  1. Franz Galna's Estate, Andiol Empire Ikarr and Kharl had ridden out with Trebomir Galna to search for the princess. Franz had been curtly left behind at Galna's house, in the care of old Seimeta. "Not a chance, Whelp!" Ikarr had snapped when Franz begged to join them. That stung Franz deeply, for he believed he had earned the right to take part in rescuing the Ksingi princess. And now, instead of young Franz Landez, it would be someone like foul-smelling Ikarr who would find the princ

    Chapter 30

@RainbowPhoenixWI Thanks for the comment! Jolanda and Doptus thought they were being clever, but greed always comes at a high price. There’s always someone greater and more powerful out there. And there may still be more surprises ahead as the story continues😉
  3. I think the site works very well already, thank you for that.😊 As a writer, there’s really only one thing that has bothered me: the story description allows far too little text. The character limit runs out very quickly, and you can’t fit everything you’d like into it. But this is only a minor issue🙂

    Chapter 30

@akascrubber @drsawzall Thank you for the comments. Many characters will come to realize that they should be careful with their wishes. A hidden clue about Isendar Vargan’s fate lies in Chapter 28.🧐
  5. Lupus

    Chapter 30

@Seraph28 @chrstphrl Thank you both!🙂 I meant to show here that excessive greed and the pursuit of power usually backfire. Be patient😃 Such a group will gather at some point. But who will be present then remains to be seen.🤫 Often the problem with wicked people is that they are also arrogant and overestimate their own abilities. Jolanda may not necessarily be evil by nature, but she is her father’s spoiled little princess and has in a way become blind to her own supposed excellence.
  6. Jolanda It had been a couple of weeks since her first visit to Wryyt's cellar. What had happened there had changed Jolanda. It was as if some invisible force kept pulling her back to that cellar, to Wryyt and their torture devices. She longed to learn more: about serving the Darkness, about the mighty god Nemxerdor. Little Wryyt had proven an eager teacher. They guided Jolanda in performing the rites of worship properly and, in their strong accent peppered with Biyranthi words, told he

    Chapter 29

@akascrubber Only time will tell. It is true that Csilla has not given a particularly friendly impression of herself. On the other hand, little Ivas is present, and he is a kind‑hearted boy. In the next chapter, the story returns to Dimalos, to Jolanda.

    Chapter 29

@Seraph28 Good points! What awaits the teenagers in Vendum will be revealed later in this book. True, Mocvann is part of the Gravenhild dynasty. Fortunately, the story has airships, which make it possible to travel long distances quite quickly.😃

    Chapter 29

If you'd like to see the locations mentioned in the story, here is a link to the map:
  10. Josel It had been a couple of painfully slow days since the visit of the young boy with jug ears. During that time Josel had been restless, prickly as a thorn, and had grumbled at the Redeemers a bit too much. Naturally, that had earned him another whipping - though, thankfully, a gentler one than the last. With his backside still sore from the punishment and his mood darkened by the Redeemers, Josel had withdrawn with his friends to their room after lunch. It was some sort of holy day

    Paranormal Deep Dive 8

These Deep Dives are such a handy way to discover new and engaging stories to read. I hope you’ll keep making them.😊

    1-2 - A Simple Spell

Poor Ethan!🥺 Judging from the first two chapters, the story starts off in a truly captivating way. I’ll certainly keep reading.🙂
  13. Lupus

    Chapter 28

@RainbowPhoenixWI @Seraph28 @akascrubber Thanks for your comments! 🙂 Grounded! Doghouse! Not again!😂 Poor Zdain, and poor seers as well.☹️ Unfortunately, the plot demanded something like this. And we still haven’t gotten rid of Renn.🤭 From the writer’s perspective, the most fun part is when you get to weave together plot threads that have long remained separate. There will be more of that as the story approaches its climax. If I counted correctly, there are 8 chapters left in this third book. Since the story has at least five books, no major conclusion is coming yet—rather, the different characters’ storylines advance to a certain point, to continue later in the fourth book. That tower is an interesting matter. I can’t give answers at this stage, but perhaps you remember Franz’s dream in chapters 5 and 15 of the second book, which is also mentioned in chapter 10 of this third book...💀
  14. Zdain The Great Shoal was not nearly as barren as it had seemed back in the harbor. Kselg Timbercrack explained that all of the Misty Isles had been born from volcanic eruptions. Those had taken place thousands of years ago, and the dark lava rock was now hidden beneath a lush green mantle of vegetation. The island's growth was dominated by conifers, and Zdain admired the dark pine forests that spread across the slopes of the volcano, which now slumbered in deep repose. The summit was
  15. Lupus

    Chapter 27

A fitting description of Zdain. That is how I intentionally portrayed him at this stage of the series. However, there are other sides to Zdain as well. Good points. The next chapter may provide more answers to these questions.🧙‍♂️
  16. Lupus

    Chapter 27

@chrstphrl @Seraph28 Renn does everything he can to corrupt Zdain into his little plaything. Yet Zdain himself is not entirely innocent: being a horny teenager, he accepts his role all too willingly. Nevertheless, he does not seem happy. But there is still hope something better.
  17. Renn The Misty Isles, Grand Duchy of Malkania Seagulls shrieked and wheeled around the steamship plowing through the waves. Perhaps they mistook it for one of the fishing vessels that sailed the southern seas and hoped for a share of the catch. This time the birds would be disappointed, for the ship carried passengers instead of fish. One of them was Renn Tauganei, who stood on the deck beside the ship's rail, letting the brisk sea wind spray against his face. He had spent his life i

    Chapter 26

    Thanks! I try my best.🥰

    Chapter 26

@akascrubber Dareis and Elyssa hardly have the strength to resist the lipless stranger, at least based on what we’ve seen in this chapter. "When the time is ripe, I will come for you and your sons." — But for what purpose? That’s something to think about.🤔🤨
  20. Lupus

    Chapter 26

@Seraph28 Thank you😊 That is well judged.👍 The boys must take responsibility for their parents’ deeds, even though they were innocent of them. Dareis really is an asshole. Maybe it comes from himself, maybe from the fact that his father is the cold-hearted Cors. Or who knows, perhaps his mother was a nasty person too.😄 Elyssa is a complex character. She is fun to write, and in fact she is definitely one of my favorite characters.
  21. Elyssa After much coaxing, Dareis had finally agreed to play a round of checkers with Elyssa, and now they sat in the lounge of their hotel suite, the game board between them on the table. Checkers had been Elyssa's favorite game since her youth in Dundres, and despite Dareis' diligent practice, he had never become as skilled a player. The man lacked wits, Elyssa thought, smiling mockingly as she noticed Dareis had driven his pieces into a dead end with a series of blunders. Just a few
  22. Lupus

    Chapter 25

So, no doghouse for me this time?😄 I'm glad you enjoyed this plot twist. I hope I can surprise you again in the future. 🙂
  23. Lupus

    Chapter 25

@akascrubber @drsawzall Ivas’ grand plan may be grand only in his own mind.😅 On the other hand, small and cunning mice may sometimes surprise the big cats.😉 In the next couple of chapters, however, the focus will turn to other characters.
  24. Lupus

    Chapter 25

@Seraph28 @chrstphrl Thank you☺️ Ivas is indeed a sympathetic character, and it was fun to bring him into the story. Although writing from a child’s perspective is a bit more challenging than writing from an adult’s.
  25. Danae What a nerve! That had been Danae's dominant thought for the past few days. She, the heiress of the ducal house of Dannkas, had been unjustly imprisoned in the Holy House like a pet parrot in its cage. The Redeemers hadn't heeded threats or pleas. Her noble status had meant nothing to them, even though it should have guaranteed respectful treatment and immunity. Danae had been bossed around like a common maid, and to top it all off, she'd been locked up to await the final judgmen
