  1. Well, that wouldn’t be slow at all!
  2. Do characters reflect their authors? ;–) The ‘jk’ in your name means just kidding, right? ;–)
  3. Anticipation. You Can’t Hurry Love. It’s so nice to actually know the lyrics to the songs mentioned in a story! I always feel ancient when I’ve barely heard of, or worse never even heard of, the musical group being referenced! ;–) And thank you for remembering that Hawaiian volcanoes are not explosive like Krakatoa, Mt Etna, Mt St Helens, and numerous other volcanoes around the world. ;–)

Too much to drink? ;–) Hey! None of that coal stuff here! None of my electricity is produced by coal. We still have a lot of power produced with natural gas – as are my water heater and range. ;–) Besides, I have no klompen. ;–)

    Chapter 52

Yes, I’m sure you were the very first person to say that! …in A’Dore, Blethos, and Creid! ;–)
  6. I was born in California and have only lived here and in Hawaii. I refuse to eat fish because we had it so often when I was growing up. I will eat certain types of sushi, but none of the forms with fish or most other kinds of seafood. I’ll ingest my micro-pellets of plastic some other way. ;–)

Sinterklaas managed to make it across the Atlantic (as Santa Claus), but Zwarte Piet got lost somewhere. Maybe Father Christmas wouldn’t let him through Customs at Heathrow? Or maybe he was confused by Kwanzaa? ;–)

If we keep bugging you (but are otherwise good), can we open one present early? ;–)
  9. I listen to very little country music. Mostly crossover stuff like John Denver (Thank God I’m a Country Boy!), Eagles, kd lang, and a few others. But radio stations in the ‘70s used to play a much wider variety of genres even if they only played the Top 40 hits. Things weren’t quite so walled off and segregated in the good old days. ;–)
  10. I like graffiti art, especially murals on boring walls. But I don't like the territorial tagging. Among model railroaders, the subject is more volatile than religion and politics where many modelers want their miniature world scrubbed clean of any hint of graffiti and many others appreciating the beauty and uniqueness that graffiti adds to their recreation of reality (model railroaders tend to be older and more ‘nostalgic’ than the general population). I think there are at least parallels between graffiti culture and the LGBTQ community – and connections beyond Keith Haring. ;–)

    Chapter 3

Oh Woody. Why do things like that always happen to you? Why didn’t you think before you took Jon’s ID out of his wallet? ;–) And since Kate has feelings for you, she’s been paying a lot of attention to you. She noticed you never responded to her advances. She noticed you never seemed to be interested in any of the other girls. And she noticed how Jeff reacts around you and how happy he was when you agreed to go to the mall with him! (All things boys are clueless about.) ;–)
  12. All the content I create is very derivative. I don’t really create anything unique. But I’m also not making any money off of it either. ;–) I think control over the use of content is more important than the profit. Creating a hologram of Fred Astaire to sell vacuum cleaners probably caused him to protest from the grave, but who listens to the dead. Disrespectful use of an image, person, art, or music after a person is dead is shameful, but shame never stops some people…

I’m staying on the outside of that window. You’ll poke an eye out the way you’re swinging it around. Watch out – you’ve torn the window shade off the window!

I can’t help it if your more-than 10cm pole keeps knocking your window shade open! ;–)

    Part 3

We’ve learned your pole isn’t 10cm, but you appear to still be claiming at least a 10” (25.4cm) pole! ;–)
  16. It’s too bad that Nate now has such a bad impression of our Sweet Little Dusty™. They would have been good for each other. They’d be able to relate to each other on levels that others just wouldn’t understand.
  17. It sounds like suicide ideation. Very advanced ideation. While I hope nothing bad happens to his neighbor, it would be better if ‘The Bang in the Building’ were the neighbor falling.

I think we need photographic proof that you have a ten foot (3 meter!) pole. I’d be surprised if it were a ten inch (25.4 cm) pole (we’d still need photographic proof)! We’ll excuse you from showing us if it’s a 10 cm (3.9 inch) pole though. ;–)

    Chapter 2

Woody is too smart for his own good. His teachers haven’t figured out how to channel his intellect into more productive directions so we get things like this report. He isn’t being challenged enough and his mind has plenty of time to wander. ;–)

    Chapter 1

Woody’s parents have a wicked sense of humor. Glen or Glenda was a very low-budget semi-autobiographical film by Ed Wood about cross-dressing and transsexuality (Tim Burton made a movie starring Johnny Depp about Ed Wood). There would be no end to the teasing if their classmates found out about the movie! You could have completed the joke if Jon had been named Ed since Woody could be a reference to his last name. ;–) I know, I know, you’ll tell me you hadn’t heard of the movie when you wrote the story. It was just one of those variation names that parents inflict on twins. Some parents don’t think about the torment they’re sentencing their newborn children to endure…

    Part 1

It bothers me that there are people in the world who think that spending so much on audio equipment is not a big deal. It’s obscene that a school student has easy access to that much money. This is an example of the concentration of wealth in too few pockets. There are people within a few blocks of the boys who have no housing, no food, no jobs, and/or no healthcare. This is a moral issue.

    Date Night

Pretty sneaky of Artie to get Lindsey’s cooperation in arranging a date with Mason for Adam. It’s a very good sign that Mason wants to include Artie and Dizzy in their dinner date. Bonus points for wanting to see Artie’s baseball game! ;–)

Making rice doesn’t impress me. All I have to do is measure the rice and water, then turn on the rice cooker. No trouble at all! ;–)
  24. The problem with Disney ownership is that they’ll milk it for sequels regardless of whether the source material is deep enough to support them. It’s surprising there were no direct-to-video sequels to The Black Hole – instead they’re trying for a remake, the other thing Disney loves doing. Just wait until Disney decides to remake the original Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope… ;–)

    Just A Trace

They’re on @Dabeagle’s site. There’s a link near the top of the page specifically for the Sanitaria Springs stories. Not being from the New York area, I keep seeing Santaria or Santa Rita (as in Alameda County's Jail in Dublin, CA – the third largest in California and the fifth largest in the US). And when I think of sanitariums, I don’t think ‘resort’ (the original definition), I think ‘crazy house’.
