“So what’s our plan?” Dad asked me. We’d gotten cleaned up, he and I, and we’d met everyone else by the pool where Darius was playing bartender. He handed me a drink.
I ignored my father for a minute. “Dude, this drink is fucking strong.”
“Pussy,” Darius said. I raised an eyebrow to challenge him, and he responded by going back to work at the bar, creating God knew what. I drank the strong drink in the meantime.

You should ponder that, in the preppy world, strange nicknames are the norm. From "The Preppy Handbook", here's the 12 most popular Prep nicknames for boys are: Skip, Chip, Kip, Trip, Bif, Bunny (only in high society), Bink, Van, Win, Wog, Rocky, Jock

The storms that had plagued them since they left Gibraltar appeared to be abating, even though the seas were still rough. Granger looked out at the large waves that rolled toward the English Channel, knowing that once they got there, they’d become smaller but choppier. “So why are we going to Hawaii?” I asked Will. He’d been really tight-lipped about this whole trip, which was unusual, and a little nerve-wracking.
“I’ll show you,” he said, surprising me. I figured he’d stall me like he had done for the past several days.
“I also will appreciate being enlightened,” Stef said, letting his annoyance show.

Section 8 housing in the Palo Alto Hills? I'm not seeing it.
It is convenient. So clearly Buzz is going to take a walk on the wild side, and his son will hook up with someone, probably Will. You keep on thinking that.
Things are looking good...finally. Thanks. You're right, still lots of questions.
Brad is extreme in pretty much everything he does, so it makes sense (to me) that when he's finally done with his grieving and pulls his head out of his ass, he'd do it pretty abruptly.

“Dude, we could have flown you back to LA,” I said to Zach as we drove up to the terminal.
“You guys fly me around enough. I can fly on a regular plane just fine,” he said. He was in an intense and bitchy mood. I decided that was probably because he was nervous about going back to school after all that had happened.
“It’s not a big deal,” I said. “Why do you have to go back early? I thought you wer
To me, that is probably Will's most important quality, and that stems from my own biases. I really dislike people who cannot admit to their own mistakes, and I despise those who blame their own mistakes on others.
I'm not sure whether JJ is done with skating or not, but regardless it has given him a desperately needed ego boost. He's been successful, phenomenally successful, so even if things don't work out in other walks of his life, he can hang his hat on that. Like so many skaters have. ;-)
