Well Justin Bieber proved he’s no quarter horse or thoroughbred! ;–)

It reminded me of what Brits and some annoying Americans ask their pet dogs as they’re reaching for the leash… ;–)

    Part 5

I’m glad that at least in one world, Global Warming didn’t destroy our civilization. Nor did reckless world leaders. Or technology. Things progressed and life went on. ;–) Are we sure that Griffin & Benny aren’t a bit like Jor-Jor (aka George Orr)? ;–)

But even Peter Jennings used to say ‘aboot’ while anchoring the nightly news on the American Broadcasting Company! ;–)

Hey, we’re not all that bad! We only get Canadians confused with ourselves! We have to wait until they say ‘aboot’ or add ‘eh?’ to the end of their sentence! ;–)

    Chapter 34

Good thing that’s not my motherland! It might be our cultural motherland, but it’s not my ancestral home. I live on the Pacific Rim and turn my back on the Atlantic! ;–)

Thank you for using the correct homonym! So many people forget that ‘rein in’ comes from the action with a horse. They get the word confused with ‘reign’ (as in royalty) which wouldn’t make any sense in this context.

This makes me wonder if Don has made any more progress towards his goal of standing, walking, and running…

    Part 4

Wow! Time really flies in Griffinland! It seems like just yesterday the posse was still in high school! ;–) I could never live in NYC or anywhere east of the Rockies – too hot and muggy! But I could never live in LA either, much too congested and wasteful. The Bay Area is a nice compromise between a large metropolitan area with a huge, vibrant, powerful LGBTQ community and a friendly more livable suburban atmosphere. There are wide swaths of green space throughout the region. ;–)
  12. You got the Steinbeck connection with me right, but Fortitude..... Ummm, I didn't enjoy that show very much. Spin the wheel again! hehe

I’m sure you can get around the rights issues by never mentioning the species name in your next big series… ;–)

Wow! I hadn’t realized you’d switched genres for this new story! Is Max a mutant like the X-Men? ;–)

I’m sure your dog could identify with an Ewok – same general conversation ability and IQ. ;–)

    Chapter 23

Would a story from Mikiesboy be an acceptable alternative? It’s part of a series about a man and his husband, a sports enthusiast, who gets injured and has to adjust to being in a wheelchair in the first story. We are introduced to Max, a teenager who has just lost his parents in a terrible accident and is now using a wheelchair due to his own injuries. ;–) Mikiesboy doesn’t write in your favorite genre, but his characters are very realistic. He uses Beta Readers and Editors, so the stories flow very nicely. I recommend the story even though only two chapters out of thirteen have been posted so far (it’s on a weekly schedule). ;–)

    Meeting Max

Adding a child to the household is stressful. Having that addition be a teen is even more stressful. Added to all that is the fact that Max is newly disabled and still adjusting and coming to terms with his new situation. Louis is realistic to be seeing the heaviest load will fall on his shoulders. Robert might help, but he’s not going to be there 24/7. Don will be better equipped to deal with Max’s adjustment to his disability, but he won’t be able to help with the physical tasks. Max won’t want Rena to help him bathe or change his catheter! If their healthcare worker (I assume they’ll have one at least initially once Max moves in) won’t be around to do all those things every time, so Louis will need to do them. Usually, the argument in favor of fostering or adopting an older child is that you won’t need to deal with diapers, but catheters and colostomy bags (if he has them) aren’t a great alternative!

    Part 2

I wondered about that! I was going to mention Wookies, but thought I’d mention a few things from other franchises. And show off the range of stories I’ve read at the same time. But I forgot to include Ringworld, one of the most unique ‘planets’ ever written about! ;–)
