Quote: ‘Splendid, splendid,’ Martin cooed. ‘We’ll talk to the Writers’ Centre and see what they might have that we can use, and we’ll see if the powers that be in Thompsonville could do with another guest at tomorrow’s event as well. We can send a presenter and a cameraman out there to catch some footage and ask some questions.’ This piqued my interest. I think Tony will be more involved with Thomsonville's Australia Day celebrations than he realizes, especially if "and we’ll see if the powers that be in Thompsonville could do with another guest at tomorrow’s event as well." means what I suspect it does. All to be captured on video. Certainly star quality. Tony's hopes for the future are all becoming more possible along with thoughts for more published works.

pugnacious - Word of the Day - Wed Jun 11, 2025

Now this is something I expect on every flight I I board. -
Harry insisted on one last photo of Aaron and me together before we left, Now Harry has a photo of Tony with a shirtless, shorts wearing Aaron and at least one photo of Aaron with a towel wearing Tony. The girls in the office should enjoy the beefcake. Now will Shi-Anne want to use them in promotional material. 🥵

To quote Frank Crowninshield, "the only perfect climate is bed." Especially in this weather.

I've just looked at the forecast @Summerabbacat and tomorrow in Stingray Heads it will be 11 to 22 degrees, and sunny.
-
Have you been looking over my notes, @Anton_Cloche? Part 2 still has some more chapters to go, before considering "5 years on". Maybe a story set in Stingray Heads
-
Thanks for commenting @Philippe. Jordan and his legal colleagues now have access accounts and bank records to chase Joshua and Daniel's inheritance as well as represent them in the trials where their evidence is used. "Proceeds of crime" can be confiscated.
-
Thank you for your comment @Summerabbacat. Daniel telling the police will help him as well as the investigation.
-
You have made some very important points here. Thank you.
-
Josh and Daniel have some more healing to go through as well as having to cope with the court case. The police have plenty of evidence.
-
@Ticklishboy30, you'll just have to wait to find out.

Yes the arrests have started and it is now up the the courts and child welfare services to sentence the offenders and support the victims. Unfortunately this would be just one of many unrelated groups producing child pornography worldwide. The biggest problem is the existence of people prepared to pay to watch this material. Unfortunately, while they exist and provide a demand, there will be people only too willing to make the videos.
-
It's not that sort of stingray connection, but Stingray Heads is significant.
-
I agree with @Philippe that Harry is the hero for this chapter and like @weinerdog I wondered about the towel, especially when Tony hugged Aaron and kissed his forehead. How much of an only towel clad Tony is in that photo for the office?

It may seem strange that the etymology of sneer would include the Old English 'fnǣran', especially as they seem to start with different sounds, |s|for sneer and |f| for 'fnǣran'. However the "f" is actually a later substitution for the 'long s' which was used in medieval manuscripts and looks like an elongated elaborate lower case 'f'. I know it totally confused me when I first came across it as a student. All this means is that the 'f' in 'fnǣran' is pronounced as |s|.

Thanks everyone for pointing out the problem. Last night I went in to make a small edit but a glitch with my computer just kept reposting the chapter. Then wasn't able to delete what had been reposted. All I could do was leave it until this morning and try again. All fixed now. I hope. 🤞

Inspector Noel Lawson wanted to be in two places at once. He wanted to be present when Horse was arrested and also present when Joshua’s uncle was arrested. To some extent both had become intertwined and personal, especially as Horse had thwarted his earlier attempt to arrest Joshua’s uncle. Following protocol, all the raids, arrests and searches would be video recorded, and he could watch them later but being present when a corrupt police officer like Horse was being arrested won out.

I'm with @refueling835 in thinking Danny isn't just an "average Joe", but much more, including being Ryder's mate. So far we only know of "the curse" in very general terms, mainly that it endangers the pack. No specific details on how the curse works or how it endangers the pack. Like @refueling835 I think Danny is actually a wolf and he is the subject of the curse, which is preventing him knowing and understanding his true self. Even so it seems Danny is undergoing changes. There is still Pembroke and his role in all this. He recognised Ryder as a wolf and as a danger to his own status. Things are moving quickly and it is nearly full moon.

frivolous - Word of the Day - Sunday Jun 1, 2025
Paladin commented on Myr's blog entry in Writing World
@Myr's example "The lawsuit was dismissed as frivolous, wasting the court's time with baseless claims". shows how a word that is in common use can have a similar but specialist meaning within a profession. @sandrewn's examples of the use of frivolous which includes "having no sound basis (as in fact or law)" attests to this specialist use in law (and philosophy). -
To me the restaurant scene is weird, and that is weird in a Livefeed sort of way. Arthur isn't there, the restaurant is out of Jamie's league and comfort zone, the maître d’ knows which table leaving Jamie alone until Arthur arrives, the waiter arrives unbidden with menus that Jamie doesn't understand and Arthur starts to come onto Jamie. OK where are the cameras?

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this chapter, especially for the family feel and support. I really enjoyed the childish honesty of Toby who ended the family heart to heart about being gay and potentially being bullied and molested with Toby said, ‘Have you guys finished talking yet? Can we eat now? In the tradition of Christmas, Charlie and Kieran could be starting their own tradition of spending the afternoon following Christmas lunch, having loving sex. It beats spending the afternoon playing horseshoes, quoits or bocci in the back yard, especially when followed up with more loving sex again at night. These guys don't need those toys to play! They just need to play around and TOY. 😆

The Dark Side of Jamie Vayne
Paladin commented on Laura S. Fox's story chapter in The Dark Side of Jamie Vayne
awww shucks, and here I was thinking you'd just blab it out -
I seem to be forever trying to get all the Bindis out of my lawn.

Tony wants his relationship with Aaron to work, and last, this time so he is careful not to rush things. Aaron is, and has every reason to be, fragile when it comes to lasting relationships and that can only be overcome slowly and lovingly. Things are going well but will things go as well with Tony's change of writing genre?

If we're chasing tropes for identifying Australia we should not forget crocodiles, even if Thompsonville is too far south for them. Thinking of crocodiles, maybe an update would be Robert Irwin and Bonds underwear.
