  1. Oh my, too bad I have girl hands...... Sharon
  2. Well - I do have experience. I have teenagers at home. And Kitty must be adding something extra to her tea. Sharon
  3. "It's My Party And I'll Cry If I Want To" - Leslie Gore. I had the <gasp> album. There's nothing wrong or whiny about the way you feel. I think everyone goes through a similar spot every now and then. My life is extremely full (husband, kids, house, job, family) but once in a while I really feel lonely and unhappy. I call it my 'blue mood'. I feel weepy and worn out and I just want to chuck everything and run as fast as I can in a different direction. It sort of hits me that 'this is it?'. I'd like to be your age again and start over. Chances are, I'd make the same choices, but every now and then, I'd like to think I'd do things differently. I sometimes wonder what's worse....being alone, or being half a couple and still being lonely. Give it time, the mood will pass. Sharon
  4. Happy Birthday Sweetpea. Hope you're having a good day. Sharon
  5. So - how exactly does this work when you take into consideration dog years??? Happy Birthday and Best Wishes Sharon

    TOTALLY Psyched!

Sun block, sun block, and let's see.....sun block. It has a multidude of uses. Sharon
  8. He's a guy - he's genetically inclined to stupidity. Now if you want to provide us with the blog address, I'm sure we could leave him some colorful comments regarding his thoughts..... Sharon
  9. <gets out her ruler to measure post length> I'm not sure how you did that, but the dang thing (at least on my screen) is just about four feet!! Glad to see you back, enjoy your new life, and unpack those boxes. Sharon

You can borrow my uterus, if you'd like. I'm not planning on using it anytime soon. Sharon

    Woo-hoo!

It just so happens I was up late last night watching 'Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band' (I haven't decided if I lost or won Mom points, since I let my kids stay up to midnight on a school night to watch also) and I really wanted to crank the volume during Aerosmiths turn as the evil FVB. So my vote is the Beatles 'Come Together'. Its still looping around in my head. Sharon

    ramblings

For your sake, I hope its more like Stars Hollow with querky characters like Miss Patty, then Derry with that creepy clown (aka It). Sharon
  13. Happy Birthday, Sweetie. And as I told you last year....Dude, you're old. Best wishes for a great day. Sharon PS. Plan extra time for the gym - that huge cake is on its way. (Low fat and sugar free, I swear )

    Annoyed

And I'm sure you can manage to break those four plates....... Sharon
  15. Looking forward to the four foot long blog to catch us up when you get settled. And remember, there is a limit for smilies. Good luck with finals and the move. Sharon
  16. Age comes with some perks. Sharon
  17. Val Close your eyes, and take a deep breath. Now let it out slowly, open your eyes and start your life. You're strong, intelligent and witty. Make the move to another state and law school with enjoyment. It won't take you long to settle in and make a whole bunch of new friends and find a new guy. We have faith in you. Now that I've said the nice stuff, I'm going to bitch at you. You haven't been happy with this guy for a long time so he obviously isn't the right guy for you. I think you're more upset that he ended things before you could. You both were looping through that same rut and this is your chance to fly. Go for it girl. Sharon
  18. Well, I haven't seen it (him/her?) since last Wednesday, so I'm hoping it (he/she?) has returned to the wild. Sharon
  19. I'm already liking you a whole lot, even if you don't want to nibble on my toes. Sharon
  20. Dang - Looks like my socks just got another year older. Happy Birthday and Best Wishes Sharon
  21. Well I haven't seen my slithery friend today and I made a point to open the outer door frequently yesterday (okay so I was smoking alot), so maybe 'Elvis has left the building'. Sharon

    Is it worth it?

Yes - it is worth it. Knowing a bit about David's history, its perfectly understandable that you would open your house to a young person in need. You didn't say you were planning on keeping him, you just offered him a safe place to be until other arrangements could be made. And you started the ball rolling for those other arrangements. If I found myself in the same situation, I wouldn't have hesitated to do the same thing and wouldn't have thought about 'checking' with my husband. That's small potatoes compared to making sure the kid's safe. Kudo's to you, Green, for your compassion. Sharon
  23. Well thank you very much, Bill. Aren't you just a fount of information. I'll be sure to let you know if it starts trying to sell me additional insurance. As for the cat, I don't think the ridiculously large geese in the pond would like that. Or the two really cute pit bull puppies that visit the office next door. I'm not too sure how I'll feel about those puppies when they get bigger. I'm hoping they remember I'm nice to them so they don't bite my knees off. Sharon
  24. It's a somewhat dark green with some stripes and its skin looks shiney (sort of iridescent). It has taken up residence behind a bookcase and as long as it stays on its side of the office, therefore away from my feet, it's welcome to visit for a while. And if lizards are the ones that bite, I'd prefer to believe its a salamander. There is a large pond about 50 feet from my office building so I'll consider that wetlands. Sharon
