    Bruce got things from both parents, as we'll soon find out. Not much of it good. No comment on the exaggeration. Yeah, aside from mentioning his parents were both dead, there hasn't been much there, but unlike Bruce, it does seem like they did a good job. Glad you enjoyed the retort. No argument here.

    Tuesday Manny sent Rocky to school with a note, stating that he missed due to a doctor’s appointment. Rocky didn’t want to go, but, once again, was not given a choice. He had no way of knowing at that time, but an unexpected, extended vacation would happen soon. Kenny and Steve both asked where he had been the day before on the bus to school. "I had a doctor's appointment." Kenny continued first, "You're not sick, are you?" "No. It was kind of a check-up." 'Check-up

    Hadn't considered that specifically, but it's a nice side effect. No, I post them around midnight my time and there are a lot of comments to respond to when I wake up. Blow up in their face. Interesting choice of words, considering that's essentially how he got a stepmother. Well, chapter 18 isn't posted yet, so there's still time to change it to make you right. Or would it be wrong?

    I know laying more trauma on Rocky was a bit much, but I needed something severe enough to justify his feelings. There's more discussion on this topic coming. Hopefully, I cover it well enough. My sentiments exactly.

    Yeah, this could open a huge can of worms best not opened here. Manny never really had much responsibility before Rocky came along, but he has stepped up to the plate quite well.

    Yeah, for sure, the back story on Bruce needs to be enriched. Not to mention his future. Stepmother was somewhat of a gold-digger. Had her good points, like schooling Rocky, but had much to be desired. Thanks. I try.

    Definitely. Like I mentioned above, a plot hole I left open that will need addressing.

    Yeah, I think I may have missed closing the door on this. I think there may be a slight delay in chapter 18, going to have send another update to my editor. Now that I've looked again, chapter 19 is where this aspect of the story continues. I know I get pretty serious at times, a little occasional humor is almost a requirement.

    What's good for the goose is good for the gander. Not every person is alike, gay or not. By standing up to Bruce, Rocky gave his new friends some confidence, it seems. Maybe if the message is heard often enough, people will finally get it. Nope, no excuse, but a little more of Bruce's history appears in the next two chapters.

    Sunday Night Rocky has been thinking about Bruce since he called him a fruit on Thursday. That, and hanging out with his two new gay friends on Saturday, all made some memories come bubbling to the surface overnight into Monday. Bass heard Rocky scream "Nooooooo!"
