Granger’s eyes met Calvert’s, but that connection only sent his insides boiling. He floundered only briefly in the presence of this man that he loved, or at least he had, and summoned every ounce of reserve to act as if his former lover was not here to take control of his ship. Granger smiled, a fake gesture, one that got a nervous grin from Calvert in return, and just seeing that facial expression reminded Granger of the playful man and pas
Sometimes the set up can be tedious, so I'm trying not to belabor things too much.
It says a lot about how well Will knows Zach that he's figured this out...or at least he thinks he has.

“We’ll get you back to Malibu and get you all settled in,” Clara said to her favorite son in a doting way. The limo whisked us north on the PCH, even as she continued to cluck over Zach like the mother hen that she was. She’d flown out here yesterday to make sure he was alright and to take care of him, but that had been a major pain in the ass for me. It was impossible to talk to Zach when she was around, and she was always around. But in
I don't know. I don't think they have. I try to work to a standard length (about 4500 words), but sometimes I'll go over that, and then the next chapter will seem shorter.
Thanks so much for the review, Rachel! I think that if I've muddied the waters this much, and made you think about the possibilities like this, I'm doing my job. ;-)
Actually, Zach did agree to be done with this thing when he met with JP, Will, et al. in New York, but I'm not sure if that was considered a binding agreement by anyone.
I think that when we saw Wade handle things so badly with Will, we were seeing how upset Wade was by this whole thing. He's pretty protective of Trevor, so it makes sense that he'd be pretty pissed that Trevor was beaten up so badly. That probably caused Wade to lose, temporarily, his vaunted stoicism.
I don't think Elizabeth Danfield would plot against Trevor, since at this point, he's basically her stooge. I think she'd actually work to defend him, as long as it didn't cause her any problems.
Thanks...I did take the weekend off, and actually spent a few days in LA. It was nice.
You're right, of course, about the direct flights. I thought about that, and the tags would have shown either CHO as his first final destination (if he'd left them on after that flight by mistake) or LAX on the second flight. But then again, based on the changes in luggage handling over the years, it's plausible.

“So what’s our plan?” Dad asked me. We’d gotten cleaned up, he and I, and we’d met everyone else by the pool where Darius was playing bartender. He handed me a drink.
I ignored my father for a minute. “Dude, this drink is fucking strong.”
“Pussy,” Darius said. I raised an eyebrow to challenge him, and he responded by going back to work at the bar, creating God knew what. I drank the strong drink in the meantime.

You should ponder that, in the preppy world, strange nicknames are the norm. From "The Preppy Handbook", here's the 12 most popular Prep nicknames for boys are: Skip, Chip, Kip, Trip, Bif, Bunny (only in high society), Bink, Van, Win, Wog, Rocky, Jock
