    I kinda like the German accent, tho it goes with the fact that my best friend is german and that I've studied german too. I can't answer if I'd still like it if that wasn't the case I would gladly be the teacher.

    You're right about it, using cliffhanger as ending of every chapter dilutes the effect after a while, at that point you gotta find an even bigger cliffhanger when you'll need of one. You're totally right, you can get into lots of trouble if you take the credit for something that isn't yours. CJ, you're doing the right thing in giving people their fair due. you're logic is illogic,,, if you call a snake a "serpert" then a serpent wouldn't be a snake,

    OMG, We don't really drive that fast,,, alright maybe I was driving in ontario, I was used to driving a good 120, my dad warn me, to slow down and wait till we're back in Quebec. anyhow,, that was off topic, but I felt like I needed to defend myself, I gotta say that I do love to hear "te quiero", it sounds so sweet. But really, a "Je t'aime" or a "I love you" is always nice to hear. sacha

    :wacko: How could you make such an assertion!! I was totally sane, I had all my head when I made that declaration. And I still stand behind what I said. But, tiger, I am NOT brown nosing goats. And I can disagree with you on certain things while still be your friend Chapter 19 wasn't a cliffhanger,, it was like you said,, about building anticipation.

    Ummm, alright this one is going to be hard.. -The Harry Potter series -JK Rowling -Deception Point - Dan Brown (I find it better than the Da Vinci Code) -Violets are blue - James Patterson (for the very nice sex scene description 3g 1w ) no seriously I'd say all of the Alex Cross series is very good

    Welcome to the club Mattie! I won't repeat what graeme and beastkid said, but they, of course got it right. Even at 117 pages it can still be called a story, I'm sure that we can find stories that, counting all the chapter, amounts to more than that. As for the characters running away on their own, well, try taking some time off, then return to the story you'll see it from another point of view, and that can be helpful. If not, well try to get yourself a betareader (or whatever) to read it and give you pointers. don't worry about people wanting to read it!! I'm sure it's good. again, welcome sacha

    I don't know. I wouldn't consider The Shadows as "famous people". I mean, it's been said at more than one occasion that they needed the gig to really launch their career. They're still an opening act, so I wouldn't say that about them just yet.

    Tiger, tiger, tiger,, I'm really sorry not to help you on this. But it's a fact very known that CJ doesn't use Cliffhangers. That all the cliffhangers that you might read are added by his "post production" team! sacha

    wow, I really, it seems like I don't take notice on detail on the type of narration, I was sure that you had wrote more 3rd person. It's still very well managed, CJ. I find writing in 3rd person easier tho. sacha

    Knowing CJ, the 4x can easily mean something totally different. Something random. I don't talk by experience, but I'm guessing that if you want to get rid of 4 people it's a little obvious that it's gonna cost 4 times the price of only one kill, there would be no need to say it as it's a bonus. So, the 4x really doesn't have to mean 4 people.

    sorry for a moment I thought we were on the chapter discussion. but, I gotta agree with EMoe57, if someone go and read what 5 pages into the forum without having read the chapters... and anyhow just from reading the titles of some of the thread they'd already know and would have gotten even false spoilers "Who do you think have died", "who will have an accident" but agreed, I'll be more careful.
