    Abortion: part 2

I agree with you completely with regard to a public that is well educated. The current abstinence only policy that many school systems are forced to promote is foolish. A more comprehensive program that includes abstinence as a choice along with birth control information makes better sense overall. The more information that is available, the better the chances of making an informed decision. I
  3. My condolances, Dan, on the loss of your mother. What you do with them is up to you. Sharon

    A character

I do this quite a bit. For me anyway, it does seem to help clear my head. I can be as bitchy or sarcastic as I want and then, poof, it's all gone. Just the act of typing it all out does the trick so posting them isn't necessary. Sharon

    Hey

Welcome back, Dom. Vic was getting worried. Sharon
  9. Thanks guys, I appreciate the thoughts. Oh...and Vic? Bite me, Buttercup. Sharon
  10. Happy Birthday, Law !! It's a good day for a birthday, but I think the software has flip flopped our ages. Sharon
  11. I'd like to go back and revisit my 30's only because I don't remember them. I was busy raising small children during that time and didn't have time to breathe. Seems like they handed me a baby when I was 29 and then all of a sudden I was 40. Sharon
  12. My favorite is "Smoking will stunt your growth." I'm...er...39 and a half - I seriously doubt there's another growth spurt I'm prohibiting. Sharon
  13. I like what Old Bob had to say. I'll only add that maybe, just maybe, you're not as upset as you think you should be because deep down you know these were all the right decisions to make. You have a pretty good track record, Kevin, of doing, what for you, is the right thing in your life. You'll do just fine. Sharon
  14. Veterans Day is an American holiday honoring military veterans. Both a federal holiday and a state holiday in all states, it is celebrated on the same day as Armistice Day or Remembrance Day in other parts of the world, falling on November 11, the anniversary of the signing of the Armistice that ended World War I. (Major hostilities of World War I were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918 with the German signing of the Armistice.) Veterans Day is largely intended to thank veterans for their service, to acknowledge that their contributions to United States national security are appreciated, and to underscore the fact that all those who served - not only those who died - have sacrificed and done their duty. Sharon
  15. Huh?? I have read this one four times and still don't know what the heck it says. Sharon
  16. 1. Get a (small and tasteful) tattoo -And just as soon as they figure out how to do them without having to jab me a gazillion times with a needle, I am so getting one. 2. Take my kids to Europe. 3. Own a house at the beach. 4. Give the keynote eulogy at my husband
  17. Whether I'm looking directly at her or off to the side, reading the words on the page, she still spins in both directions. She does between ten and twelve revolutions in one direction then changes and does between ten and twelve in the opposite direction. Wash, rinse, repeat... I've been watching for a good 15 minutes steady and it's the same pattern over and over. Guess that makes me ambidextrous brained. Sharon
  18. She's going both ways. Starts out clockwise, then changes to counter. Just so you don't think I'm totally nuts, I've tried this four different times. Same thing each time. Sharon

And in answer to your question, probably a man. Sharon

    Autumn of my Mind

Now see...why is it usually assumed that the 'road not taken' has to include some sort of regret? Why can't it be that that expected 'road' was, in fact, the wrong one anyway. That way the 'road' you did end up taking turned out to be the right one after all. Just a thought... Sharon
  21. These guys get up way too early !!! Happy 18th Birthday Toot!!! Have a great day and I'll see you tomorrow. Mom
  22. Happy Birthday, Bill!!! Hope you have a good one. Sharon
  23. **waves hand enthusiastically** You can hit me!!! You can hit me!!! Sharon (speaking figuratively not literally )
  24. Happy Birthday Dom !!!! Best Wishes for a great day. Sharon (Who is suffering from ITFB withdrawal and is too depressed to make a cake...well...maybe I could dredge up enough energy for cookies...but only small ones and they won't be chocolate...)
  25. I was wondering about that myself. Reminded me of a bumper sticker I saw once..."Dyslexics Of The World Untie!" Sharon
