  1. I think it comes from the fact that many women who use make-up do powder their nose and do other cosmetic touch-ups in the bathroom. They also like to stand around and gossip in the process.
  2. Case-sensitivity is one of the things I constantly struggle with on OSes where case matters. I tend to keep everything in lower-case on those OSes and use underscores to separate words. I like Windows better for the reason that LetTheMusicPlay is easier for me to read than, let's say, let_the_music_play, as just one example.
  3. I wish the end of M&W had been beautiful. Instead it's left me with all sorts of weird emotions swirling around in my brain. Good luck on your mid-terms.
  4. I once caught my parents having sex. That's something no child should have to see. I think it fried parts of my brain. Damn them for not locking the door.
  5. Is there any reason why you can't initiate contact and seek the closure you need? I mean, even if it's via IM or something I'm sure it's got to be better than nothing at all.
  6. Nah, you're not old fashioned. You're just real. It's harder to fake things when you can hear the other person's voice. It's easier to make a connection with someone when you can talk to them. Even on the phone or via Skype if it can't be face-to-face.
  7. Thanks. I'm trying to break out of what I'm usually into. I'll listen to anything so long as it's good. For example, Kevvers turned me on to "Theory of a Deadman" and I really like both albums. That's something I never would have thought about listening to unless someone had recommended it to me. I guess you could say that apart from my classical collection I'm bored with the stuff I have which is mostly classic rock and country with a little electronic thrown in.
  8. Thanks. I'm a member of last.fm but I've never really spent much time there. I will now.
  9. He certainly does now!!!
  10. Thanks, Tim. With the exception of Manson could you recommend a specific album for each artist please?
  11. Today I'm grateful for concluding negotiations to sponsor yet another model car show on behalf of my model car website. This means five lucky juniors (13-16 & 16-20) will be awarded gift certificates ranging from US$20 to US$50 to Hobby Town for winning their classes in the automotive categories. One of our members has insisted on sponsoring a 20-25 year old class for the automotive category. My website only deals with plastic model cars, trucks and motorcycles and all three will be represented in this show/contest. It's just one way of making sure the kids have the money they need to buy kits and supplies. Plus I think it helps ensure the continuation of this wonderful hobby.
  12. As PC as the world, or at least the US, has become I doubt such a kit could even be sold today. Same thing with most science/chemistry sets. The kids would be labeled terrorists in the making.
  13. I agree. Let's work on Rose to fix me some snake when I go see her. She's doesn't wanna do that.
  14. I'm not one to listen to radio. There is nothing worth listening to on the radio stations here in Miami. I haven't found a decent online radio station yet. Plus I prefer to own the music I listen to. While I enjoy all types of music I am particularly lacking when it comes to non-mainstream artists of all genres who create music that plays upon the anger I often feel. Listening to that kind of music actually makes me feel more calm. With that in mind album suggestions are most welcome. Thanks in advance.
  15. I'm glad we cleared that up.
  16. You truly inspire a great deal of respect for you with me, Graeme. To recognize that you are gay, that you still love your wife, come out to her, and work through whatever issues had to come up as a result of that is absolutely amazing. I doubt I could be that strong. I'm sure it's given you a much happier and healthier life and relationship.
  17. It's all about what you are, or get, accustomed to Tim. I know lots of vegans who are much healthier than I am. It's just a mattter of getting the right mix of proteins and other stuff. But I'm with you... a day without a cheeseburger is like a day without sunshine; boring and depressing!
  18. Eww, TMI dude.
  19. That just makes me madder for me to think it would have been 33 years this year. I'm honestly very happy for the rest of you with really long-term relationships.
  20. Wow so far 100% see no problem with eating meat. The way I see it, if you want to be a vegan that's fine. We're all entitled to make our own personal choices. As for me, I enjoyed meat but I'm not about to go hunting. I want a certain level of detachment from the whole process.
  21. I prefer to IM when it goes on sporadically throughout the day with brief comments back and forth. Generally though I prefer to talk. If nothing else it's because I do so much typing as a software developer, webmaster, and charter member of the PPC, that my hands hurt all the time. So anything I can do to take a break from that is most welcomed. Skype is my preferred method of talking and videoconferencing with friends all over the world. For my best friends I prefer the plain old-fashioned telephone. Interesting poll, Kevvers. Thanks!
  22. That link is hilarious, CJ. Here, this should make you happy, and increase my PWing count!
  23. We kind of went overboard in an enthusiastic display of our affection for J/S.
  24. It might be fun to gang up on the Tiger and tickle him until he pees in his fur.
