Anden Darkuria, years 1563–1591 of the New Era "Anden, what is this?" Eistaf Negos asked, pursing his lips at the package Anden Telon had nervously thrust before him with trembling hands. "It's your birthday today. I thought I'd mark the occasion… I made it myself," Anden said, already feeling the flush rise to his cheeks. Why did Eistaf always have to look so annoyingly handsome? "You managed to surprise me," Eistaf chuckled, beginning to peel away the wrapping with his long f

@akascrubber The Redeemers do indeed have their own religiously motivated goals. That probably doesn't bode well for our heroes, even if their lives aren't in immediate danger. That's what Renn definitely wants. But Zdain's motives will become clear later.

@RainbowPhoenixWI Oh no, I'm ending up in the doghouse again! 😉 And thank you, good thing I manage to surprise you. ☺️ Now that the series isn't even halfway through, Josel and Zdain can't resolve their differences or sworn their love for each other. So I wish the readers patience from here at the back of the doghouse.

😀Not too soon! Renn is still very important to the story's plot.😏
-
@akascrubber The situation does indeed look bad.😓The expedition was of great importance, but it was cut short before reaching the Misty Isles. The only faint hope is that Melgy is still out there somewhere.
-
@Seraph28 Unfortunately, this is what happened, and I was unable to save Marl.😢 Renn is indeed dangerous and evil—and now Zdain is alone with him. Bad omens are in the air. At this point, the plot demanded such events. True, no one is safe from the touch of the Darkness, not even our young heroes. 😄Oh, I'll probably need to get a defense attorney. I'm afraid it will be necessary.😁

Renn A shade commando never slept too deeply. That's why Renn Tauganei snapped awake in time to sense that something was off. Just a whisper of unease - but Renn was attuned to such things. He sat up on his bedroll and threw off the blanket. The lanterns still burned, casting pale light over the room. The others were asleep. Or so it seemed - one bedroll was empty. Marl Gaidok was gone. That had to mean something. Renn quickly pulled on his boots and checked that his pistol was tu

Yes, that's how I thought of it 🙂

@akascrubber @drsawzall In a way, yes—but can Rezak be blamed? How much of his later actions are truly his own fault, and how much stems from the Cors living inside him? At this point, when he agreed to Cors' scheme, he was still quite young and naive.
-
Well said. The lust for power and its consequences are among the central themes of the series. However, the pursuit of one's own goals takes different forms for each character, and sometimes the motives are quite innocent. Bartos's father turned to the darkest forces only because he wanted to win the woman he loved. Rezak, on the other hand, agreed to his actions simply because he respected his mentor Cors and wanted to please him.

Rezak Land of the Ksingis, Year 1570 of the New Era (22 years earlier) Snow had fallen heavily the previous night, and the path was mostly buried out of sight. Still, Rezak was certain they hadn't strayed. He didn't make mistakes - not after years of training under Cors' unforgiving eye. Mistakes weren't an option, especially now, when Cors might not have the strength to try again. The mountain trail twisted narrowly through the icy terrain. With each step, their feet sank deep into

Thank you! ☺️The final chapter was a really good ending to the story. It's a pity we only got to know Chandler so briefly.

Pretty pathetic effort from Neil's friends. None of them could even apologize. If I were Neil, I wouldn't hang out with people like that.😒 Gerry's comments to Alex were spot on. That's exactly how it goes—he can definitely find himself a boyfriend, and Alex doesn't need to do it for him.
-
Lucas is getting meaner all the time. It's hard to feel any sympathy for him. Just like Neil, I'm afraid something bad is going to happen soon.😬
-
The story is progressing really well. It's nice to see Neil doing better. Unlike what Neil probably hopes, I don't think Alex is interested in him—more likely in Sammy. Alex's little brother is still a mystery, but I believe we'll learn more about him later.🙂

I remember you don't like cliffhangers😄😄
-
Good questions. The answers... unfortunately, I can't give them just yet.😉 Josel has a lot to process emotionally, and he's not very good at that kind of inner reflection. Also this 'utter chaos' may bring surprises.
-
Thank you for your kind feedback. Josel still has some things to sort out in his own mind. Unfortunately, the situation is not easy, especially with Renn around😬
-
I thought a cliffhanger would fit well at the end of this chapter. Unfortunately, you'll have to wait two weeks for more details, since next week Rezak will be the narrator😄 There was definitely a good dose of teen angst here. Sometimes it's nice to have a bit of drama too, even though the main focus of the story is adventure. Questions are very welcome ❤️

Josel The day had been just as hot and muggy as the ones before. Even in the early evening, the heat lingered, promising a sweltering night. It was the perfect moment for a refreshing swim. Josel walked away from the campsite, a clean shirt slung over his shoulders and a bar of soap in hand. After a long day of riding, they had pitched their tents on a slope overgrown with tall grass, which gently descended toward a small grove and the lake beyond. Melgy had advised the teenagers

Yep! 😄 Heroes who are either too old or too young. How could such a group defeat the rising Darkness? 😬
-
Well said. A group of misfits indeed - drunks, tramps, and thieves 😂
-
Thank you for your comment🥰 Indeed, Franz is like his father in his restlessness. Franz's role in this story is slowly growing. Like the other boys, he has his own important role to play in the overall plot. I wish I could reveal more about the Sandkan family, but you'll have to wait a bit.🤫
-
Josel is the narrator in the next chapter. The atmosphere in that chapter is quite heated.🙃 More of the Sandkan family's secrets are revealed a little later on. 🤠

Franz "Dad!?" Franz Landez half-asked, half-shouted. "Franz?" the man uttered with a grunt, and then the two of them simply gawked at each other. It was impossible to come up with anything sensible to say - impossible to say anything at all. Masked Thief was a real person, and now standing before Franz was his own father, who was both Masked Thief and the supposedly dead Rummo Landez. None of it made sense. Nothing made sense anymore. But no matter how many times Franz blinke
