I can't thank you enough for your encouragement over the years. I underestimated how difficult it is trying to write something as you envision it, but it was worth getting to the end. There is no way this would have read half as smooth without the help of everyone I reached out to, and I lack the words to truly express my gratitude.

Thank you, Chris! Yes, that was always my personal goal for them.

Quite fitting for Cal. It was a struggle and I still have a lot to learn. But I'm glad it was well received. Thank you.

Chapter 12: Epilogue Five Years Later “Alright, everyone, listen closely!” Blake called out from the front of the minibus. “This isn’t our first rodeo in Helderlus, but it is the biggest group we’ve had in five years. Some of you are already literally itching. That’s not nerves, it’s your marking manifesting. As exciting as that is, that does not mean you’ll be rushing off on your own to hunt down your fated match! Have I made myself clear?” Though the younger dhampirs and vampire

This had me laughing so hard. 🤣 Looks like Nos found his way.

Thank you. They got there. Hopefully the epilogue will answer that.

Yes, that was as close to an apology as Orion could get. 😂 It's definitely a start. 😂

Chapter 11: Nos’s Gift Cal explained everything from the moment he received the photograph of Nos to the odd give-and-take he had with Andrea. Nos wished he had his phone with him to snap a photo of the shocked expressions on Luc and Sven’s faces when Cal recounted how Andrea had apologized to him directly, but he’d left it behind during the festival since Cal had his. The dhampir wondered whether Cal’s determination to reach Nos was what ultimately won her over. It was already the Hel

    I second this.

Writing for specific genres would be challenging and great practice. 🤔 Everyone has different strengths, and the hard part is figuring out themes that the most amount of authors could participate in... What about genre crossovers or thematic mash-ups?
  12. BendtedWreath
    Surprisingly, on both counts!

More on that soon. Andrea leaving the people in her life that actually wanted her in their lives was her way of pretending she no longer needed anyone, that if she continued to live as if they no longer existed, she wouldn't feel the sting of the pain whenever they do die. Brenda knows better. She's been trying to help pull Andrea back together.

Yes. Their markings are now a solid red. Nos realized that even though Andrea took Luc and Sven’s friendship for granted, they still care about each other enough to worry about one another. That's what Nos himself has to find out. 🤞

In that case, my goal was accomplished.

Chapter 10: A Mother's Shadow The lighting shifted abruptly, pain lancing through Nos's head. He blinked, disoriented, catching Brenda's remorseful gaze and his mother Andrea's imposing form. At least she was fully dressed this time. Moments ago, Cal's arms silenced Nos's doubts. Now, ripped away, their connection severed, he clenched his jaw. "Send me back. Now." His words were so commanding that Brenda instinctively stepped back. Andrea's eyes flashed; a warning, a challenge. Sh

    Pretty much. 🤣

She just plucked him right up out of nowhere.

Yes, what terrible timing. We'll find out what she wants soon.

Yes, Andrea had terrible timing. I never thought of it as retail therapy. 🤣

Chapter 9: Moonlight Glass Nos and Cal arrived at Hot Hooves, awed by the store's vastness. Footwear-filled shelves stretched into the distance. The escalators climbed to the second floor, and, in the center, cobblers bent over their workbenches, focused and busy. "My nephews!" Savvie greeted them as she approached and gave them both tight hugs. Her perfume lingered for a moment, reminding Nos of freesias. "If we order matching pairs, can they be ready for the Glass Moon Fest?" Ca

I figured that there had to be a few cultural differences, and he did miss out on some of the information that would have helped.
  24. BendtedWreath
This is true. And yet, still faster than Nos’s attempts. We can only hope he's starting to learn that.
  25. BendtedWreath
They are definitely trying to work it out. We'll find out what Nos chooses to do soon.
