I was wearing a long trench coat and a black top hat. When I arrived at the Halloween party, I thought it was a good idea at the time to go as an old-school magician. The costume had a top hat, a black and white suit with a red tie, and a white shirt. What made the outfit so good, was that I found an authentic-looking wooden magic wand, which looked like it could be a real magic wand. If this were Harry Potter-universe, it would definitely be a Phoenix-core wand. Mark, who was dressed up as

Sometimes I wonder why I even bother trying to fit in. Like going to a stupid Halloween party, because my boyfriend, Mark, wants me to go and not be a shut-in with my graphic horror novels and scary movies. I don't like parties and I don't like the kids at school, especially all the jocks. Being a gay freshman hasn't made my 14-year-old life any better, despite the occasional make-out sessions with Mark. Mark would be a great boyfriend if he could do one thing right. We can't have sex, bec

It is Halloween night when all sorts of monsters prowl and come out from their shadows. Jules is a gay bookish 14-year-old boy, who enjoys reading and watching horror more than pretending to be a monster. He is forced to attend a Halloween party by his boyfriend, Mark. Something horrifying is about to occur.

Thanks guys, when I do write shifter-genre stories, I consciously or subconsciously write them with a bit of social commentary. It's like Rob Zombie and his movies.

I don't have it write for me, ChatGPT is fun for research like if I needed to know historical facts or research an etymology. When I use the AI assistants with writing, it more like text-based gaming, you just need to preset the parameters with a story, then have different places where you use the chat to act as fork in the road. Like I can command ChatGPT: Write a story Doctor's Who Tardis is captured by the Empire from the Star Wars Universe and they enter the Prime Star Trek Universe around 2275. (Main characters) face off in a fleet battle. I tried my hand at copying ChatGPT a few months ago, but it's incredibly hard to cross several universes together for fun. Additionally, I've tried to redo famous battle sequences with text-based commands, i.e. Battle of Yavin or Wolf-359, then I have ChatGPT adjust the formation of ships or weapons to shoot down certain ships at specific points in the battles as they occur canonically. (I am a nerd, so it goes with the territory)

James have you used AI for other things yet Noticed it wasn't on your list, so I'm not sure if you discovered the other function of AI tools. Choose your adventure text based stories can be created with ChatGPT and other AI systems. I can spend hours just crafting Star Trek/Star Wars/Other fanfic adventure scenarios with infinite combinations. It's incredibly addictive for those of us who grew up on interactive text-based adventure games (Final Fantasy and Zelda players unite). ChatGPT of course has a built-in morality filter now, so any sensitive content, including explicit sex scenes opposite sex or same sex, is prohibited, including all the prompts and commands that people used to use. Erotica and romance things are relegated to story sites. There's other AI engines that do allow that stuff, but they're writing ability is equivalent to nifty.org circa 2003. Fun, but the terse short sentences and repetitive language means that someone can easily tell if it's AI-generated or human. Mark my words, long paragraphs and run-on sentences will be useful identifiers of human writing in the future, it is our imperfections that make stories more real. ----------------------- I use AI for writing research and text based stories that I create for fun and pseudo-gaming, I have phasers and photon torpedoes blowing up star destroyers, while Darth Vader Force chokes Kirk, despite the morality limits (Violence isn't immoral as long as it's using imaginary means) It's how I rejuvenated my interest in writing, the constant need to create text based scenario is stimulating.

Prompt 169-Sheltering my Bully
W_L commented on W_L's story chapter in Prompt 169-Sheltering my Bully
It's a Dom/sub story with some interplay between 2 damaged guys needing to find each other again. Nate hasn't had much love and a lot of abuse in his life, he couldn't let Spike off. Spike wants to make up to Nate for being an ass to him and refusing his own basic sexual inclinations. Think of all the stuff Nate went through and all the stuff Spike is forced to live as. It's a sort of happy ending, though imperfect. They have each other and the freedom to be anything they want. -
And published for your consumption, I went wolf-shifter, but I had a small twist on it https://gayauthors.org/story/w_l/wls-prompts-short-stories/9

Public Announcement: Wolves have been sighted within the town limits. Women and children below the age of 18 should return home. All abled body males over the age of 18 should report to the town hall for hunting party assignments. The announcement sounded across the town, causing an uproar. It had been ten years since the wolf-shifters were driven from the chosen kingdom, thirty years since the peace-loving chosen king was assassinated and five years since the chosen occupied some treaty la

Chapter 5: “Pose as a friend, Work as a spy”
W_L commented on W_L's story chapter in Chapter 5: “Pose as a friend, Work as a spy”
Thanks Chris Thanks, it's alternate history, but I use a lot of historical elements to write this story to make for some fun concepts and points of contrast. -
Well, I owe you guys a story, since I didn't write for the anthology # 171 is an interesting prompt, despite the challenge of making sharp teeth and saliva with a sweet counterpoint. (Nothing against guys that like that sort of thing, just don't serve me up with fava beans and chianti if you don't like my take on the prompt)

Unholy dead topic necromancy! I think the random word choice without etymology was just that. You all know we can't discuss the Poli stuff in here. Twitter/x or The pit. Sometimes topics are just discussed, points stated, then they're over. If there are no new feelings, there's no more words.

After the wedding announcement, I never got a chance to speak with Robert alone. His father directed his men to take Robert to the country estate of his future bride-to-be, according to Ambrose, who came to see me that night ostensibly to return a book he borrowed from me. In reality, Ambrose had delivered me a letter, hidden inside some religious reflection written by a monk. I knew it was from Robert. He told me we would meet again and not lose hope. It was a cheesy and unrealistic comfort tha

Chapter 5 An important character got introduced in this chapter, Francis Walsingham., the shadow of Elizabeth I He is historically one of the greatest spymasters of all time, creating an international spy network that outmatched all of England's opponents and protected its Queen. He was fanatically loyal to Elizabeth. Modern intelligence agencies, UK's MI5, Israel's Mossad, US' CIA, China's MIS, and Russia's FSB all use techniques that Walsingham employed in the 16th century in a concerted foreign policy with Queen Elizabeth. While strictly heterosexual and devout Protestant in history, there were more than a few rumors about sexual liaisons with Elizabeth. My alternate history/medieval fantasy direction for him is different, but take important hints from history. Fair folk/fairy legends were around for a long time in Europe, but they first became quite popular during this time, when folklore about demi-spirits began to grow into stories. There are even some myths of fairies, which became immersed with Elvish lore, i.e. Tolkien's nature loving long haired Elves share traits with classic fairies. As for coven, if I am doing medieval fantasy I am not going to leave out witches, especially with the subject matter of this novel and the protagonist's feelings on gender equality. However, be forewarned, magic isn't what you think it is, at least in my universe. This also marks the first time I am introducing an important phrase in my novel, "The last shall be the first", it comes from the Bible in the Book of Matthew to denote the devout Christian reward of eternal paradise if you follow Jesus. (I might be a heretic, but I know the Bible probably better than most homophobes). I reclaimed that phrase with a different meaning, some literalist will find it cute. Next chapter you will understand why I chose that phrase to symbolize an ideal. The 14th law of Power according to Robert Greene, "Pose as a friend, Work as a spy” is basically what Francis did in this chapter. You will find out that his recent stay with his uncle was not random chance, but preplanned, due to intelligence. Francis had to get close to his uncle, gain his trust by bullying Eli, and prepare for their escape. The law teaches people that confidence in an ally gained through impression is not always accurate, while those seeking knowledge will employ various means to get what they want, even if it might be counter-intuitive. Eli understood what Francis instantly upon reflection as a result. Those who know the spy longer than the target will understand the reasons for certain actions upon discovering their identity. ----------------- 1. Yes, in history, Francis Walsingham was the nephew of Sir Anthony Denny, who was Elizabeth Guardian after Thomas Seymore. My guess is that Elizabeth and Francis probably used that connection to build up their friendship and eventual spymaster/queen relationship. 2. There are ripple effects from killing the entire Denny family, but history is still going along similar path. 3. Plato's real name was Aristocles and his boyfriend/wrestling teacher did give him the name Plato, meaning broad. Some people think it's about his body shape, but from a gay male's perspective, I take it to mean something else. Plato was supposedly a great wrestler, which meant he pinned his teacher more often than not However, Medieval England's level of literacy and education in the 16th century was nowhere near the point to identify these facts by Latin and Greek literate.

A 90's kid would remember Heifer as a fun gluttonous cartoon steer: He was really fond of Chokin Chicken (Did not know until I was much older that was a reference to masturbation, you gotta love subversive cartoons)

@Bill W Was his first name Mann? While most boys might tease and bully, the girls and certain affected boys would be curious about his reputation 😛

Prompt 169-Sheltering my Bully
W_L commented on W_L's story chapter in Prompt 169-Sheltering my Bully
Thanks, I am glad you like Nate and Spike's story. Nate was bullied a lot by his ex-friend/boyfriend Spike, but also emotionally, they're linked despite how the relationship developed. Spike was a tragic villain, trapped in a role that he never wanted, the role of being an "ideal man". Never giving and never offering affection, especially to one person he loved most. Thanks, I mean sweethearts that become couples like Heartstoppers has its own appeal, which I can appreciate, too. However, complex relationships based what roles society pushed on people and bullying are just as common. Nate was risking a lot in confronting Spike with his pent up frustrations, a beating was likely or maybe even death. However, I like to think subconsciously Nate knew Spike's true motivations and his innate submissive nature, hidden away by the conversion therapy. Someone as affectionate and loving as young Spike would have left an psychological imprint. --------------- Glad a few people enjoyed this story -

Thanks Chris, I thought it would be fun. You actually learn more about Nate throughout the story as well as Spike. Makes their sex later more nuanced and fun. -
And I wrote a fun story inspired by this prompt: https://gayauthors.org/story/w_l/wls-prompts-short-stories/8

Throughout high school, I wish Spike would stop being such an asshole. Like the destruction of my homework, the surprise nipple twists, and spit in my school lunch was getting tedious every day. Worst of all, no one tries to stop him, because everyone in our town thinks I deserve it for what I did to him. I wish we could rewind to middle school when Spike and I were best friends. We had been that way since we met in kindergarten and shared his graham crackers box. We liked the same things,

Glad he took it so well. He should be proud of maintaining his composure and not feeling embarrassed by an accident. Male cheerleaders get a lot of flack due to gender role biases Thanks for sharing the post-interview, Austin seems like a cool kid and will make a great doctor or medical professional if that's what he wants to pursue in the future.
