You don't need a boyfriend, but it just makes some people's nights less lonely. Actually, it's less about the sex and more about the companionship than anything else. Friends are great, but finding people, who can share your dreams and hopes, give a special kind of feeling. I don't know how to describe in words other than it's like a part of you is now full.

Well, a couple things were brought up, when we were talking about future kids and how we look at religion. He really wants them to brought up Jewish, Hebrew school and jewish parochial schooling. I was open to the idea as I think parochial schools would be good, Massachusetts Catholic schools are very open and several pretty inclusive of gay parents, so maybe jewish schools were the same. Then, we approached the subject of charity work and how we view things. I think charity should strive to make people's lives better through education and insight, not merely direct hand outs. He thought it was more about alleviating the current suffering of the people. we talked about the stupid fish story (You know give a man a fish and he will eat for a day, teach a man to fish and you will feed him a lifetime). Then, we got back into discussing we volunteer with different groups, he's helping people with direct donations and soup kitchen work; I help people by teaching them how to manage their money and tax preparation. I do have one time of year that I do give directly, around November to December for Christmas to different organizations giving kids toys, because their families are too poor to afford presents. I feel that kids should be given that happy christmas morning. He's not really big on the whole Christmas giving thing due to religious reasons and I don't know, it made me feel uneasy as to his view on Christmas. That's basically a summary of one of our conversations, we talk about everything and branch off into a lot of wild tangents.

Well, let's start at the beginning, first there was darkness, then there was light..... I am dating again and this time, it feels like a keeper. Politically, we're closer to each other than anyone else before in either of our lives. We're both insufferable intellectuals with a keen eye on debates. I have never been so attracted to another man as I have with him; it is like we complete each other. Okay, here's a few things thought I know and noticed between us: 1. He's really big on his Judaism, which I am fine with, but something inside me feels kind of strange. I know the stories in the old testament, but there's a lot of stuff I don't know about Jewish faith. 2. For those of you into Astrology, I am on the Western Zodiac a Cancer and he's a Aquarius, nearly polar opposite. For the Chinese birth animal, I am a full Fire Rabbit with June 24th 1987 as my birth date and he's a tail end Monkey or a head Rooster with February 7th 1981 (He's pretty cocky too ). Both are astrologically parallel signs in western and eastern scopes, but I feel such a strong attraction to him. I should not have been curious about that stuff, ugh, now I'm worries even more. 3. Neither of us like to lose or feel like we lose. I know that's a bad thing, but it's what makes us so complementary with each other. We make a perfect stalemate. Well, I hope this works out. Now for my readers, if there any of you guys remaining, who probably have given up by now after so many months of waiting for my stories. I don't know what happened either. I started finishing the next week of Exodus, then lost the file due to a computer virus and tried to restart after a reformatting, but just haven't been able to get it to where I remember it was. I will fix it one way or another, but I will make sure you guys are amused at my other stories being sent to both GA and my Author page this weekend.

I'm not talking about the traveled path between Christians and gays. We've probably discussed that ad nauseum on GA in the past few years. I am currently dating a Jewish guy, who I absolutely adore and we both feel a strong connection with each other. He's a moderate Republican, who is worlds less conservative than me on a lot of issues We have really long conversations over everything from tax theory (he's also a tax manager, which is perfect for me the tax specialist) to how we should raise our future kids (I know, it's kind of odd to both of us that we are going that far so quickly but it was instant intellectual attraction). Now, I feel kind of strange, when we talk about Judaism and his religious side. He's a reformed Jew, so homosexuality is okay with his temple, but he also has pretty strong beliefs on the tenets of his faith. I can understand his strong beliefs and even encourage it, but part of me feels like I'm travelling through an alien world. I'm more aligned with Christianity, but on religion, I am much more spiritual than an advocate of any single religion. I don't know how to work out this butterfly in my stomache over the Jewish religion stuff as it's something completely new to me. I've known plenty of Asians that date and marry Jewish people, but none of them are gay. Can someone on here give me some pointers, ideas, and perhaps inspiration on how I can get this un-comfort out of my mind, because I seriously love this guy on so many levels and I feel like he feels the same way too. Also, please don't debate the merits of religion on this topic, we have threads in the Soapbox for that. I am looking for help rather than a debate; I get enough of those with him

Probably, he will either fade out or go into TV like Luke Perry and get his shot to fame as the eternal teenager (God, how long did that last? or has it ever ended?)

We all have our taste, I suppose someone must appreciate Shamalyan style of movie making. If they do a sequel, I would suggest replacing M. Night Shamalyan as I think he is completely burnt out from Hollywood. He can be an inventive writer and producer, if he just get some rest. I really liked "the Devil", which was another one of his recent movies; it was high concept, too. Personally, I think a re-launch movie would be more appropriate with a whole new set of actors and actresses. I thought this could have been crafted much better and integrated better. Here's my Fan boy section: If I were the new producer, I would do the following: 1. Use live location shots, probably New Zealand like they did with Lord of the Ring Trilogy. 2. Include a stronger opener, like, for me, showing the death of "Avatar Roku" in the volcano as Fire Lord Sozin (great-grandfather of Prince Zuko) leaves him to die and claim his "destiny" to conquer the world through fire. (It was shown on the show and I think it would make a logical opener) 3. a. The first movie should go to the end of Book 1: Water, showing the victory against the fire kingdoms invasion force. I would play the battle up more like a Star Wars episode IV moment with the death star blowing up. b. The sequel should include the fall of Ba Seng Se and the failed invasion of the Fire Kingdom, where the heroes have lost complete hope and the Avatar has lost most of his powers. (Makes it very dramatic for the ending, The resistance seems to have failed and our heroes are powerless) c. The last part of the trilogy will show the final battle of liberation with the White Lotus Secret Society preparing a counter offensive that has been hinted at throughout the trilogy (Yes, I know the plot hole on why they didn't join in with the major forces in the sequel, but on the show, they were slowly gathering methodically for open conflict rather than attacking in one strike) and an apocalyptic battle between Aang and Ozai, now the Phoenix king. I don't know, but that would be more of a movie people would pay money to watch.

Don't get me wrong, I love the cartoon on Nickelodeon. It "bended" traditional elemental concept of Asian philosophy into a medium that many people can understand without the complex metaphysical and philosophical issues involved. The characters were more representative of the human nature that each element fundamentally represented in Asian spiritual metaphysics. The movie on the other was a complete and utter disaster, which won a majority of the Razzies this year, the award for worst movies in each category. M. Night Shamaylan is getting worse and worse with each movie; his stories are one dimensional, unrealistic, un-emotive, and non-provocative like watching paint dry with different lighting and angles. The adapting writer basically betrayed the notion of the cartoon series for cheap simple story telling with effects and too many misused scenes. I also learned a neat, if humorous aspect to the title for British Audiences, "bender" in British English has a double meaning for homosexual males. It is quite funny (Wonder how many people have gutter brains over the pond, too).

Poor River, we'll always have Idaho with Keannu picking him up and confessing his love at the end, tho. (It was very romantic and tragic) Justin Bieber looks better and he's not that bad, annoying yes, but not as bad as the Jonas Brothers or Miley Cyrus (cringe). Hey maybe he will be the one in a million non-tainted hollywood kid stars without 20 kilos of blow in his trunk.

Close enough to my psychology. Let's see if you want to label me: I am blind, Asian, gay, and conservative. All four carry stigmas with different areas. I am good in math, but I use my profession to mask it. I have a cane, but I usually don't use it as I can see out of one eye and hate using the thing. I donate to gay charities, but don't participate in parades or other stuff. I still have strong ties to conservative friends, but I don't tell everyone my political views in real life. I guess a combination of the four has made me a man that strives and fight to achieve something in my life. I don't want to be looked down upon for my weaknesses or treated differently due to my thoughts. Perhaps, fundamentally, labels have power over you either as a positive or negative influence based on each person. At least that is how I have come to see it.

Quick question, What would be classical and what's Romantic among the greats? I know Beethoven and Tchaikovsky well enough to know they kind of switched over to Romanticism later in their career. Mozart is predominantly classical; he has some emotional moments in his work, but I don't remember if he had a romantic piece. Tiger, any idea?

You might enjoy this rendition of Moonlight Sonata by Ludwig Von Beethoven. He was an amazing musical composer, who went beyond the realms of literal music and transcended sound. There's something to be said of Beethoven's ability to write music and listen to it even if he could no longer hear it. My favorite classical composer by far due to his genius and ability to go beyond the realm of functional music.

West, You will find that someone; sad it's probably not me though as I have a horrible taste in fashion (think stereotypical office from Monday to Friday, then T-shirts and jeans for the weekend) As for me, I'm looking for someone that can engage me into a cause. I am knowledgeable about numerous subjects, but I have never actually used them in anything more than papers or a few heated debates. The guy would probably need to be a friend and companion to me as well as a lover, because I believe everyone needs a confidante and cheerleader at different times in their lives. It's a two way street of mutual support and caring; not just sex and lust. As for travel, I have my fear of heights, but love of flying (it's some kind of vertigo). I like to explore new places and go on fantastic trips, whether it's to a beach resort or a ski lodge or some foreign country. For me, exploration of the unknown and embracing the realities of the world is what makes things fun. I've been to New York dozens of times, but I've gone to all the boroughs including the bad parts of Brooklyn and Manhattan as I have relatives there. Detroit was kind of a drag for me, but I like history of the city despite the depressing things I saw. When I went to New Orleans recently, I got into a potentially nasty situation. I went into one of the famous old fashioned candy shops of the city and the woman, who handled the cash registrar immediately asked me, "What are you looking for?" as if I was an unwanted visitor. True, I was not dressed nearly as well as I should with T-shirt and jeans as most people in that area of town were wearing my traditional dress shirt and khaki ensemble. I merely said I wanted chocolates and she told me the prices for the basic milk chocolates. Well, most people would probably have left her shop and wrote it off as a bad place, but I instead picked out the chocolates that she didn't tell me about as they looked better. I bought nearly her entire reserve of truffles and rum made chocolates that came to about $700. The chocolates were delicious and I shared it with my office and family. I stand by my sense of fairness; I don't like being looked down upon nor underestimated. I would spend a fortune to defend my belief in fairness if I had the fortune to spend on it. I know the realities of situations, but I will not let that impede me. The best word to summarize my outlook on life is be realistic, but the best word to describe my mental frame for life is always dream for more.

Let's see the superbowl was exciting and the Packers won! (Not every person will care about football, but it was an amazing game). The game was dynamic with the first few minutes showing why football can change in moments. The interceptions and turnovers killed Steelers, who I am not shedding any tears for. Yes, I hate Steelers sorry. It's just how arrogant their fans can get about their superbowl record, which is one of the highest in the league. I favor the Packers more for their team and fundamentals. I am also a Patriot fan as well and am proud Brady got the league MVP, too. It was the first time I have watched Glee after the 1st season, so I will be honest, I am kind of impressed. The music was fun and interesting; it made plenty of good jokes and the absurd settings seem fitting for the comedy. I have tried to avoid the show due to the 1st season, but I don't know maybe my taste have changed and I am getting more into the show.

As for the US, I think it was Sinclair Lewis who said it best: "When Facism comes to America, it will be wrapped in a Flag and carrying a cross." The US is not beyond such issues, all it takes are just the right things. For example, The cost of bread has gone up about 25% recently, which is bad, but people are not at the point of starving yet. When we have bread at 200% the current price, then you will see an issue. One of the first rules of governing people is simply do not let the masses be idle or starve; well we have 10-12% unemployment and more than 20% underemployment in reality, so a food scare is just the final straw. Egyptian woes only began to get out of control due to rising cost of food and unemployment rates. Hate Obama as much as some of us will, but there's a logic to certain social programs in the US. It is not merely a safety net for the less fortunate; it is also the first line of internal defense against anarchy. The peoples within any nation beyond high principle and concept want to work and eat; if you can't satisfy those two basic needs, then you are doomed. We can say they are greedy and selfish for wanting some of this stuff, but honestly, who would not want money and food when faced with no other alternative. In the US, right now, we don't have enough jobs for everyone and many are living on government checks. The slightest reduction or variable could push the balance off and drive the millions of unemployed into open revolt.
