  1. September 6, 2000 Holmby Hills, CA Will Like an idiot, I’d forgotten that our schedules rotated every day, so that meant English wasn’t always my first class. I’m not sure what the benefit of that was; it just made me kind of disoriented. “I’ll pick you up today,” Pat said as we drove up to the school. “Dude, I’m sorry I was so fucking bitchy yesterday. If you want Michael to do it, I can live with that. That guy just bugs me.” He grinned, trying to stop from la
  2. People change. Maybe Zach will turn out to be a good guy.
  3. I understand what you're saying, but Gathan isn't at that point yet. He's in limbo. All he's got going right now is hockey, and that's clouded by his conflict with Matt. I think that your comment (underlined above) is closest to the truth. I don't think JJ was ever picked on, at least not extensively, what with Will and Darius as his brothers, but living in their shadow couldn't have been easy. I'm thinking "Jan" of the "Brady Bunch." I think that's why he's so obsessive about skating; this is finally something that he does better than anyone in his family, and probably better than most people on the planet. When I wrote the scene where JJ turned those guys in, I was thinking in terms of him lashing out not just at them, but at Will, and stating that he was going to take responsibility for himself. A cupcake explosion: interesting. Now that could be one fun scene to write.
  4. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
  5. Yeah, well back to real sports. Here's an interesting article on college football realignment. And a map showing the geographic dispersal of fans.
  6. My, how old you have grown. You don't remember how intense that first true-love relationship is, especially at the young age of 18? You know, the one where you do stupid shit you never thought you'd do? The one where your friends are looking at you and shaking their heads, but you're in love, so you just don't care what they think? Where the logic switch is completely shut down. Search your feelings. You can find that neurotic late-teenager in there somewhere.
  7. Alright, but is it just as easy for women to get gay men to fool around? Here's why I ask. Your argument implies that men are easy to seduce. Whether that's true or not, gay men should be just as susceptible to seduction by women as straight men are to seduction by men.
  8. I think there's a deeper thing there, an alpha male thing. Gathan comes in with this cocky attitude and that really frosts Matt, even though if he were being objective, he'd probably see the same characteristics himself. The problem Matt has with Gathan is that Gathan is a lot like him, and that says something about Matt's internal self-esteem.
  9. I understand what you're saying, but that's a different situation. The premise here is that this guy is straight (see topic title). My comment was on the hypocrisy of some gay guys. These are the guys who are adamant that they are gay and bristle at the suggestion that they can simply "conform" to a straight world. You know, kind of like it was since Greco-Roman times up until about 5-10 years ago. Yet these same guys will then talk about attracting a straight guy. So it's alright for a gay guy to be completely set in his sexuality, but a straight guy is always vulnerable to walking over to the other side. Right. That's either massive ignorance or narcissism....or both.
  10. September 5, 2000 Holmby Hills, CA Will “Dude, I’m so glad you’re here,” Jason said as we made our way to the cafeteria. We had the last class before lunch together. “Right,” I said, giving him shit. “You went here to try to get away from me.” “You’re stalking me,” he joked. “Trying to get into my pants.” “Not even. I like big dicks.” I was really glad he was here too. I’d only seen one other guy that I knew. I’d run into John Nakamura on my way to third h
  11. You know better than that. Who knows what I'll do? I sure as fuck don't.
  12. Another good one. You can just see this guy being kind of a dick. But he's still hot.

    Chapter 22

January 12, 1797 Don Jacobo Stuart strode confidently onto the quarterdeck, the spring in his step apparent to all. He was in a good mood, knowing that today would be the day he’d be released from captivity and would once again be able to set foot on his native soil. He noted that the Belvidera’s crew was at their stations in the curious way that they greeted every dawn. To Stuart, that seemed like a major annoyance, since rare it was at sea to encounter a hostile ship, and rarer still to en

Did you notice I can write "fuck" in review responses and it doesn't bleep it out? Wow. How terribly progressive of GA.

    Chapter 41

Thanks! The posting place will be slower, so don't get too excited. I like Wade too. I'm lining him up for a big role in the next story.
  22. I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter. I've got a few more in the works, but they may be a little slow in coming. That's not always a bad thing. A few comments: We don't know who fathered either baby, and we won't know until the next story starts. At least that's the plan. And we will see more of Ryan Grafton.
  23. Sorry I'm late to the thread/party. Happy birthday! You're awesome!
  24. I'll talk to students who are majoring in accounting, but they hate accounting. I ask them why they major in it, and they reply that it's because that's the best major to have to get a job. I point out to them that what good is getting a job if it's a job you hate? Follow your dreams, and don't be afraid of failure. Find a successful businessman, and you'll find a man who's failed at least once. If you don't take the risk, you'll end up stuck in a cubicle for the rest of your life. Ignore all the cautionary comments. There are always reasons NOT to take the chance. That's not to say you shouldn't have a plan, and a thorough plan at that. But once you figure out what you're going to do, go for it. Follow your dream.
  25. LOL. A serenade! I had a chapter I was working on and finished editing. It doesn't impact the parts I'm revising so I went ahead and posted it.
