  1. Sarah McLachlan "Sweet Surrender" Theory of a Deadman "Nothing Could Come Between Us" Disturbed "Guarded"
  2. The trick is to figure out what POV is most suitable for the story. The one I cannot seem to do very well is 3rd limited. If I go third, I'm all over the story's universe. With 1st person, the protagonist, at least in my story, is who I become. My emotions seem to change as the events unfold in my mind. With 3rd omniscient, I can be anywhere I want to be. I still have those characters who are most important, but peripheral characters will find themselves somehow getting mixed into the lives of the main character, or characters. The soap opera type of story is a whole lot of fun for me to write. Others find 3rd omniscient too demanding, but I like it. 3rd limited seems to be the only one I cannot do, although I am trying it for summer anthology.

Omg, that's disgusting. Seriously, I can't stand Paris Hilton, so associated cigs with her is enough to make them extremely unappealing.
  4. Amen to that! Yes, his stories are fantastic, but that does not mean that we cannot read other authors. There are some great stories to choose from! There are also great stories to write. I, for one, do not do the typical high school type of story. I have one with two gay high school students at the center, but there is so much else going on the story. I like creating universes with lots of stuff going on. I like to keep things interesting. Above all, I do not pigeonhole myself as an author. I like to read and write multiple genres, because I get bored otherwise!
  5. I really don't see how Dechaun being anything other than a mage is even possible with what we know about him so far. I think they're born that way, and only certain families have that trait. If I have missed something about someone being the first mage in his or her family, someone please let me know. It would be interesting to find out it is possible and why. Can it skip several generations? I know of another magical story in which that occasionally happens, although I do not believe it is mentioned specifically in the book. I think the author mentioned it in an interview. What I am wondering is if Colin can be trusted. I know the Dark path doesn't necessarily mean evil, but there's something off about him that makes me think he may be predispositioned to evil. Only time will tell though.
  6. Spice Girls "Viva Forever" Papa Roach "Infest"
  7. Well, that would be an interesting scenario. I never said it was a bad idea. BTW, It was very well done!
  8. I know you're capable of it. I just figured you wouldn't want to. I'm all for it though. That would be awesome actually! As for an extra long chapter, I love the idea. The longer the chapter is, the more I like it! Is it Tuesday yet? Damn... It's only Sunday.
  9. Now now, Mikie... there is no need for violence. I was simply saying to be careful. I watch out for my friends. I wouldn't want anything bad to happen.
  10. There are a lot of variations. I will say that there are certain scenarios that do seem to be overused. I like teen stories, but I'm afraid there might be too many of them. However, if someone comes up with unusual scenarios, it can still be good.
  11. I'm sure Kevvers is cute, but I have not seen an actual pic of him. As for the goat, I am not into the animal lovin' thing. Thanks for stopping by. I made this entry just for fun. I like to do stuff that's off-beat and humorous.
  12. Your snout is growing! Anyway, he is not Satan. He's actually nice. He's misunderstood. And you know you love him as much as the rest of us do!
  13. You must be thinking of That was really hot, but I doubt we'll have another one like that.
  14. It seems to me that you are doing this to be mean to the Shadowyone, and yet you call him evil? Oh well. I want to read both chapters.

    Smoking

I'm glad you were able to give up the habit. I was stubborn. It took me 10 years. That is a lot of cigarettes. I don't even want to know how many cigs I have smoked. It's literally thousands.
  16. I think you might have meant not. I honestly don't think I would be open to it at all. Maybe I could have a few years ago, but I've went through a transition. There's no way I would ever consider it now.
  17. I personally use the two spellings interchangably. I think it's a personal choice thing. It's the one word we seem to use that seems to be spelled two ways no matter where you are in the US. In fact, I didn't even remember which one was the British one and which one was the American one. Personally, I favour the British one for that word. I wish we would just adop the British spelling for all words except for words like realize. It should be the opposite for those. I think the Grey Path is the best of the three. I have always favoured those who are a little naughty yet a little nice. Traditional heroes are so 50 years ago. Batman has always been one of my favourite superheroes. That's what I love about this story. Jamie and Worthington are anti-heroes. It gives them more of an edge, one that I really like.
  18. I decided to post my opinions here, because I'm not sure if my level of outrage is allowed in the forum. Yes, I mean it. The Federal Communications Commission can kiss my ass. They are a bunch of fascist pigs who should not even exist. Everyone remembers a few years ago when Janet Jackson showed her boob on tv and the unnecessary outrage it caused. I'm more outraged by the outrage personally. In Europe, the outrage would be over the fact that she didn't do so 10-20 years earlier when her breasts would have still been perky. In the UK, they show everything but erect penises on tv. Why should we be any different? In an age when there is blood and gore everywhere, a penis is out of the question. Am I the only one who sees a problem here? I think it's such a crock. Don't even get me started on the radio. They bleep the word, ass. That's insane! There is not a child on this planet who hasn't heard that word. The only good thing the FCC does is regulate the products. Yes, radios and televisions should meet safety requirements, but censorship is terrible. Why would anyone want such a regulatory agency? I pay my freakin' taxes, and there are a lot of things that money should be used for, but it should not be for censor tv shows or songs on the radio!
  19. I would too. As time has passed, it has been a transition from more straight to somewhere around 90% gay, so there's no love there for women. They can scratch an itch, and that's all. At the same time, I understand that some people need reassignment. I would be there as a friend (at least after getting over everything).
  20. There have been some good points. However, you have missed one kind of ending, a specific type of open ending, one in which there needs to be a sequel. The type of ending I speak of is one with an evil cliffhanger. Think about Harry Potter books for example,
  21. Indeed we do look forward to it, although I may need to re-read the first 3 as a reminder.
  22. Judy Garland "Over the Rainbow" Chopin "Raindrops Prelude"
  23. Martin, I would like to wish you a very happy birthday!
  24. I love that song! KCi and JoJo "All My Life"
  25. I couldn't agree more. Now if Dom returns soon, I'll be a very happy Reader. Welcome back, Buddha!
