a warm opinion of Ezra. Get. A . Clue.
-
I think more than ever now Ezra is looking like a narcissist or a super sick sexual predator which to me, is one and the same bc I was raped by one. But I digress. If he isn’t either of those, I’d be shocked but I would still say he likes his control in all ways possible and when he scoped out the area around where Adam and Artie lived and the school, no doubt he was orienting himself. He had the business address. If it’s in the same area roughly, it’s in the school district. Hell, it sounds like he’s got the address to the field for the game later so the rest is public record. I’m just glad he had the wherewithal to not directly give Ezra their home address to make it all that much more easier. I wonder if Dizzy will happen upon him in the middle of the night on the way to sneaking into Artie’s room and sees him being sneaky. There is more to this guy. The conversations Artie has overheard he’s NEEDED to hear. Now he needs to act on the correctly. Everyone is learning on the fly here and yeah, it’s hard. But look at the growth. From everyone. Mason has been a savior. I love his wisdom.
-
Ok first off..both Artie and Dizzy have great points each and they’re both right for PART of their logic. Artie for trying to give Ezra a chance after not knowing him at all in 16yrs. Dizzy for saying Artie didn’t back up Adam. For my take, Ezra did kind of manipulate the evening. I guess dinner with Colleen never happened? Ezra is slick, but his manipulation is not invisible. I think Artie hearing Adam and mason’s convo is as a BIG eye opener for him. Let’s see if things change.
