A very enjoyable chapter. The interview and video footage are off to a very positive start. I don't think we have seen he last of Zack.

It is easy to confuse words like dapple and dabble, not that we would, however I'm sure those suffering teenagers would still find an opportunity to dabble in some extra-curricular fun under a pear tree's dappled solitude.

Thank you @Summerabbacat for this thoughtful comment. What can I say to the praise? I do my best. Joshua's early revelations about what he was required to for the videos suggest he's not a virgin. As with @VBlew, hold your thoughts and see what happens.

Thank you @VBlew. Hold onto those thoughts and see what happens.

Tossing down my cards, I'm vexed that I didn't see that coming.

Could we start a vibe that text messages that are "causing annoyance, frustration, or worry" are referred to as tevexing.

Shania is a fascinating addition to this story. She is tying Tony's, and eventually Luke's, past to their future. Unlike horoscopes her forecasts for Tony contain more specifics than generalizations. I am now keen to find out which, and to what extent, those prophesies become reality. I am pleased that Mike, Jess and Kellie will be in T'Ville for the party. After all of them experiencing the rejection by a certain "mother", they will find themselves surrounded by the understanding, supportive and loving people they need in their lives. A great chapter.

That recollection reverberated with me. -
That was my thought as well. 😊

Yes, you are right. Brody has been important as a support for Daniel, especially when Daniel eventually opened up about his past. He has also encouraged Daniel to report the abuse he suffered. Now he is proving that he will continue to help Daniel. Both Daniel and Joshua will continue to need support.

As the evidence builds there may be more pressure on them from the lawyers to plead guilty. At the time of his arrest, Uncle Phil tried to blame his wife but the evidence points to him.

Thanks @Ticklishboy30. You have the cutest gifs
-
Thanks @chris191070. Joshua and Daniel certainly have a lot of support and a chance to feel safe.

Good comment @pvtguy. Remember that after Joshua told the police what he knew, they didn't rush but did their own further investigation. Also they had already been been aware of the child porn videos. By the time they made the arrests they already had a lot of evidence. However the legal system can be slow. Remember that quote about "the wheels of justice".

Thank you @Mark Ponyboy Peters. I'm pleased you're enjoying it.

Thanks for commenting @Lynx003. Daniel's evidence is very similar to Joshua's because they had both been used in the same way. The importance of his evidence is that it strengthens the case against the uncle and aunt. I agree with you on the need for counselling.

Chapter 10 is now posted, but maybe not with the answers you anticipated. Some of that will come later. Are you thinking of Adam's board being donated to the cafe in Stingray Heads? Hold onto that thought.

As expected, Uncle Phil and Aunt Mary had their lawyer seek a court order to release them on bail. The Prosecutor opposed bail, especially as the police were still collecting and processing evidence. By the time the court started, Joshua and Daniel were represented and also ready to oppose bail being granted. The Magistrate looked over the information before her. Uncle and Aunt were being presented as respectable citizens who were pleading not guilty, were not a danger to the community and

Caught perving. Embarrassing but the neighbour is more exhibitionist than annoyed.

Why did those parts of the contract giving LiveFeed rights to everything seem familiar. Oh that's right, it's like the contracts for all those social media and cloud storage sites that we click agree to without even finishing reading the first page. Yes Jamie isn't alone there. I just hope he doesn't stay alone but accepts the available help, be it Hearst or maybe those on the bus.

Whenever I'm engrossed in reading a paper my cat loves to spread herself across what I'm reading. -
discrepancy - Word of the Day - Thu Jun 19, 2025

Thank you @Bill W for indicating the common root for both discordant and discrepancy. What they both still have in common is referring to a worrying difference which should not occur. -
Quote: where the first settlement was established, on the site of what is now the Royal Botanical Gardens. @Mark Ponyboy Peters, you and I obviously grew up at a time when we had Botanical gardens. I have fond memories of my horticultural uncle taking me on enjoyable and informative visits to Sydney's Royal Botanical Gardens. However, at some time since then, when I wasn't looking, the name changed to the Royal Botanic Gardens, along with the other similar gardens across Australia. An excellent chapter setting the scene for the formal Australia Day celebrations and what will be a much less formal party.

I agree that Aaron still has insecurities that he has to resolve. Aaron does have to understand and accept that Tony is back for good, not just back in Thompsonville, but also back totally for Aaron. Tony has already hinted at them travelling together. I suspect that when Tony goes back to Brisbane to pack up the unit and prepare it for sale, Aaron with be there helping him.

I can see this party being a blast with lots of people catching up with each other as well as celebrating. Not quite glamping but getting close. 🎪 Anyway, what could be more appropriate for two young gay guys than stylishly going camp(ing)! Aaron is understandably still somewhat insecure, so it is encouraging that Tony is attuned to Aaron's feelings and keeps offering reassurance.
