    Gay films

Yup, why does everyone forget this movie? My Private Idaho was a tour de force. All the Movie Critics still praise it, but people seem to forget about it. The themes were built on Shakespeare's Henry IV and the gay love interest was heart wrenching. It made Brokeback Mountain's expansive mountain scenery pale in comparison to the expansive mid-western fields and empty houses of symbolism with the empty expanse of human existence. I don't know why I am remember the sad gay themed American movies, but here is another I did not see on our lists: American Beauty It wasn't all gay themed, but the subtexts were there and it was so sad on many levels about the nature of staying in the closet.

Hey I just feel bad for River Phoenix getting dumped like that for an Italian bitch. Keannu don't leave the rainbow!!!! Take the Pink Pill
  3. Well, I am a slightly overweight sarcastic orange cat with a pointed sense of humor. Seriously, I like satire and I like the line Garfield makes. It embodies on its surface the idea of objectivity, but underneath it, there is the belief of "Ergo Cognito sum". I like multi-layered ideas and cakes.

    Gay films

Here's a controversial movie, which I get the artistic idea for, but there is something nagging me with time. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0102494/ Not exactly a gay film for the crowd; every time you watch it, you see something more about the characters. Part of me feels for Mike, who is very screwed up, but there is something both imprisoning and releasing in his final place within the story. Scott on the other hand seems to be going in reverse; I know it was made in 1991, if it was made in 2008 these two guys would end up together and say f**k the world. Yet, there is something to be said about his choices in life and the path he chose to abandon Mike as i watch it now seems almost too tragic. The movie star River Phoenix as Mike, the gay hustler, and his friend Keannu Reeves as Scott, another Hustler on a road trip to define their lives. There is something within this story that speaks to me about desire, hopes, and the road we travel may never lead us to the place we thought we'd end up. On a side note, I am not sure if Scott will ever truly be happy with his choices in life; it is never revealed, but I get the feeling that the road he chose will probable end up over a cliff, unless the mysterious ending is what I hope it should be with a reconciliation based on love. Anyone else remember this movie?
  5. Detailed body structure, wonder if it means they might have anatomically adjustable sims. (Sim Enzyte anyone, it's all naturally artificial) I hope he also patches Sims 3 with his new SimCity like he did with the original Sims; cuz Sim Society for me sucked. I hope Will Wright will develop a new Spores one day; I like the idea of being God way too much and evolving my own variation of intelligent life is awesome. Evolving species, building societies, constructing cities, dominating the world through military force, and then take over the Universe; the guy thinks big.
  6. Just tell your mum, it's a learning game. Where else can a kid learn how to collect life insurance from a dead child? I agree that sometimes we do things in Sims that might be evil in real life.
  7. Hmm...wonder if that gay sim is flirting with the neighbor with a wife and kids. I smell "American Beauty" drama! I think the game is nearly limitless in how fun it can be. You need to try certain things to change it up a bit; maybe add university and nightlife to have some fun. Also get your sims out on dates or even drive somewhere with them.
  8. Hey no criticizing "Wohoos", hehe! You could always try to bring them back; though they might turn into zombies. I love magic. I heard somewhere that they might introduce more diseases into the next version of Sims, not just colds. I hope sims will not get STD's, but that might drop down "Wohoos". Teen sims remember to wear protection. Seriously, Will Wright is a genius for thinking up this franchise. It's so addictive to mess around with their lives, but also helping them out by giving them little bonuses or some fun activities. Which expansion packs do you guys have for Sims or Sims II
  9. I love this cartoon strip: http://www.vgcats.com/comics/?strip_id=122 It's funny cuz it's so true. Poor sims take too much abuse from us.
  10. You don't need the mod, just use a male alien hybrid with a regular human male and have the two wohoo! Your boy will be pregnant. The difference is the skin tone will be slightly green. Oh well, the kids look cute and after a few generations, the difference disappear and we all become family. Have you ever had neighbors that frowned at seeing two guys make out; Homophobes in Sims? I see that I declare judgment like God and throw them into a pool or burn their house down, hehe! Now if only God were that fun in real life.
  11. Odd that I can be light, but anyone here play the Sims? A new PC version is "coming out" later this year. The highlighting for "coming out" is directed at the interesting ability that anyone playing the game can make all the major relationships gay just be a few flirts. According to some gamers of Sim II, Lesbianism is a default for the female characters, hehe! I wonder what Sim III will offer, since Sim II allowed hetero marriage under certain condition what are the chances of gays and lesbians getting equal share? Sim marriage equality anyone?
  12. Neat, finally proof; the truth is out there!
  13. Aww, It's Mattie Birthday, , you might be a year older, but your girlshi charms have not gone away yet. Have Happy Birthday Mattie!
  14. Sorry to be the voice of negativity, but for Star Trek series finales, The Next Generation's "All Good things..." was my favorite. A connection to the beginning of the series, a possible look at the future, and relative decisions within the present. I am a fan of Q's quote from that Episode and I do believe that exploration need not just be scientific exploration of new things, but the exploration of possibilities and existence holds promise to human development. The Voyager finale was a representation of the series without a clear concept. Harry Kim's line during the decision to stay in the Delta Quadrant and destroy the transwarp hub would have been much better if the series was about the journey rather than the "gimmick of the week". Voyager failed on many levels of storytelling, because it's flaw was the unfocused nature in the show. Voyager should have been a huge hit if they even tried focusing on returning home rather than figuring out this new mystery, creature, or civilization of the week. The formula worked for the original series (TOS) and the next generation (TNG), because they were explorers first, not seeking a path home. If Voyager had to explore, why not connect it to how it will help them return home. There must be a reason for exploration. To compare Voyager to classical mythology, Did Odysseus tell his men, "Hey look I know we all miss our families back in Ithaca, but let's study some plants and chart this sea lane like explorers"? No, he had one objective to get home at any costs. Sure he might have kirked/screwed a few goddesses along the way and had to go on a few detours aka his journey to the underworld, but he did everything out of a clear desire to return home with his men. Voyager was all over the place, when it should be about the journey home, which everyone in Star Trek's executive producer helm forgot. Sorry for the Rant, but I really dislike how badly mishandled Voyager was. Don't even get me started on Enterprise either......
  15. Happy Birthday! So many birthdays recently. Enjoy your last year as a teenager and I will welcome you into the odd world of twenties, hehe!
  16. Happy Birthday J! Enjoy your Birthday and keep them coming, the world needs more celebrations.
  17. So many Birthdays to congratulate! Happy Birthday Billy, enjoy your first legal drink of alcohol!
  18. Happy Birthday, Dan. Enjoy Disney's over priced wonderland.
  19. Yup, that is kind of like my 21st, just hope you don't end up with a bad hang-over for a week like I did. Happy Late Birthday and keep on enjoying yourself; us twentysomethings need fun too.
  20. I agree, but thinking of it over now, some one had to off themselves after all the bad stuff that happened, plus what they found on Earth. Dee was the best choice, her life was pretty much over without any clear light of happiness. Her husband fracks and loves another woman, her deep hopes for a future dashed by two nuclear holocausts (Yes, two, you will understand if you watch it), and her life like many others in the fleet is just in reptition mode. I really like Battlestar Galactica for its fatalism and depressive storytelling. The Suicide was a OMG moment for sure, but I thought the first season with Boomer shooting Adama moment was a slam dunk woah! and the Dee suicide moment was more progression in actual storytelling. And now, I am hoping for an interesting ending for the series. With the way things are going, they might end up in some mystical group orgy scene at the end saying we are all fracked, hehe! Btw, why are all the interesting gay/bi characters killed in BSG, Admiral Cain, Lesbian, Dead at the hand of her female cylon partner and Gaeta, Bi, dead after the magnificently built up mutiny? Can't we have a happy ending for the gay characters too, hope Louis is still around.
  21. Angel needed a better finale than what WB gave him, the Vampire with a soul and the face of an Angel (I agree yummy ) deserved better. Favorite TV Show moment: It has to be Battlestar Galactica's "The what the hell moment at the end of season 1", it was very shocking. I hear the series finale will also be interesting, but I will not rate that yet. Favorite Series Finale: Sci-Fi: Babylon 5 hands down the most complete ending to a series. Drama: Fraiser gets my applause, too Cartoon: Futurama, I really liked that series blend of sentimentality and humor. (It is the polar opposite of Family Guy) Hope you come back for real this time. Favorite gay scene: QAF takes home most of the awards from beginning to end, but I think "As the world Turns" with Noah and Luke are showing themselves sensually a bit more. They are no where near Justin and Brian's level of sex, but time and the American audiences will help make that a reality. Favorite current TV show: Though, I like Battlestar Galactica with its advanced amounts of humanity, my favorite is House M.D for humor, wit, and serious characterizations.
  22. It might have been pretentious, but it was a fun show. I watched it on and off, when I was a teen, in order to hide the fact that I also watched QAF later on at night from the prying eye. HBO vs. Showtime, who was the better network. Hmm, I wonder was Keith bi or gay?
  23. Don't worry this is not a shameless promotion. Most people may not read my stories, it's fine. However, I am glad another chapter has been edited and submitted. At one time, I had a few friends helping me edit my stories, but they each have had to make sacrifices due to the problematic economy and their own personal issues. I am working on two stories right now both with different themes and different ideas. Worlds of Difference is my first story and my baby basically. I summed up the entire premise of my story and its structure with this line in the new chapter: "He is in his own story. You are at the beginning of your story or the end of your story depending on how you interpret linear time; Josh is continuing the story or ending another story. I am neither the beginning nor the end, since I exist through the story. Remember that idea and keep it in your heart. Most people exist in their own stories, but you are allowed to move between their stories and create an even greater story,
  24. Amazing insights guys, some are simple and others more in depth. The guys with good working relationships highlight communication, which everyone understands and has heard from the best experts in the field. However, there is also another point that is interesting in common about the responses of successful partners and relationships, a desire to keep the relationship by both partners. The bad relationships seem to be based on image issues, character flaws, or incomplete desires from the beginning. On this point, Rush I hope you can liberate yourself one day and find some one willing to work with you on the relationship. The key seems to be beyond communication or balance; it appears that both partner must be willing to work with one another through their relationships. The relationship core is one built on mutual sacrifice and mutual exchange. The old dynamic of a relationship is basically gone; we are not working on the aims for a nuclear family model, anymore. With that idea gone and the rise of individualism, people can choose and move around in their relationships. Then, what motivates people to work on relationships if they know there are a million other choices out there? Everyone thinks it's a buyers market, so why keep working on something old, when you can exchange for a newer better model. You guys in the relationships gave me an insight that relationships that work are mutually connected. You guys made your choice with your partner, so the two partners want to make it work even when there are other options.
  25. The topic and question is basically why don't gay or straight relationship seem to last? I am a romantic and would love to be with some one from 20 to 100, but it seems like those types of relationship do not flourish in our world. What is the reasoning behind it?
