  1. After seeing it, I kind of thought there were some hidden psychological meanings within the film. The entire movie is built around a psychological concept called a catharsis, which is a strong expressive moment of personal reflection. However, there's also some hints in there about certain other psychological double meanings, like the wife dying, the kids, and the old father figure.
  2. Happy Birthday :great:
  3. Mighty Max was cool and educational. A kid, who has a magic cap that took him everywhere even across time and space. It also had an occult backgrounds like the Lemurians (Talking chickens was a good cover ), which I have only heard about as a pseudo-scientific/paranormal civilization, it's kind of like Atlantis, but much rarer due to conspiracy theories. I also enjoyed the magic school bus as a kid.

    Updates on life

I entered into a self imposed depressive time in my life, I don't blame him for leaving me. He did nothing wrong.
  5. Let's see here's what happen in the time I was absent from GA: First the bad: 1. Lost my old job as a consultant due to corporate re-organization. 2. Lost my boyfriend due to lack of communications after I lost my old job. I went into isolation and he left me. 3. Stopped writing all my stories due to depression. Good things: 1. Got a new, better job as the head of Accounting of a Health Management Firm directly under the CFO. Basically, overseeing several different community health centers and working with patients, vendors, and insurers. It's pretty exciting. 2. Am looking for a new boyfriend, who will stand by me during my saddest times. 3. Starting to write again, but I don't have much time or the old heart to write all my stories, so I will concentrate solely on Exodus for the time being.
  6. The biggest problem with Objectivism comes from the concept of "I" or individuality. If you take the "individual" human being concept too far, you will have a guy living in the woods somewhere completely alone. Yes, the individual can "survive" the world, but progress and civilization will be lost. In Ayn's counter against collectivism, she created a model of belief that far too many trusted without questioning the outcome. While collectivism is to Communism; Individualism is to Anarchism. @James: I am a classic conservative, I feel that Ayn Rand ushered in a corrupting virus within the field of conservatism, which the anti-commune conservatives decades ago never understood or saw. Today's conservatives are closer to Anarchist than they are to principles or values in human logic and potential. In human Civilization, we, as a species, have to work together for common goals. It's less collectivism and more on the concept of entanglement. We need to work on the concept of inter-independence rather than pure independence.
  7. I've read it several times, but I am not an objectivist. Fountainhead is a good novel nonetheless, it asks unique questions on the concept of creativity and aesthetics. Aesthetics is a cornerstone to Rand's Objectivism, which redraws the line of philosophical truth to make the individuality unique. Though, basing a life on aesthetics is kind of sad as only you can enjoy such a reality, while the universe around you is truncated on principles of entanglement. Entangling truths and thoughts make any joy derived from such objective pursuits shortlived.
  8. Well, I hope you have a Happy Birthday Sky:

  11. The food play is interesting suggestion, but I don't know if making him my sundae will be fun or scary (He doesn't trim his area as much as I'd like) I've thought of Cos play aka Roleplay and it might help; he's into theatre and I use to do small parts, so we might try it out. Our conversations are great, but I wish sex could be more integrated. Have any of you guys or girls ever approach this stage of a relationship where you find sex getting boring?
  12. It just seems like sex is getting boring for me. I know he's not bored with what we're doing, but he was a virgin before we got together, so I guess it might just be the thrill I am bringing. I really enjoy our conversations and debates over everything from politics to movies to music. I really like the conversations as they keep changing and topics are so fluid. I wish sex was the same. Maybe I just have too high a libido or something, but I really want to change up our sex life. I have tried to ask him about alternative sex, but he seemed kind of lukewarm to the idea. He doesn't want to try bondage, which I can understand; though, I won't lie being a top turns me on. We both find leather to be too skin tight and also kind of sweat inducing. Neither of us have any fetishes to fur, feet, or any other things/parts. We're still too early in our relationship to try a threesome. Any advise guys or techniques to spice up our sex lives?
  13. Happy Birthday Skyline Hope you enjoy Lacey's sexy gift
  14. My sister has commented that my current boyfriend seems to make me a nicer guy and a bit less confrontational than I usually am with her. I don't know, maybe I am going soft. I've had other relationships with other guys, but very few affected me emotionally. Any of you guys ever felt like having a significant other might be affecting or changing you? A relationship doesn't solve all your problems, nor affect your life as a whole, but emotionally, it does seem like they do affect you.
  15. It's been too long since I have blogged. It has been a hectic few months with my creative energies directed towards work rather than my craft. On the writing front: Worlds of Difference is overdue for an update, Exodus has its outline ready though I need to compress my chapters down further, and A Dog's Tale is different than what I usually write. My other stories are on hiatus more or less unless there is demand for their return. On a personal level: I am an intellectual; a person who imbues thought and intellect that stretches through different disciplines and ideas. I am also a practiced human beings; a person who is focused on my expertise and can create or destroy within fix parameters. Intellectual, practical, and philosophical realities make me a thinker, but it is also a dispassionate pursuit. I am truly grateful to have found a lover that can match my thoughts with equal emotional energy. I don't know if we will last, but I am happy to have found a companion, who's opposition complete me. On the the professional level: My firm went through restructuring and I was let go. It is fine as I had anticipated such a move for months. I was running my own private tax advisory business concurrently, so I am not bored or my talents being made dull. Yet, I am stuck in my own professional rut without a purpose. Most people don't understand this about me, but I want purpose as much as I want success, a goal to strive for.
  16. I've had Grindr on my Ipod Touch for a year now, it's not that new As always, safety should be your first concern. If the guy is strange, I'd block him. If he's a good conversationalist, then why not ask him out for a coffee. Good gay friends are harder to come by than good straight friends; partners are even more harder. There are malicious people out there, but if they are actively hunting gay guys on any social site or even here on GA, they will eventually find someone. If it is that 1 in thousand intimidation factor scaring you from making mobile friends and connections with others, remember fear is best weapon anyone can ever have against you. Whether by action or inaction, don't fear the outcome and live as you would. On a side note, Manhunt is the worst of the websites mentioned for gay guys based on personal experience, long story about a 50 year old guy during my first year after I began exploring . Craigslist has a bad reputation, which 90% of it is deserved, but 10% are actually people looking for friends and good relationships. I've met a few friends from Craigslist, so I'm not that anti-Craigslist.
  17. You know Lexington is gay, he just doesn't know it Based on Greg Weissman's material for Gargoyles, I wonder if he had a relationship with Alex Xanatos (David Xanatos' son) in the future. Would you have believed that this made by Disney, knowing their current production lines?
  18. Start from the pilot to the 2nd season finale. You will get why you liked it and why you might still like it.
  19. Oddly enough Bronx gets more screen time than most of the cast except Goliath and Elisa. I'm watching their world tour right now in season 2, but the penultimate episodes are the season 2, 4 parter "city of stone" and 3 part "Avalon".
  20. Well, it's better than Janeway as a fairy queen.
  21. My recent bout with Shakespearean re-interpretation came from the cartoon series that I just found again. It's perhaps the only American cartoon, the only Disney made series, which has complex themes and intricate plots with a basis on Shakespearean material. The character of MacBeth is perhaps my favorite anti-villain. He is closer to the historical MacBeth in his behavior as a noble king rather than a power hungry despot, but the background is from the play. He is a villain damned by his own immortality, which has stripped him of his human qualities. Anyone remember the cartoon? Here's the link to the series, I advise watching season 1 and 2, but not season 3, which sucks. Gargoyles Series
  22. I try my hand at cooking, when I feel like it: Let's see tonight, Top Sirloin with curry mayonnaise reduction sauce of roasted onions and peppers. Some stir fried Chinese Asparagus with oyster sauce. Finally, a little jasmine rice with a hint of chicken flavor from the Chicken bullion I placed in the water base. I try to avoid cooking, because my style leaves a lot of things to clean.
  23. Drum roll........... It's the year of the Tiger: Have a good one to all you tigers on the site.
  24. Here's another little note and first in science fiction: A gay gangster/assassin as the main character. Even on a website full of gay writers, I haven't read such a character before in science fiction with the edge and interesting subtlety in Caprica. If you missed the latest episode, I really advise it. Sam Adama might not be a role model, but it is about time that people get to see fictional gay characters with a bit of edge.
  25. Maybe, I am more use to improvisation of strategies, cuz of the Patriots. When we had our Def and OFF coordinators, the pats kept changing up. We weren't a one pony show like the Colts (ironic horse pun ). I mean comon, they needed change their strategies; the offensive coordinator should have worked through the Saints defense by doing more runs than they did. It's an issue with the colts offensive strategy, they don't keep enough mix offense. The Saints were amazing in how they controlled the ball without a doubt. Also, their drives were impressive and had a good blend of running and throwing. Yes, they did not have the huge Manning-esque deep throws towards the endzone, but it's what football really should be. Drew should be celebrating merrily, he and his TEAM deserves it. As I said James, I don't like Manning or his style of football.
