    Chapter 36

Thank you so much! I think that a reader's feedback is just as important (if not moreso) than a peer review.

    Chapter 36

Will isn't really upset about Zach from a jealousy standpoint, he's upset because he can't be with Zach. This is Will being a lovesick teenager, with all the drama that comes with it. His deal with Devon is for some sexual anesthetic.

    Chapter 36

LMAO! I'm so glad that you're enjoying this, although your degree of obsession makes me think of Kathy Bates in that movie...Misery? Isn't that the one where she ties up the author and does kinky things to him? On second thought...that sounds kind of hot. ;-)

    Chapter 36

I figured that even if I wasn't willing to indulge in that drug that is patriotism, you all may want to. :-) I did some research, and all I could find in 2002, for clubs in Boystown (that looked interesting) were Manhole and Circuit.

    Chapter 36

I agree with you...I think that Brad was pretty dumb to take that approach with Will, but I'm going to cut him some slack, imagining that this whole thing had freaked him out. I don't know if Devon has any idea how old Will is. He knows Will is in the bar, and that means he has an ID that says he's 21.

    Chapter 36

Will and Matt have a natural camaraderie that works for them. For Brad, I don't think he is dodging this issue with Will because he thinks Will is immature, I think he's doing it to try and have some control over how it's handled and shared.

    Chapter 36

You're welcome! Will's under-aged escapades are interesting because while he's legally too immature to be having sex with Devon, he's mentally and emotionally fine with it. That's not my endorsement of under-age sex, rather it's my commentary that all boys/men develop differently, and at different rates.

    Chapter 36

Good point about Brad. I don't think it has anything to do with Brad protecting Will, I think Brad's actions are mostly about his desire to control things, including the dissemination of information.

    Chapter 36

July 31, 2002 Chicago, IL Matt We’d gotten into Chicago yesterday, and had been pretty burnt out. It had been a long day of travel, and it had been pretty stressful for both Will and me. Will had been a fucking mess after we’d dropped Zach off. He’d pretty much retreated back to the bedroom and locked himself away. For me, it was a combination of the whole deal with Wade, and my fears about Kevin and Cody. I hadn’t said anything to Will about that, because I didn’

    Chapter 14

Well, there are some issues to consider there. First of all, George may not be willing to listen to her. And she may not be willing to swallow her pride to do that.

    Chapter 14

That's the big problem...we don't really know what is in Caroline's mind, and we probably won't. At least not for a while.

    Chapter 14

Divorce was pretty much unthinkable for them. It would most likely require an act of Parliament, and the scandal would be huge.

    Chapter 14

I imagine that he sat there at dinner, calmly eating on the outside, fuming on the inside, until he finally could hold back no longer.

    Chapter 14

There really are two parts of their marriage: the emotional part of it and the property part of it. The emotional part is what is damaged, possibly beyond repair, but the property/ business part will remain. George and Caroline are linked by their children. That won't change.

    Chapter 14

    Thanks!
  17. Mark Arbour

    Chapter 14

Thanks Kevin. I think that you really hit on one of the important contexts of this whole issue: a power struggle between George and Caroline. It cannot be easy for a woman like Caroline, who is very influential, to not be entitled to some of the same perks/freedoms men get.

    Chapter 14

September 25, 1799 Portland Place Granger got back from Bridgemont House and shed his dress coat, then prepared to enjoy a relaxing meal before he went to the Palace. He had just sat down to dine when Cheevers entered. “My lord, Lord Frederick Cavendish is here, requesting to see you.” There was no mistaking the scorn buried beneath Cheevers’ smooth façade. It was flattering and annoying at the same time: flattering that the staff would be loyal to him and n

    Chapter 13

Thanks for the review! I think that it was rather easy for Granger to overlook Treadway's involvement. What really has George pissed off is Caroline's unwillingness to come forward with what happened, and to express any remorse or to even acknowledge that the tryst could be damaging to them.

    Chapter 13

You're probably right about the errant footman, but I wonder if George isn't secretly appreciative that this man let the secret out? It would seem that his indiscretion was the key to George finding out about the whole affair. In addition, I can't think that a witch-hunt among his servants would be in George's best interests, especially since the response from the rest of his staff may very well be to wall Winkler off, so he doesn't hear the good gossip.

    Chapter 35

Thanks Miles. I cannot believe that Robbie, if he had known AD was positive, would not have told Brad. They had problems in their relationship, usually revolving around their own insecurities and, as you noted, wanderlust, but honesty was rarely an issue.

    Chapter 35

Thanks for the review! I'm thinking that with the Cocktail around, Cody and Kevin will be able to lead relatively normal lives, but then again, who knows. (Not even I do, yet). I think Carl was manipulative and slightly evil. I don't see that with Alex. He's actually treated Wade and Matt quite well thus far.
  23. Mark Arbour

    Chapter 35

Thanks for the review. That old saying, "opposites attract," would seem to doom Wade and Alex, but I think that in this case, their similarities can really make their relationship special. Maybe not as passionate as some, but probably more liveable.
  24. Mark Arbour

    Chapter 35

Thanks Maarten! This story has been (as I've said) one that started out with some drama, was calm for a long time, and now it's picking up again. I'm not completely up to speed on HIV-AIDS conversion, but I will be. :-)
  25. Mark Arbour

    Chapter 35

Thanks for the great review. I agree with you as regards Cody and his prior record of safe sex. I think that it's unreasonable to think that Robbie and Jeanine's death would not have effected him, and it is entirely reasonable to think that he would have largely said "fuck it" and been more careless with sex in the wake of the 9.11 disasters.
