    Chapter 39

And, as we all know, I would win.
  3. This is what you were meant to do...write. And luckily you do it so well.
  4. Carl I'm in the same place you left me. 😏 I can always be reached at sat8997@hotmail.com.
  5. You will do exactly what your doctor tells you to do or I will have to hunt you down and make you. Just so we're clear...
  6. Seriously...
  7. I always like it when you guys get all het up over your (well...not really yours, but you know what I mean) fictional characters. And danged if I'm not seriously irritated by being put in the position of agreeing with PrivateTim.
  8. Just goes to show you should never, ever open any email that says "Hey I need a favor". He still amazes me.
  9. I'm late. My bad. Happy birthday, Conner!!!!
  10. I'm in. Hi Marie!

    Rip: Trebs

I had the pleasure, over the years, to meet Robert in person twice, sit and have a meal with him along with several other wonderful people. As I have said before, he was a jewel amongst men. Robert had the ability to make you a part of the conversation, as if he'd known you for years. He will be missed. Rest in peace, my friend. And when you see Vic (and you will - just look for the gym bunnies, he'll be close by), tell him I said hello.
  12. Dang, you people take your fiction way too seriously. Ain't it wonderful?? And its my sincerely held belief that Matt's an ass, has always been an ass, and more than likely will continue to be an ass in any future story. So there! Oh...and while I'm at it, Will is the most awesome teenager ever!!!!! Even when he disrespects every known adult in the world. That's just how he rolls.
  13. His nibs is correct; I do love a good poll. Although, this can't be a legitimate poll. None of the selections include the word 'squirrel'.
  14. Fourteen chapters in nine days. My vacation needs a vacation.
  15. +10,000
  16. I vote for 'or two'.
  17. I keep all of my spices/herbs grouped by jar height and then alphabetized. Makes them easier to find.
  18. Once again, as a small bit of advice to my forum co-posters, never, ever, open an email with the subject line 'hey - I need a favor'. And at 4:35 in the AM, your toes should still be getting their beauty rest. Actually I am constantly amazed that his nibs continues to pull this author thing off with such grace and ease.
  19. Technically, lasagna is the name for the flat pasta noodle. The dish, lasagna, is layers of the noodles alternated with sauces and any other ingredients. There's no hard and fast rule that lasagna has to have beef and/or tomatoes. So whip up a nice white sauce and slather that over your pasta and whatever. I'd go with shredded chicken and roasted veggies like eggplant and zucchini, maybe some mushrooms. Add some Asiago to that white sauce...goes well with the chicken. Now I've made myself hungry...and planned Sunday's dinner.

    Chapter 4

Okay - that made me laugh.
  21. I noticed.
  22. Thank you. I've had the good fortune to work with many wonderful talented authors over the years. It's been an entertaining ride for sure.
  23. Murder mysteries have always been my go to genre. http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/alienist-caleb-carr/1100394603?ean=9780812976144 The Alienist by Caleb Carr The year is 1896, the place, New York City. On a cold March night New York Times reporter John Schuyler Moore is summoned to the East River by his friend and former Harvard classmate Dr. Laszlo Kreizler, a psychologist, or "alienist." On the unfinished Williamsburg Bridge, they view the horribly mutilated body of an adolescent boy, a prostitute from one of Manhattan's infamous brothels. The newly appointed police commissioner, Theodore Roosevelt, in a highly unorthodox move, enlists the two men in the murder investigation, counting on the reserved Kreizler's intellect and Moore's knowledge of New York's vast criminal underworld. They are joined by Sara Howard, a brave and determined woman who works as a secretary in the police department. Laboring in secret (for alienists, and the emerging discipline of psychology, are viewed by the public with skepticism at best), the unlikely team embarks on what is a revolutionary effort in criminology-- amassing a psychological profile of the man they're looking for based on the details of his crimes. Their dangerous quest takes them into the tortured past and twisted mind of a murderer who has killed before. and will kill again before the hunt is over. A 19th century Criminal Minds. Kept my interest so well, I've just started another book by the same author.
