  1. I've been crossing the Bay Bridge with seasonal regularity my whole life. Once, four times in a three hour span. I get across the dang thing just fine, but I'm never going to be comfortable.
  2. 446?? Just in Pittsburgh?? Oh hell no...not in this lifetime.
  3. My daughter and I took a road trip this past week to check out the college she will be attending. She was able to meet with her academic adviser and work out which classes she will be taking, tour her dorm and the campus, and I got to sign my life away paying for her education. It
  4. Does this whiz-bang blog gizmo that has you all fired up come with somewhat larger text? Either that or I'm just going to have to break down and get new glasses. Sharon
  5. Luigi I sort of forgot you'd be able to understand that. Maybe I should add 'present company excluded.' Please Don't. You'd be lieing if you did. ;-) Truer words were never spoken...er, typed.

  7. Update: We can call off the search for my pot scraper. Sadly, I have to report its demise. In a last attempt to locate it this morning, I was searching through the neighboring kitchen drawers. I was hoping the scraper had just gone visiting some of the other gadgets and overstayed its welcome. After explaining to my husband what I was doing then describing what I was looking for, I got the following response. “Uh oh” Not good, I tell you, not good at all. Seems he came across the very object of my search just the other day while looking for something else. As he had no clue what it was, and in his infinite wisdom of knowing absolutely every-freaking-thing, he decided since ‘he’ didn’t know what it was then ‘we’ didn’t need it. So he tossed it in the trash. I came this close to throwing my shoe at him, but I was wearing my frog shoes and they just don’t have a mean bone in their body. I should have bought the ones with the hippos on them. They’d have done some damage. I told him 1) if the damn thing was in my kitchen drawer then it’s something I use, and 2) since he’s not glued to my ass 24 hours a day, how the hell did he know what I did or didn’t use on a regular basis. He took offense at ‘2’ for some reason. Go figure… Tutti gli uomini sono idiots e sono sposato al loro Re…
  8. Seems my pot scraper is missing in action. It was in my kitchen drawer just the other day and now I can

  10. This actually happened last Saturday, but it still has me smiling. I was sitting in the MVA with my daughter, waiting our turn to get her a photo ID. After an hour
  11. I made Shrimp Scampi. That's always a crowd pleaser. Sharon
  12. Try here. Specifically this one, and this one, and maybe this one. They may be helpful. And if they are not, I'd appreciate it if you didn't bite my head off. Thank you very much. Sharon
  13. My older daughter graduated just a week ago. Everything went off without a hitch, and she managed to cross the stage without tripping. We even managed to have a nice dinner after with assorted family members (after having to corral a couple who headed to the wrong restaurant) and, lo and behold, everyone actually got along for the duration. The best part of the entire process was my mother
  14. Okay - I've got it. Apparently her idea of pressing the power button differs from mine. Oh and I immediately disabled the hibernation mode so we won't have this problem again. Thanks for your help !! Sharon
  15. My daughter's new laptop decided all on its own to go into hibernation. She swears she didn't click anything. So how do I get it out of hibernation??? Sharon

    blah-bu-du-huh?

In that case, do you think we could talk him into leaving and coming back...oh, I don't know...say once a week? Just until the story's done. Sharon
  18. Uh...Darling, you might want to rephrase that. Sharon
  19. Mmmm...I've grilled tuna before, but I've never tried it baked. I can sympathize with that statement. I no longer beat my head against the stove. I cook what I want and if they don
  20. So what's everyone having for dinner? I need some new ideas... Sharon

  23. As this is the day set aside to honor Mothers, I do plan to do that where my own mother is concerned. But I also wanted to take this time to reflect on my own role as

    Thunderstorm, at last!

There is just something so wrong about that statement. Basil goes with almost everything, especially tomatoes, which explain why they play nice in the garden. Sharon
  25. This was pretty entertaining. I got 19. Think Test
