I think JJ is a lot more cutthroat than Will or Matt. He can be warm and engaged, but once that switch is turned off, it's off. That's where the whole grudge thing comes in.
Thanks for the review.
I think it's fun to bring back characters we've met but may have forgotten (or not). I think that Will was a really good influence on Ryan in the past...hopefully that works now too.
You did a nice job of calling the bar deal in the forums. This was an interesting way to contrast Will to Brad or Stef, who would have been more mercenary about it.
Great review as always. You know, Jeff seems like one of those sprint and drift kind of guys, where he'll jump into something impulsively, then calm down about it. After he met Scott, I'm guessing he took some time to digest that, and to decide whether to go further.
As Private Tim noted in the forums, at this level of wealth, Will can afford the luxury of a toy investment. He is very different both Brad and Stef in how he views business.

It was nice that this apartment had a separate entrance. I paid the driver, grabbed my bag, and entered the key code that opened the door. That code also brought the elevator, one that whisked me up to the top floor as soon as I’d swiped my key card. On the way, I could hear the loud music from the bar, Spartacus, reverberating through the elevator shaft. I chuckled as I thought about that, and my slutty sense of humor, where it was funny t
Thanks! I think it's interesting how happy JJ is to leave dealing with Brad to Will. It's almost like he's willing to do his part, but he'll follow Will's lead on the thing.
I have been away from California and from surfing for too damn long, but fortunately, when I was writing Paternity, you reminded me about the early hours surfers keep. And you probably remember how Will called Kai early in the morning when he was on his way to Hawaii, noting that he'd be up to catch the waves anyway. However, as I look at this chapter, there was no surfing involved (nor has there been, unfortunately for Will), so I would submit that Will has devolved into a standard teen schedule (SMILE).
I'm not sure JJ is genuine enough to appreciate the genuine.
I think that Will's plans will end up surprising everyone, even Sharon. :-)
I think JJ could do a makeover of Carullo's wardrobe, but the man himself would be tougher to recraft.
Thanks for the review! I'm trying to stick to a weekly schedule, but I got far enough ahead that I threw caution to the wind. Remember this if I run out of chapters down the road (LOL).
One of the things that makes this story interesting (IMHO) is that there are a lot of threads, and it's sometimes a surprise to everyone (especially me) how they ultimately end up winding themselves together.
I think that JJ has the ability to be a real hardass, and he's one of those guys who, when he's been wronged (like he has with Alex), he can move on pretty quickly. Or maybe he just shows his anguish with his diva behavior. ;-)

I got out of the car, barely able to hide how pissed off I was, but I managed to do it. My family was always giving me shit for making scenes, but I was pretty good with strangers, and to me, this John Carullo dude was a stranger. I’d explain life to Will later, but I’d do my best to be polite to this muscle-head in the mean time.
We walked up to the restaurant and I wanted to moan, but I didn’t. It was your typical, kitschy Italian place, wi
