I know. I’m just being playful. Don’t rush a great thing.

I give you the best cover of that song ever.. https://youtu.be/6HYxAtpBO_A

That’s awesome. It’s so cool to see twins. To me, it’s definitely something special. To have multiple sets in the same family is even more cool. There are 3 sets of girl/girls in my family but I did grow up with a twin set of boys in my class. They weren’t identical twins but they definitely were close. I find the whole twin dynamics fascinating

The school board might flip their stance. Or they could lose some funding from donors. Now we wait
-
Bringing Jack’s situation to greater light might backfire even more and put him into even more risk of danger. All his folks gotta do is pull him from school completely. I don’t see that happening at this point UNLESS more pointed shade is thrown at them. plus, Nick still has those photos. Save that ace.

Not to rush a great thing here but I’m getting restless lol 😆

My family has 3 sets of twins in it. I’ve seen that bonding first hand. It IS their love language but just to each other. Everyone else can go pound sand. The one BIG tell I neglected to point out was how first off quasi confrontational Davin got with Gavin when Gavin tried to leave for Faith’s. He got in front of him, as to block him from going. Then, when Gavin did, all of Davin’s spark deflated in him with the drop of his shoulders. With twins, it’s literally that magical how they are of the same brain wave with their thinking and for a lack of better term, completeness. So when they’re apart, they’re sort of..lost. I see it all the time with my cousins and aunts. Wombmates have a love you have to see to truly understand. You got close in your subtle expressions in this chapter. I hope there’s more of this to come.

Oh I know it will. But that house was so..sterile…don’t get me wrong. There was good takeaways from this chapter. First off, it was quite clear both Joel and Davin have some serious interest in each other and both are too timid to make the first move. Secondly, Gavin is 💯 aware and teases is brother about it as only a brother can and should. In a way, doing so is essentially daring Davin to make the first move , and brothers being brothers, no doubt there’s a competitive edge between them in just about everything. So, kudos to Gavin here. Thirdly, the bitterness quite evident from the twins towards their parents is palpable. It was so apparent neither of them wanted to spend a second longer in that house under the cameras and helicopter parenting from afar, literally across the globe. Kudos to Joel for forcing Davin to leave a few things for the cleaners to pick up. That was clearly something Davin wasn’t used to doing. That brings us to the conversation of the elephant in the room so to speak. What Joel is going to do regarding which school he’s going to attend?Nothing was determined in the end yet but at least it’s out on the table and they can talk about it. All of that is progress. It’s slow and I’m ready to see growth but it is progress.

Might as well release the next chapter as nothing happened here. I’m starting to think Davin needs Joel just as much.

Ugh… I would lose my ever loving mind in that house. The twins parents..how awful are they!! The twins aren’t their children, they’re their collectibles. I don’t blame either of them one bit.

The sum ? Perhaps in part.

It absolutely is

Me too. I’m right there with you. I’m 45 now and some coming to age stories are …negative experiences and some are positive but resulting in what should’ve been for me. So I’ll live vicariously through those stories. I pulled myself out of the ashes of a horrendous teen years life and into a young adult life to have some semblance of stability now. I still struggle with my past trauma. Yes I’ve had professional help. I was pretty touch and go for a bit there. But to say I wear it like armor now? I have no idea. I’m just here trying to survive day to day without folding. I’m night and day better than where I was at my worst absolutely. But, none of my story happened overnight. Nor will I heal overnight either. I don’t have expectations that I will be 💯 healed ever because trauma doesn’t leave you. It does shape you going forward however. Does it define me? I don’t know. I don’t know if I’m the one to speak on that. Those in my inner circle might be better positioned to speak on that. That said, if I were a betting man, I’d say it’d be a split vote.

I won’t look at another swimmer now without thinking of that story

Tis is beginning to have a Dead Poets Society feel to it only Mr. Keating is a student named Jonah. i literally was cracking up at the exchange in the bedroom between Nick and Jonah. Then to have my emotions completely nearly wrecked with Mr.G. Sigh…this could go either way this “plan” Nick and Christian come up with. And it may not matter. Jack is in danger now . Nick needs to show those pics to the Dean and to his mother. Great chapter

I am really hoping those boys can help Joel learn to let his guard down some…that he can start to learn how to trust again. Right now, he’s still wanting to but scared & rightly so.

I think if Joel doesn’t warm up and open up to Celia very soon, the heat from his family will be too much for him to handle by himself. They’re not done giving him stress yet.

I think the brothers are exactly the thing Joel needs after that phone call. Shit even I was starting to feel the anxiety. Celia has put the numbers together and is waiting at half way for Joel to come to her. I have a feeling Joel is going to make a lot of ground up and start to open up.

Great story. I have to agree with the opinion of others here that Brett couldn’t get off the fence loss in himself. The idea that Brett loves Corey more than a friend but less than a lover is absolutely spot on. Had they stayed together the cycle would no doubt continue. This was the best ending possible
-
Well I mostly called it. I honestly expected Adrian to get beat worse and be in ICU. Still though, getting rocked by an iron fireplace poker on the side of your head can cause some serious serious damage. Adrian is lucky he didn’t catch him in the temple, as that likely would’ve killed him. Or cracked his skull. Adrian’s mother is also lucky she didn’t catch a beat down for siding with Adrian. Corey better watch his back. There’s no restraining order for him. As for Corey facing Brett, they need to come to an understanding. Brett needs to make up his damn mind. He forced the issue. He pulled away. I get why Brett’s mom was pissed. She wanted them to talk before the game so Brett could focus. She probably has idea what happened with Corey and Adrian prior to the game.
-
I agree. I feel Adrian’s father is gonna beat him and put him back on the hospital and this time, with serious injuries. Then he’s going to find Corey, which will be is last move. Corey’s dad will destroy him
