    Manny took Bass' actions lighter because Bass' victims had an association with Wally. Anger over what happened to him could easily overrule other emotions. Your opinion about Bwuce is well formed. You will get another chance to vent at him, I'm sure of it. I'd say hold that though for a few chapters. You may end up with a different opinion about it. Thanks. I think more of those unbiased opinions will be "heard."

    Sometimes you're in a no-win situation with bullies. Often no matter how much you win in battles, sometimes the war is lost anyway. I could have indicated the school didn't even know Manny was in the hospital. But, if you've ever spent an extended period of time hospitalized, you'll know that any distraction is welcome. Even a phone call from an unknown caller.

    No apology, at least not yet. Glad you liked the fwuit response. I think it was an episode of the little rascals where I think it was Scottie who said, "They'll never learn." Will that be the case here? We shall see, won't we?

    Rocky made Bruce miss a couple days of school. Call it a suspension. Yes, interaction with gay boys his own age is a lot different than with Manny and Bass. It will take him some time to find his comfort level. Yep, like I said above, there will not much anger to flood over to family. You noticed the going too well. I wonder what the author has planned.

    Rocky's actions were self-defense, Bass' purely anger. Bass inflicted a lot more damage as well. Mr. Delber will be making another appearance.

    All true. I didn't want to make the family suffer too much from Manny's anger. Manny saw that Rocky was only defending himself, so punishment was tame. There will be more interaction with his school friends.

    Rocky ran into the house. He saw Sandy first. "Where's Bass?" "I'm not sure, maybe his room." Rocky hit the stairs two at a time up to Bass' room. He knocked, but there was no answer. While he was upstairs, he changed his shirt. He'd have to mention it to Linda, maybe she knew some trick to get the blood out. Rocky's next choice was the study. He knocked and opened the door.     Not if the treasure was there. but if it wasn't, and there wasn't a second cave-in, they'd be able to save themselves the trouble. Hot crossed buns? Personally, I see Ben being slightly homophobic, but because it's his cousin, he tolerates it; but screams bloody murder when he wakes up to see them having sex.

    Should they invite Courtney Love for a threesome? Great chapter. A couple ideas on supplies for next year: Something to poke a small hole through the rocks, maybe a long telescoping truncheon. Add to that a fiberoptic camera. They can push the head of the cable through the hole previously opened and see if there's anything back there without a lot of back-breaking, and possibly dangerous, manual labor.

    Like I said above, he apparently assumed it was an accident, although the teacher at the buses definitely was weak. Oh, Bruce started it alright. More on that later. I think I Made mention somewhere that Manny's work insurance wasn't very good. He has other options, as we'll see in later chapters. Considering he's Russian, maybe Drago would have been a better nickname.

    The counseling will happen, just, really pretty much in the background. Bass will definitely make Loretta Lynn happy and ‘stand by his man.’ No major hassles are planned for the rest of Rocky’s first week. After that, I make no promises. Probably early Wednesday you’ll get your wish.
